Chapter 48 48 Lesson 1 (End)
Chapter 48 48. Lesson 1 (End)
Fulgrim did not expect that his course would go so smoothly.
Conrad Coates listened carefully to every word he said. His brother is not a student who likes to ask questions, but he will remember every word of the teacher.
From the purpose of the Empire to its most important work now, some basic political terms Konrad Coates has memorized everything.
Fulgrim could tell from his expression that he didn't understand the connection between 'political exchange' and the appointment of a planetary governor, but Konrad Curze would remember it.
For a Primarch, once he remembers something and understands it, it becomes a certainty.
Time will help him understand everything.
only.
"But I'm not sure you're interested in politics, Conrad."
The Chemosian closed his book and leaned back in his chair.
There was a hint of melancholy in his eyes, an expression that had appeared on Fulgrim's face many times. Sometimes he does it deliberately, sometimes it is his truest thoughts revealed inadvertently.
"politics?"
"Yeah. Politics."
Fulgrim sighed and did not continue - as time goes by, Konrad Curze will sooner or later understand how special his identity is in this empire.
Even if he hates politics very much in the future and even tries his best to stay away from this vortex, politics will find him on its own.
This word is linked to responsibility to a certain extent.
"No more of that, Conrad."
Fulgrim smiled slightly. "We're going very well today. At this rate, you should be able to learn everything you need in two weeks."
"So, the answer to that question.?"
"Of course I won't forget it."
Fulgrim said gently. "But you actually already have the answer, don't you? I can see that you have been thinking about that question while studying."
The pale giant nodded. He was very silent at the moment, but not in a bad way.
Fulgrim could see that he was thinking and organizing language at the moment - Konrad Curze already understood something, he just needed to understand more.
one and a half years old
With a silent sigh, the Chemos stood up and took out the pendant from his pocket. Then, he saw a slight change in Conrad Coates' expression.
"I"
Fulgrim did not look into Konrad Curze's eyes, he just raised the pendant and let his eyes move to it. Then he spoke in a gentle tone.
"It comes from Terra," the Chemos said softly. "I forgot to tell you yesterday, sorry, Conrad."
Then, he gently raised his hand, and the force was transferred, and the chain returned to his palm lightly with the pendant itself. Fulgrim spread it out, pointed at the pendant itself, and began to explain it carefully.
"The shell is gold-plated, and the inside is the partial remains of a demolished ancient building. It has a long history. I asked my father to come here. The gold plating is easy to fade, and it will fade due to bumps or chemicals."
"So, if you wear it all the time, it needs a touch-up every once in a while. It's so simple that even a child can do it, so I won't go into detail about it, Conrad."
"so."
He finally let his eyes intersect with Conrad Curze's.
"Are you still willing to accept it?" Fulgrim asked softly. "Even after I did something wrong?"
"."
Without speaking, Konrad Curze just slowly took it from Fulgrim's hand. He turned his head so that he wouldn't have to see the latter's expression, and then pointed to the book on the table.
"Have you given it a name, Fulgrim?" Konrad Curze asked.
His voice was calm.
Fulgrim tried his best not to laugh. He kept his voice calm and replied: "No, Konrad. I didn't give it a name."
"why not?"
"Because...ah, you stopped asking me."
The Chemos sighed. "I don't know why, Conrad. I just didn't give it a name."
"You said that you personally made the book cover for it sixty-six years ago, and that the number of pages has continued to increase since then. So, why don't you give it a name?"
Fulgrim was stunned.
Yeah, why wouldn't I?
And his brother continues.
"You've taken good care of it. It's old, but that oldness is endearing, Fulgrim. You should look through it often, right? I see signs of folding at many of the corners, and Some relatively new handwriting."
Konrad Coze raised his head, looked at the Chemos, and asked softly: "Since you like it so much, why don't you give it a name?"
Fulgrim lowered his head, not knowing how to answer.
Intellectually, he knew that there was no need to answer Konrad Coates' question.
It's just a notebook. What name does it need, and how can I like it?
Even though it is now almost becoming an encyclopedia covering all parts of the empire, in the final analysis, it is still a notebook.
But yeah.
A notebook that has been with me for more than sixty years.
A certain emotion began to take root, making him purse his lips.
"Because... I forgot." Fulgrim said.
"Those relatively new handwritings were left seventeen years ago. I still have it with me, but I haven't read it for a long time, and I haven't added pages. If I didn't need to teach you today, I'm afraid it wouldn't will be opened again.”
Fulgrim smiled, and this smile slowly changed. The handsome demigod was overjoyed at this moment, smiling normally and ordinary-this was the kind of smile he would never show in the past.
Fulgrim, the Emperor's son, could only smile with dignity and grace.
"I forgot!" he laughed, patting Conrad Coates on the back. "It's ridiculous, isn't it? I forgot about it!"
I actually forgot that I used to be so humble.
I obviously want to do my best, but why did I forget this notebook? I used to cherish it so much that I would open it and review it every night
The pale giant stared at his brother silently, with no particular reaction to the latter's laughter, but straightened his back unconsciously - Fulgrim's slap made him feel a little difficult to adapt.
"All right."
After laughing, Fulgrim shook his head: "It seems that everyone's sense of humor is different, right? You are not funny about this matter."
"Yes," said Conrad Coates. "And I want you to take it back."
"What?" Fulgrim's eyes widened. "That pendant?"
"No, I mean that notebook." Cozz pursed his lips and looked away.
".But why, Conrad? Don't you want it?"
“I want it, and I need it—but you should really enjoy it.”
Conrad Curze looked up.
"So I'm not taking it away."
He glanced at Fulgrim quickly, then immediately turned his head, raised his right hand, and let the pendant fall naturally. Then he pulled the chain apart with both hands.
".But thank you for the pendant." Conrad Coates said. "I like it so much I'll give it a name."
Fulgrim stared at him blankly, and after a while, the Chemos smiled.
"Okay." He said softly. "It should also like it."
I was originally thinking about resuming the normal update time tomorrow, but I calculated that the next update will have to wait until 5pm on the 25th, so I’ll keep the Midnight Lord update time for now.
