Chapter 699 The Man in the Picture
The dragon beat the air with its wings freely, rising higher and higher, and gasped excitedly.
"Do you want to fly?" Felix said to himself on the dragon's back, "then fly, I will show you the direction."
His words were conveyed to the giant dragon below him in a peculiar way. The dragon let out a cheerful roar in the sky, then flapped its wings, bathed in the golden glow above the clouds, and flew towards Hogwarts Castle.
On the other hand, the wizards in Diagon Alley still haven't figured out what happened.
A few minutes ago, a big hole suddenly exploded in the roof of Gringotts, and the huge roar instantly attracted the attention of half the street. They moved their eyes in unison, and witnessed a scarred old dragon crawling out of the hole. Protruding its head, followed by bloody wings and claws wrapped in iron chains, the giant dragon lay on the roof and stood still for a few seconds with its head raised, like an alternative huge decoration.
Fred and George stood on the second floor of Weasley's Wizard's Wheezes and looked out, making noises of surprise.
"Is that the dragon guarding the vault? I've always wanted to see it."
"Oh come on, our family vault isn't qualified to be guarded by dragons - wow! It looks cool, how about we rent a dragon magic lamp from Lupin?" one of them suggested.
"I like the idea," said another similar voice. "It has to be more than twenty feet. I remember Professor Haip demonstrating it at the Quidditch World Cup. I never saw it again. It's a waste."
More than thirty Aurors showed up. They had been standing nearby, but no one moved rashly. The dragon raised its head and spewed out a cloud of flames, scaring the people on the street to scream. They stumbled and ran away for fear of being affected. But the giant dragon stomped hard on its feet and spread its bloody wings to fly up. It flew higher and higher, turning into a black spot.
It wasn't long before Ms. Burns came out, intact, calmly directing the Aurors to take over the scene.
The big hole in the roof of Gringotts was quickly repaired, and Ms. Bones turned back as if nothing had happened, except that there were two more Aurors at the gate of Gringotts Bank.
Fred and George withdrew their satisfied gazes and descended the stairs. The store, filled with all kinds of wares and noisy, moving gadgets, was empty now—the customers had gone off to watch the action. The two looked out of the window through the poster on the window, were quiet for a while, and then spoke at the same time.
"A joint announcement from the Ministry of Magic and Future World—"
"You think the sign—"
The two blinked and laughed.
Early this morning, the staff of the Ministry of Magic sent a notice to every shop in Diagon Alley, inviting all shopkeepers to come to Sword Castle to discuss important matters this weekend. But they had the inside scoop earlier, when Penello (the twins now love her to death and affectionately call her 'Percy's Quest') revealed that Percy has been busy finishing a long report on magic It is a trade plan between the future of the world and Muggles. The product list covers potions, books, magic items, clothing, food and other categories.
This is a large-scale project, involving various aspects, with so many details and trivialities that it can make the head of a first-time reader feel two big.
"This matter cannot be bypassed by Future World Company. Lupine and I applied to be in charge of this part of the work," Penello said grumpily, "Otherwise I may not be able to meet your brother in a few years... oh, I am now What to do? To criticize his report, of course!"
"Obviously, she enjoyed it," Fred concluded.
Since wizarding and Muggle negotiations haven't really started yet, this is only the first step of the whole plan.
Outside Weasley's Wizard's Wheezes, Tonks, Ron, and Collins came in after several guests, talking and laughing.
"The security mission has been cancelled," Tonks said kindly, with pink hair, and he was in a good mood. "Everyone was worried before. Scrimgeour persuaded Ms. Burns not to take risks, but she still insisted... ...Fortunately, the result is good." After speaking, she looked around with great interest.
"What's the matter with the dragon?" Fred asked.
"Say it was an accident, in disrepair or something," said Ron.
"That doesn't sound convincing," George said.
"It can't be that they had a fight inside, right?" Ron shrugged, took out a wizard chess piece from his pocket, and let it rotate at his fingertips.
Fred raised an eyebrow.
"If I went to check the dancing wizard chess in the shop now, wouldn't there be a knight missing?"
"Just look for it." Ron said, "By the way, I just wanted to say that I became an Animagus...Did Ginny report to you?"
"You became an Animagus?" Collins said in surprise.
Tonks was half a beat behind, reluctantly looking away from a doll that could hit people, and asked in confirmation: "Animagus?" Her hair began to transition to a dazzling violet.
"Easy," said Ron, pretending not to care.
"That's to the point," George said, nodding, "Everyone I know..." He turned his head to look at Fred, "How many are there? Harry, Hermione, Neville, the Abbott family Little girl, I can't count."
"I don't know, but Cedric has been holding on to "Transfiguration Today" recently." Fred replied with a straight face.
The raised hair on Ron's head fell down.
"Can you not dismantle your brother's desk?" Ron complained softly when Tonks and Collins picked out the products in the store with great interest.
Fred and George looked at each other and said in unison, "I'm sorry—no."
Ron raised the wizard chess piece in his hand and muttered, "Did you see these two guys? Remember their nasty faces. I will get revenge sooner or later, but it's all up to you."
……
The dragon flew all the way to the north, enjoying the hard-won freedom to the fullest.Felix stood on its broad back, healed the dragon's bloody wound with magic, shaved off the chain, and then opened his eyes to look at the scene in the clouds.
He caressed the long spikes on the dragon's back with one hand, looking like a captain leaning on a mast.
"Fly steady," he ordered.
They passed gray and green towns and fields, and soon the scenery became monotonous and repetitive.Felix called the Niffler out of his silver pocket watch to play cards.Having had the experience of riding a flying carpet in the North Pole, Varun quickly adapted to it and ran around excitedly on the dragon's back. The huge spikes were like pillars to it.
"You lost again, Varen." Felix said triumphantly.
Varen's black eyes stared at the air in front of him, and the phantom of Nixiu, which was conjured from the wizard card, was knocked into the air by a plain and simple spell. It smacked its lips, feeling something was wrong, and looked at Felix suspiciously.
"I didn't cheat," Felix swore.
Varun flicked the cards in his hand indiscriminately, trying to find a flaw. This is a new deck, and some new cards have been added to the original one. The Great Demon King said that it is to increase the playability. This is true. Varen found a lot of cards that were shining golden when the effects were activated, and he liked them very much.
But after playing there, its winning rate plummeted.
"Ha!"
Varen couldn't think of the reason himself, so he decided to find a chance to ask Hermione. The height of the sun lowered again, and the golden light on the clouds gradually dimmed. The dragon began to descend, and Varun ran to the top of the dragon's head. Its weight was like a feather, and it had no effect on the dragon at all.
Varun recognized a group of majestic castle buildings among the mountains.
Felix patted the dragon's back, "Your identity is a bit sensitive. Uh, it's not a big deal, but in order to reduce trouble, I will put a cover on you before sending you to Charlie."
The dragon roared to show that he understood.
I will listen to you.
Then its size began to shrink sharply. Varen hurried back, climbed onto Felix's shoulder and looked down. The dragon, which was as big as a small square, shrank from sixty to seventy feet long to half, and soon even It was hard to get a foothold.
The giant dragon whimpered twice, trying to open its cloudy eyes wide.
"Don't worry." Standing in the air next to it, Felix comforted casually, and then issued an instruction, "Put the wings away."
The dragon—not really a dragon now, it seemed to be only twice the size of Varen. The shrunken dragon folded its wings obediently, then fell straight down, and was caught by Felix. With its wings folded, it looked even smaller, even a little pathetic.
Felix fell downwards. When he reached a certain height, he made several gestures with his free hand. Hogwarts' defenses did not stop him, and he continued to fall.
Inside the castle, Professor McGonagall flipped through the documents. She had just contacted Mrs. Maxime, and the two exchanged the defense measures and start time of their respective schools. The European Ministry of Magic has also gradually put aside the International Federation of Wizards and contacted the Muggle government.
She heard a knock on the window and looked up to see Felix waving at her from the window.
"You are now the vice-principal, Felix." Professor McGonagall pushed open the window angrily, staring at him as he came in from the outside. Varen had already jumped down first, far away from Felix, and he didn't want to accompany him. together to be trained.
Professor McGonagall brought Felix over and said angrily as he walked, "...what if someone sees you, and what are you holding in your hand?"
"A lizard." Felix said calmly, blowing two sparks from the dragon's nose.
Professor McGonagall ignored his nonsense, lowered her head to look carefully at the creature flapping its wings blankly on the small table, and then her two eyebrows were furrowed together.
"Is this... a dragon? Or a Ukrainian iron belly?"
"Hey, if anyone else asks, I'll just say it's a mutant lizard, and there are some questions about its origin." Felix said honestly, and Professor McGonagall stared at him with an expression of not giving up until he got an answer. "Well, it's from Gringotts." He explained the situation briefly.
Professor McGonagall first frowned, and then opened his eyebrows.
"The Fairy Brotherhood, another subversive group of goblins operating in secret?" The so-called subversion is naturally subverting wizards.
"Not at all," Felix shook his head, "at least they are openly active, and the ideas they promote do not advocate violence, at least on the surface." He said to Professor McGonagall: "This is already rare among elves. "
Cross-eyed Boderick didn't want the peace talks to go smoothly, and deliberately caused the dragon guarding the vault to make some noise. Of course, he didn't care if a few wizards would die during this process, it was an accident anyway.Felix didn't care either.
Professor McGonagall was not involved in the Ministry of Magic. After knowing that it would not affect the negotiations with the goblin, she turned around and talked about other things.
"The situation of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang is similar to ours. Their Ministry of Magic is in secret contact with the Muggle government, and the news has not been made public." She glanced at Felix with a smile, "Your previous two Today's actions not only affect the decision-making of the United Kingdom, but also affect other countries."
Felix nodded, the result was as expected.
As the first Ministry of Magic to openly communicate with the Muggle government, Hogwarts and the British Ministry of Magic have attracted the attention of the world, including the International Federation of Wizards and Wizards. The result of the negotiation came out.
If it is acceptable, then the negotiations in the near future may become a benchmark for communication between the magic world and the non-magic world.Felix met many observers from other countries at the Ministry of Magic these two days.
"Besides, Waggadu referred to Hogwarts' practice and built a shelter around the school, where some wizards whose identities were exposed temporarily lived there."
"The semi-public psychics, fortune tellers, and occult sects?"
"I heard that even Muggles who juggle have received a lot of harassment." Professor McGonagall said strangely, "There are also some wizards staying in the tribe, which is relatively exclusive and outsiders can't get in. Brazil's Castrobushe magic The school is hidden in the tropical rainforest, and the conditions are harsh, so there is no need to worry about it for the time being."
"And Ilvermorny? You missed this school."
"Ilvermorny is different from other schools." Professor McGonagall showed a trace of worry on his face, "The living environment of wizards is not optimistic-you know, little wizards will always behave a little differently, and the local nuisance Melons—they are called No-Majs—also launched a campaign to find wizards around them..." She shook her head, "Some companies openly advertise in newspapers to recruit wizards; of course, there are also those who oppose it. Groups with a religious nature have sprung up like mushrooms after rain, some registered and some secretly operating."
"So the Magical Congress of America had to order the recall of all students to avoid accidents."
Felix thought for a moment, "The problem of wizards in America is difficult to solve, and now is not the time. After Amelia initially reaches an agreement with the Muggle government, it will be promoted in the name of the International Federation of Wizards - the existence of the Federation Much of the meaning was lost with the complete failure of the Secrecy Act, and a new rationale must be found for it."
"What function do you want it to perform?" asked Professor McGonagall.
"From the previous hidden wizards to reconcile the relationship between wizards and non-wizards, formulate laws and regulations that adapt to the world." Felix said.
A trace of confusion flashed in Professor McGonagall's eyes. She was unfamiliar with that future. She glanced at the fire dragon who was trying to adapt to her new body shape. The confusion in her eyes gradually disappeared, and she became firm again.
Felix's eyes turned to the portraits of previous headmasters on the wall in the office, and he walked up to a golden frame, in which Dumbledore winked at him.
"Can you say a quip or two now that I haven't heard?" Felix asked.
"This test is not acceptable," said Dumbledore in the portrait, smiling. "There are so many ways to get away with it."
Felix looked him over. "Also, want me to add a candy store to your drawing?"
Dumbledore laughed again. "Oh, no need, the little ones at Hogwarts - the students of the Magic Painting Club have drawn a huge Hogsmeade scroll, which not only has Honeydukes, but also Lady Puddife's teahouse and the three broomsticks .The painting is hanging in the prize room."
Felix nodded, he thought for a while and said.
"...The Resurrection Stone was destroyed after you left, and the things you gave to Snape are still in his hands. He has a new job, which may last more than ten years."
Dumbledore said slightly distressed, "So, Severus' retirement plan had to be postponed?" But his expression was not sincere, and he even looked a little gloating.
"I think so," said Felix.
"One more thing," he said, "Aberforth is going to sell the Hog's Head, and when school starts, Classroom Seven and the Slytherin Chamber will be reopened, both of which need someone to keep an eye on."
"I hope he can sell the pub for a good price," said Dumbledore.
Felix smiled, "Unless he cleans the room well, I can smell sheep every time I pass by, and the floor doesn't seem to have been cleaned in hundreds of years—so don't get your hopes up."
"For those who are suffering, hope is a precious thing." Dumbledore said calmly, his eyes looked at Professor McGonagall.
