Chapter 14: There is usually a chatterbox in the protagonist team
Tread. Tread.
Heavy footsteps were heard in the dim and silent underground tunnel. Bright yellow light shone from the corner onto the other side of the wall. Dirty dirt had soaked the green moss into a thick black color.

"Look at the mud all over my feet. The dirty water has soaked into my shoes. This is disgusting. He didn't tell us that this tunnel would be so dirty. It's no different from a sewer pipe."

Toller tried to liven up the tense atmosphere, with the dark and deep underground pipes and the marching team of four, all the elements needed for a horror movie were gathered together.

"It's really abnormal. How can domestic wastewater be discharged into a tunnel dug by humans?"

Rant squatted on the ground and rubbed up some stinking mud with his fingers. Under the bright light of the tactical flashlight, he could clearly see tiny pieces of kitchen waste mixed in it, which were meat scraps and beans.

"Be careful, I have a bad feeling."

Rand said worriedly.

The four-man team continued to advance towards the Crownguard Manor. The tactical flashlight swept across the dirty walls, and a bottomless darkness caught everyone's attention.

The dark hole was attached to the wall like an abyss, and bricks and rock fragments were scattered on the ground.

"It was a landslide. Judging from the location, the hole should be leading to a pipe that processes domestic wastewater."

Mia said to her teammates after observing.

"No wonder it stinks in here, it turns out it has really become a sewer. Let's go quickly, I want to vomit out my breakfast." Toller covered his mouth and nose with his hands, looking disgusted.

"I've been wanting to ask you this for a long time, Toler, do you have to talk so much?"

Mia shone the flashlight on Toler's face, and the glaring light forced him to turn his head.

"You must have rarely watched movies. The difference between the main character team and the supporting character team is that there is a chatterbox in the team who likes to complain."

Toler explained.

No one is not afraid of war, it’s just that the ways of dealing with it are different. Toler uses this method to comfort himself and pray for his teammates at the same time.

Mia rolled her eyes at him.

The team continued to advance.

drop.
The sound of dripping water was loud in the quiet underground tunnel.

Rand suddenly raised his arm, signaling his teammates to stop.

He made a gesture to keep quiet, and the beam of the tactical flashlight moved forward along the veins and cracks of the bricks and stones. A pair of yellow pupils slowly turned under the light, trying to find fresh flesh and blood to devour.

"Roar"

The zombie with a hideous and terrifying face let out a low roar, and walked towards the light source. His pace became faster and faster, from staggering steps to a brisk run.

"Oh no"

Behind the zombie, countless pairs of bloodthirsty eyes opened and stared blankly at the four people not far away, although they were roaring madly because of the crazy hunger in their bodies.

Sharp roars rose and fell, echoing throughout the deep underground passage. The accumulated water on the ground trembled slightly, and the collapsed structure was gradually expanding.

"Retreat! Retreat! Retreat!"

Rand was almost crazy. Without their power armor, it was impossible for them to fight against such a large number of zombies.

Dense footsteps sounded in the corridor, accompanied by rapid gunfire. The dense footsteps not only did not decrease, but became more and more frequent.

The zombies lurking in the sewers rushed out from the landslide site frantically. Driven by their inner hunger, they pounced on Lant and others, one after another, without fear of life or death.

"If this continues, the whole army will be wiped out!"

Tough guy Willis threw a plasma grenade, and the exploding plasma melted dozens of zombies into a pool of sticky flesh and blood.

"Willis, what are you doing!"

Rant roared.

Willis stopped and faced the group of zombies. He pointed to the landslide next to him, which was the one they discovered at first. No zombies came out of it.

"Hide inside, I'll lead those beasts away." "You're committing suicide!" Lant grabbed his collar and yelled angrily.

"There is no better way, my captain!"

Lant almost bit his back teeth to pieces, and with red eyes he took the lead and crawled into the landslide.

"Hey! You bunch of beasts, here's some delicious low-fat muscle!"

Willis cut a gash on the back of his hand with a dagger. The sweet smell of blood filled the air. Stimulated by the smell of blood, the zombies rushed towards Willis like crazy.

Mia gritted her teeth and covered her mouth, trying not to cry out.

The tide of corpses gradually thinned out, and when the last few monsters disappeared around the corner, Rant and the other two climbed out of the landslide.

"Mission.Continue"

The three of them continued on their way without saying a word.

Galen's secret laboratory.

Lux squatted in the corner and sobbed, her eyes red and swollen.

She really wanted to know what happened to her parents and when her brother would come back.

She was so scared and lonely. As the little princess of the Mianwei family, she had never experienced such despair.

That day, Nabe was blocked by her mother in her room and a sharp dagger pierced her skin.

She waited for death desperately, but the dagger did not go any deeper. It was not until a drop of hot tear fell on her cheek that she decided to open her eyes.

She saw a tearful face. It was the familiar mother who came back.

She wanted to hug her mother tightly, maybe her mother would not treat her like that again.

However, Ogatha pushed her away, slammed the door open in pain and left.

"Lacus, hide, hide quickly!"

These were the last words Ogatha said to her.

Then, she hid in her brother's secret laboratory. He had told her before that in case of a crisis, this laboratory would be the safest place in the entire Demacia.

Galen did not lie to her. When the laboratory door was closed, Ogasha's hoarse voice appeared outside the laboratory again, luring her out with gentle words.

But Lux was never fooled, and the angry Ogatha let out a crazy and shrill roar.

Then, the whole laboratory shook.

Fortunately, the experimental pseudo-Geller force field that Galen left in the laboratory worked.

The Emperor instilled a lot of Imperial science and technology into his brain, and the Geller force field was one of them.

It essentially forms a bubble-like force field in real space-time around the laboratory, using its warp drive to penetrate the immaterial layer between the material universe and the warp.

Since entities native to the non-material cannot breach its boundaries into the material universe except in certain very specific circumstances, beings native to the Warp are repelled from the confines of the Gellar Field.

The vibration lasted for an hour, and with an unwilling roar, Ogatha fled in defeat.

Knock knock~
There was another knock on the door, and Lux's heart began to tense up.

"Hello, Miss Laxana. I am Lanter from the Demon Hunter Team. I am here to see you on the orders of Legion Commander Galen. Please open the door."

"Liar! I won't open the door!"

Rand: “????”
