Warhammer: This Galen's Heart of Steel

Chapter 34 Materialistic Scientific Behemoth

Chapter 34 Materialistic Scientific Behemoth

Nidhogg is an apex predator that lives on the top of Balkan icebergs, feeding on the most terrifying and juicy sea dragons in the Arctic Ocean.

These giant sea serpents only appear during the most violent sea storms, and Nidhogg has the power to control the raging storms.

The Dreadnought was hovering in the troposphere. The hurricane roared past, but it could not shake this steel monster at all.

Two hoverbikes rushed out from the bridge. These vehicles, weighing over a ton on average, were equipped with powerful engines that allowed the armored Space Marines to move forward at high speeds. They also had high-response control units for dealing with complex battlefields, and anti-gravity devices allowed them to break free of the constraints of the planet's gravity and soar into the sky.

Equipped with heavy bolters or multi-meltas on the sidecar, the heavy weapons and maneuverability of the assault bike allow them to deploy large amounts of heavy firepower to where it is needed most.

The two Primarchs drove their motorcycles violently into one end of the cloud of sharp ice crystals and rushed out from the other end.

The accelerator was stepped to the top, the speed could not be faster, they ignored the airflow that was squeezed into sharp blades at high speed, and searched every cloud with the highest efficiency.

“Wuhu——!”

Garen held the Axe of Winter high, stood up from his motorcycle, and faced a giant bird flying towards him with its bloody mouth wide open.

He exerted force with his muscular leg muscles and kicked hard on the heavy metal pedals of the motorcycle. The whole person shot out like a sharp arrow. The exaggerated speed even left a series of sonic boom clouds behind him.

"Roar--!"

The giant bird was not afraid of this tiny creature. It adjusted its posture and opened its huge mouth, ready to swallow the dish that was delivered to its door automatically.

Puff-!
The sharp axe blade cut through the giant bird's body, which was as hard as stone, like a hot knife cutting through butter. The hot blood splattered, but within a second it was frozen into cool white ice crystals by the extremely cold climate of Fenris and shot down to the sea below.

The Primarch flipped in the air, aimed at the speeding motorcycle, and landed accurately on the driver's seat.

The wolf king stepped on the spurt of the horse and rode side by side with his brothers. His face was excited, his mouth was wide open, and his nose twitched from time to time.

"I smell the scent of that beast. It's nearby. It can't run away. It will die in your hands today!"

The big dog's nose was really good. Garen was glad that he had persuaded the wolf king to follow him, otherwise it would have been difficult to find Nidhogg's trace.

Just as he finished his words, a huge black shadow swept across the clouds and swooped down over the two Primarchs at an astonishing speed.

"Hahaha, hahaha"

Garen looked at the huge black shadow that covered the sky above his head and couldn't help laughing crazily. The horrifying sound waves spread, and the surrounding dark gray clouds directly exploded into a huge round pit.

"My axe is thirsty!"

He controlled the handlebars of the motorcycle with one hand, and in his free right palm held the Winter Axe that shone like obsidian. The motorcycle suddenly flipped sideways and flew into the sky at a high speed.

"That's my axe—!"

Leman Russ stepped up to catch up.

Above the sea of clouds, Garen finally saw the true face of the giant beast rolling in the vast sea of clouds.

Nidhogg has a huge body shaped like a python, covered with jet-black scales as hard as metal. It has the head of a horse and a deer, with sharp horns behind its head and claws on both ends of its torso.

With its appearance, strong winds and heavy rain came together, and the dazzling lightning flooded its entire body. The two sharp claws at the front grabbed the materialized thick lightning plasma and circled to fly higher.

Garen pressed the fire button, and the Astartes grenade launchers installed on both sides of the motorcycle spewed out two grenades with amazing power.

boom--!
A dazzling crimson explosion light wave lit up among the gloomy clouds, and the spherical explosion light wave expanded rapidly, engulfing a small part of Nidhogg's body.

Before the explosion subsided, a black body twisted and flew out from the red light wave, with blue-purple plasma wrapped under its scales, and its huge fin-like tail fanned towards Galen like a fan. The Primarch's tall figure was as small as an ant in front of this fin-like tail.

Garen turned the car around and advanced instead of fleeing, wielding the Axe of Winter in one hand to meet the attack. The axe blade collided with the scales, and the dragon's tail was knocked away in the sparks.

The Wolf King Leman Russ had circled around Nidhogg's head at some point. He jumped off the motorcycle and grabbed its dragon horns tightly with both arms.

"Roar--!"

Nidhogg roared, and his spiritual power surged. His huge dragon horns were like antennas. The lightning plasma that had been deposited in the frozen clouds for thousands of years seemed to be pulled and rushed towards the Wolf King like a turbulent river.

Leman Russ had no masochistic hobby. He took out a bolter called the Spurner from his waist. This weapon was somewhat similar to the later Storm Bolter, but it was not as integrated as the latter. It was more like a product of two bolters put together.

The wolf king aimed at the dragon's exposed eyeball and pulled the trigger. With an extremely shrill roar, the lightning gathered in the clouds exploded, and the hot and corrosive blood dyed the sky red.

Nidhogg rolled violently, and terrifying lightning shot out from under every scale like a whip.

Leman Russ lost his grip and fell from the dragon's head. His huge body fell from the sky at an extremely fast speed, like a bright meteor.

Boom-!
The Wolf King landed steadily on the back seat of Garen's motorcycle, bared his teeth, pulled out the Siren's Bite, and looked up at the horrible monster hovering in the dark clouds.

"You haven't thanked me yet."

Garen drove the motorcycle at high speed among the clouds.

"Wait till I kill this beast, then I'll start with you!"

The horrific battle of doom lasted for a whole week, with tearing dragon roars, raging thunder and storms, and exploding light waves continuing.

This scene was recorded on parchment by the nomadic tribes on the ice field. The picture of the two primarchs fighting the dragon will be recorded on parchment. History will one day become a myth.

The sharp sword and the giant axe struggled to break through the hard dragon scales, and something surprising happened. A blue flame burst out from the wound and spread rapidly. The dragon let out a mournful cry and fell down.

The two Primarchs stood on their motorcycles, not understanding why a tiny wound could lead to the death of the vicious enemy they had fought hard for a week.

The Fearless Vanguard recovered Nidhogg's body. Galen rarely put on his white coat and walked into the laboratory to dissect a section of the dragon's corpse.

He discovered that Nidhogg's dragon scales were arranged in an orderly manner and could move, and that the fibrous tissue under the scales had a good ability to conduct psychic energy.

Galen recalled that the dragon's scales opened and closed while it was flying. He suspected that this was the dragon's way of expelling the heat accumulated in its body due to the massive use of psychic energy.

He peeled off some never-before-seen vesicle tissues from the dragon's body and speculated that this was the key to the dragon's ability to fly.

Combining the dragon's previous behavior of breathing in flames, he detected air, psionic energy, and hydrogen in the vesicle.

The dragon floats through the hydrogen vesicles in its body and changes its body density through the air vesicles, thereby achieving ascent and descent in the air.

The air bubbles can also pressurize the air to achieve thrust. Through the special effect of psychic energy, the dragon can have an incredible flying speed.

"This is a hydrogen dragon with a doctorate in both physics and psychic powers."

"You still haven't explained why it died suddenly after its scales were damaged."

The Wolf King stared at his Primarch brother in surprise. He didn't expect that he was actually a civil servant.

"Forget it, stop talking about it. This mythical monster has become so low-level when it comes to you."
