Chapter 121 The Watcher

All of Hogsmeade is now full of Aurors on patrol.

Sherlock walked all the way to Hogwarts, and has encountered interrogation three times, including Tonks once.

She had just left the status of an intern. Normally speaking, her main task should be doing odd jobs in the office, but now there is a shortage of people, so she was also sent out.

Such a large number of Aurors gathered in Hogsmeade, of course not only to catch the murderer from Germany, the most important thing is to arrest Black.

After all, although there have been seven known attacks, five of them were Muggles, and only two wizards have died. This is not enough to overshadow Black's escape from prison.

But anyone who knows the inside story knows that the assault case is actually far more troublesome than Black's case.

Because of this case that happened in the UK, so far the British Aurors have not grasped any key clues, and the most important information is on the three German Aurors.

Sherlock didn't know if the German Ministry of Magic had shared the murderer's information with the British side.

For arresting Black, they could only think of waiting around Hogwarts, and finding the murderer of the attack seemed to be on Hogsmeade's side as well.

The two things gathered together at Hogwarts, which created a sense of urgency even before the semester started this year.

Sherlock walked to the end of the street in Hogsmeade, and just as he was about to walk towards the gate of Hogwarts, he suddenly found a big black dog curled up next to a trash can in an alley.

The dog looked like a stray dog, but it was very big, with smooth fur, and it was obvious that it had been carefully raised before being abandoned.

The dog only caught his attention briefly, Sherlock was not an animal protection enthusiast, and had no intention of adopting it.

Walking into the gate of Hogwarts, the school is still very deserted at this time, but dementors can already be seen on both sides of the gate.

When Sherlock was entering the door, they floated over to check him.

He didn't fight back, and the two dementors stared into his face, as if to make sure he was the same Black who had escaped.

And at this moment, a cold and desperate breath suddenly spread from one of the dementors, and Sherlock could clearly feel the temperature on his body drop, and at the same time, the positive emotions in his body were being sucked out .

The moment he realized the problem, he drew out his wand without hesitation!
"Call God for protection."

Silver brilliance wins!
Countless silver threads of light spewed out from the tip of his wand!

The two dementors let out a silent scream, and the gray robes on them were constantly wearing away under the continuous erosion of the silver light.

Only when their bodies had begun to become illusory and might be completely wiped out at any time did they barely escape from the entanglement of those silver threads of light.

They fluttered away in embarrassment, not even daring to look back at Sherlock.

"Things that bully the weak and fear the hard." Sherlock sneered.

Judging from the behavior of these dementors now, he can be sure that if they keep stationed around Hogwarts, there will be trouble this semester.

They are used to being bold and reckless, and here, unlike Azkaban, there will always be rations to fill their stomachs, so they are very likely to make radical moves.

But Sherlock doesn't need to worry about this matter for the time being, Dumbledore should understand this matter better than him.

Sherlock walked into the castle, and as soon as he came to the foyer on the first floor, he met Professor McGonagall who was frowning as if he was thinking about something.

"Good morning, Professor McGonagall." Sherlock greeted.

When Professor McGonagall saw him, her brows immediately relaxed, and there was a gentle smile on her face that she usually wouldn't show.

"Good morning, Sherlock. You came just in time. After you put your things away, you need to go to the principal's office. The password is lemonade. Albus needs to see you."

Sherlock nodded, signaling that he understood.

He and Professor McGonagall separated in the foyer and came to his office on the third floor to put things away.

Even after not being back in two months, there wasn't much to clean here, and the house-elves in the castle did the usual cleaning.

Then he walked out of the office and walked along the corridor on the third floor to the end, in front of the stone monster at the entrance of the principal's office.

"Password." The stone monster asked in a muffled voice.

"Lemonade," Sherlock replied.

In fact, it is very simple to sneak into the principal's office. Just mention Dumbledore's favorite sweets, and one of them must be the correct password.

The stone monster jumped out of the entrance to make way for him.

Sherlock walked in, then walked up the spiral staircase to the eighth floor, opened the door and walked into the principal's office.

Dumbledore was lying on the seat with his eyes closed, as if thinking about something.

The headmasters in the portraits on the wall are still snoring slightly, they seem to be unable to wake up at any time, and Fox is combing his bright red feathers with a sharp beak on the golden branch beside him.

After hearing the movement, Dumbledore opened his eyes, and he looked at Sherlock who walked in, with a smile on his face.

"Have you had a good holiday?"

Sherlock sat opposite Dumbledore, and a cup of steaming black tea automatically appeared in front of him.

"It's really not bad. It's okay to play in France. The food there is much better than here."

"I received a letter from Nick, in which he told me the whole story. You and Harry actually got the French Wizarding Friendship Medal issued by the French Ministry of Magic."

Dumbledore looked a little surprised, obviously he didn't expect that Sherlock would have such an experience with Harry at the beginning.

Sherlock waved his hand and said.

"We didn't expect such a thing to happen. The thief who stole the magic wand was really bold. He even dared to pretend to be Nick Flamel. If it wasn't for him wanting to be a human trafficker and I found out the problem, maybe it would be real. Let him succeed."

They talked for a while about their experiences during the holiday, and then Dumbledore opened his mouth to explain why he had come here.

"When you arrived at Hogsmeade, you should have seen the situation there."

Sherlock nodded.

"The troublesome things are all piled up, and the problems are all happening on the Hogwarts side."

Dumbledore's blue eyes darkened, half-moon eyes reflecting white light.

"Blake's matter is still easy to solve, but the assault case is a big problem."

He clearly sees it better than most.

"You also met that Ms. Silke last semester. She came to Hogwarts to find me at the beginning of the time, and said that she would temporarily live in the castle."

Sherlock frowned.

"She thought the murderer would come to Hogwarts."

"It's not that she thinks." Dumbledore shook his head and said meaningfully, "It's that she saw that thing would come to Hogwarts."

Sherlock was slightly taken aback.

Dumbledore's words seemed a bit inexplicable, but Sherlock thought of seeing the true face of Ms. Silk in front of the two tombs in the Forbidden Forest at the end of last semester.

What he remembers most is the eyes covered by ribbons.

"She's... a master prophecy?"

"In some respects, she can see more than us." Dumbledore didn't say it clearly, but he actually admitted what he said in disguise.

Sherlock asked suspiciously.

"Last time, I was curious. Isn't she a wizard from Germany? Why did you agree to bury her father's grave in the Forbidden Forest at Hogwarts?"

Hearing Sherlock's question, Dumbledore had a nostalgic look on his face, and he said softly.

"Ms. Silk's father used to be an Auror of the British Ministry of Magic. He died on duty more than ten years ago. It was her mother who took her to Germany."

After hearing what Dumbledore said, Sherlock didn't ask any more questions.

The Auror who died on duty more than ten years ago could still make Dumbledore show such an expression, it could only have died in the struggle against Voldemort.

It is not surprising that this would agree to have his grave buried in the Forbidden Forest.

"I agreed to her request to live in Hogwarts, but I also asked her to have someone follow her when she investigates this case."

"This is also what Fudge asked of me. He is worried about these three German wizards. They have repeatedly asked the German side to share the murderer's information with them, but the German Ministry of Magic is always looking for excuses to delay."

"The Aurors of the Ministry of Magic are in short supply right now, not only to investigate Black's affairs, but also to maintain normal order in the magic world. So he hopes that I can send a professor to monitor their movements at all times, in case they will make any mistakes. Something harmful to the interests of the British wizarding community."

Sherlock understood what Dumbledore meant, and he chose the watcher as him.

"What about my teaching job at the school?"

Dumbledore had clearly made arrangements.

"Your teaching assistant this year, Remus Lupine, is probably already on the Hogwarts Express. With him, your teaching tasks will not be so heavy, and you will have more time to distract yourself from other things."

Speaking of this, Dumbledore suddenly said with a smile.

"I would also like to congratulate you, Sherlock. Under your guidance last year, the students all achieved excellent results in Defense Against the Dark Arts in the General Wizarding Examination and the Ultimate Wizarding Examination last semester. Everyone is above A , more than 80% of the students even got O and E (from high to low are O, E, A (pass line), P, D, T).”

"That's why I suggest that this year's Defense Against the Dark Arts class, you can focus on the upper grades. Those students are under greater exam pressure, and the lower grades are temporarily handed over to Lupine."
