1890 King of Southeast Asia

Chapter 7 Achieving Cooperation

Liu Yiming led Charles to a courtyard.

In the courtyard, there were two hundred young men who were directly controlled by the Liu family. They were either dependent on the Liu family, relatives of the Liu family, or working for the Liu family.

After a short training, they were taught to line up and stand in two squares of one hundred people with others.

Looking at the crooked square formation, Charles looked at Liu Yiming with some doubts.

"If this is your strength, you will never be able to beat those second-rate colonial troops." Charles said.

"Yes, I know, but these people have only been trained for two days. Maybe they will not become elite soldiers, but I have 10,000 such soldiers." Liu Yiming looked at Charles.

"Charles, if they are trained, at least they can become the level of the Indian colonial vassal army. Ten thousand such troops may not be able to beat a Royal Marine Battalion, but it is not a problem to defeat the colonial army in Surabaya." Liu Yiming said with a smile.

"But there are still a lot of forces in the Netherlands." Charles paused here.

"I have to say, Liu, you are a genius, but can you guarantee that things will really be like this?" Charles said.

"Why not give it a try? Anyway, you only need 'normal trade' in the early stage." Liu Yiming said.

"So, what do you need for the first batch of trade?" Charles finally gave in.

"No hurry, let's go in and talk."

In the room with the door closed, Liu Yiming said with a slightly sarcastic tone.

"Charles, my friend. Our situation is very bad, but this is also a good thing. You know, if we can live in peace, the Chinese are not willing to fight, because fighting means bloodshed, and the Chinese are more willing to pay a sum of money."

"But this is also our opportunity. We like moderation, but the Chinese have another saying."

Liu Yiming paused.

"Either do it or do it!"

"We need weapons, a lot of weapons, any weapons, as well as instructors, and a complete set of military construction systems."

Charles pondered.

"What you said will take time. This plan needs the approval of the generals above."

"Are the Dutch going to take action?"

"Charles, we can't wait that long, and neither can the Dutch. We need weapons, and we need them now." Liu Yiming said.

"This matter is beyond my authority. I will fight for it for you. Come to the dock to find me at this time tomorrow." Charles was silent for a while.

After talking for a while, Charles hurried back. As soon as Charles left, Liu Wanhua came after hearing the news.

"Yiming, how is it? Did you buy it?" Liu Wanhua was full of expectations for weapons.

"We'll see tomorrow. In fact, there are unexpected gains. I just wanted to buy some guns, but now it seems that it's more than that!" Liu Yiming recalled every detail and found that the problem was not small, but not big.

The UK would not care about such a colony. They couldn't even manage their own colonies. The colony of 30 million square kilometers is more than its native population. Although Java Island has a good geographical location, the UK has better options.

But according to the British's usual nature, they will definitely not miss any opportunity to stir up trouble, and this time is the same. If it succeeds, it will be of great use to Britain, and if it fails, it will not be a big deal.

On the other side. After Charles returned to the Savage, he sent someone to invite the captain back.

Captain White's father was the first mate of Charles' father. He was knighted for military work in the early years. White knew Charles' father when he was very young, so the two had a good relationship.

It just so happened that White also wanted to see the progress of the ship's repair.

"What's wrong, Charles? The messenger said you were in a hurry to find me." White found Charles' room.

Charles told White about his affairs with Liu Yiming and his ideas. White was silent after hearing this.

"What do you think? Can they defeat the Dutch? This is a question!" White was thinking about military affairs.

"Captain, we don't need them to defeat the Dutch, as long as they can withstand the Dutch attack, or even, as long as they can cause chaos and cause losses to the Dutch." Charles considered.

"Those gentlemen will like our plan. They won't say anything even if it fails."

"If we succeed and make trouble for the Dutch, we may have a chance to be awarded by the Queen."

White finally agreed.

"Give them some assistance, of course, not for free." After saying this, White went to inspect the supplies and ship repairs.

The next day, Liu Yiming and Charles met in the tavern again.

"Dear Liu, you must buy me a drink. I have good news for you." Charles said exaggeratedly.

"Wouldn't I buy you a drink if there was no good news? My dear Charles, we are friends. Good news or bad news will not affect our friendship." Liu Yiming said with a big laugh.

"Tell me what good news?" Liu Yiming asked after drinking a glass of wine.

"One hundred Martini Henrys, oh, Martini Henry is a gun used by the Marine Corps." Charles said mysteriously.

"My friend, this is not enough. We are facing tens of thousands of natives and a battalion of Dutch colonial troops. We don't even have as many guns as the Dutch." Liu Yiming was delighted. This had already met his minimum standard.

"Don't worry, my friend. To be honest, after talking to you for so long, this is the first time I see you anxious. I have to say it's very interesting! Sometimes I even suspect that you are an old man." Charles laughed lightly.

Seeing Liu Yiming's somewhat impatient look, Charles added:

"Okay, don't worry. I applied to Captain White. There are only so many rifles. In fact, you have almost taken all the rifles on the ship. The Marines are very angry."

Just when Liu Yiming thought that it was only like this.

"But after I explained to Captain White for a long time and explained your situation and your promise to him, Captain White decided to support you and give you two 37 rapid-fire guns and a sampan gun. Do you have anyone who can operate it?" Charles said.

"No, I need an instructor." Liu Yiming was very surprised that he could get a cannon!

"No, there will be no instructors, but there are always some wandering navy at the dock. You can hire them to train you." Charles smiled mysteriously.

"Charles, to our friendship!" Liu Yiming raised his glass and handed over a check.

"To our friendship." Charles looked at the figure of 20,000 pounds and raised his glass.

"There are too many people during the day, come to move things at night, here is the price list. Remember to prepare enough carriages, I will help you get enough ammunition, these ammunition are my gifts!" Charles drank the wine in the glass

He stood up and said in Liu Yiming's ear: "Don't forget the captain, he likes gold and silver jewelry and gorgeous swords."

After that, Charles left the tavern.

Liu Yiming also went back to prepare.
