Chapter 36: More Monsters
The Chem-Baron Conference Building in Zaun.

Suddenly a window shattered, and a figure flew out of the window and fell into the building.

"Great ball! Nice home run!"

Harley Quinn laughed as she watched the clown zombie being hit away by her baseball bat.

"Which one is this? There don't seem to be many clown zombies wandering around on this floor."

Hilco and Babette followed closely behind.

Hilco's bodyguard Andrew walked at the back and was in charge of the rear guard. He was worried about the safety of his good brother, who was another bodyguard.

"There's the stairs ahead. Maybe we can go down and see if Mr. Lin and the others are still alive." Harley Quinn turned around and said with a carefree smile.

Suddenly she saw Hilco pointing a pistol at her.

"do not move!"

Hilco fired without further explanation, and Harley Quinn suddenly squatted down with her head in her hands.

However, the bullet was not aimed at her. Instead, it flew past her side and hit a Joker virus infected person who was close behind her.

The clown infected person was shot in the middle of the eyebrow and fell straight down.

"It's normal for you not to trust me. But in this situation, I still hope we can stick together."

Hilco shook his head, put away his pistol and strode forward.

“Hehe, I just…” Harley Quinn stuck out her tongue embarrassedly.

Seeing that Hilco was walking ahead of her, Harley Quinn quickly caught up with him and asked:

"Boss, where are we going?"

"Go to the next level and see if they are still alive. Don't look at me like that, I also care about the safety of my bodyguards." Hilco sneered.

Suddenly, the painful howls of wild beasts were heard from the lower level.

"Hurry up!" Hilco frowned and quickened his pace.

Soon they arrived at the next level.

The floor was filled with the smell of blood, and the corridors were littered with the corpses of those infected by the Joker.

"Kent! Kent!" Andrew, Hilco's bodyguard, saw the familiar figure, trotted a few steps and knelt beside the tall body.

Kent's body was covered with bloody claw marks of wild animals. Blood was spurting from the corners of his mouth. With his dying breath, he raised his hand and pointed at the elevator shaft.

"Mr. Lin, holding... that monster... jumped, jumped... down. Monster... no... more than..."

Kent died before he could finish his words.

Andrew, a big man who was almost two meters tall, was crying like a baby at this moment.

Hilco folded his hands over his chest in deep thought, not disturbing the bodyguard's crying.

Harley Quinn was fearless and rashly lay down in front of the elevator shaft and shone the flashlight downwards.

"Mr. Lin, are you okay?" Even with a flashlight, Harley Quinn couldn't see what was at the bottom of the bottomless elevator shaft.

"Awoo! Awoo! Awoo!" Harley Quinn howled towards the elevator shaft like a wolf.

"You're crazy! Don't attract the monster here!" The procuress Babette pulled Harley Quinn back in horror.

"Hehe, I heard that wolves will respond to the howl of the wolf king. I just want to give it a try."

"Let's go, it's not safe here. Once we escape, I'll arrange for someone to come back and collect his body."

Hilco patted Andrew on the shoulder and said. Andrew wiped his tears and stood up.

"What he just said makes me concerned. There are more than one monster? What does this mean?" Hillco walked towards the stairs thoughtfully.

"Maybe it's because these monsters keep coming back after we kill one batch after another, and it's really annoying!" Harley Quinn smiled and didn't take it seriously at all.

She extracted some substances from the dead people infected with the Joker virus as samples for the subsequent development of an antidote for the virus.

The rest of the way was much easier to walk, although there were many virus-infected people wandering around on every floor.

But Hilco and his group walked down the narrow stairwell without stopping, and they only had to deal with the few crazy people wandering around the stairwell.

Soon they arrived at the bottom floor, where the elevator door had been violently blown away, and a dead werewolf lay in a bloody mess at the elevator entrance.

"Is this the monster we saw? It looks like Mr. Lin really killed him. If he is still alive, then I can abide by the agreement and withdraw the wanted order for him."

Hilco walked over and cut off one of the werewolf's claws, apparently intending to take it back and make it into a dagger.

Harley Quinn checked the elevator shaft and didn't see Lin Zizhi, so she looked at the werewolf in front of her.

"Wait, something's not right."

"What's wrong?" Hilco collected the wolf's claws in a bag and put it in his pocket.

"He's smaller than the one we've seen, and he doesn't have a fluid tank on his back! The monster we've seen relied on a fluid tank to provide the mutant glimmer potion, so it should be an artificial creation, but this thing looks like an ordinary mutant beast." Harley Quinn retreated vigilantly.

Hilco also realized something was wrong and turned away.

At this moment, they suddenly heard a terrifying wolf howl that resounded through the sky, followed by wave after wave of wolf howls.

Monsters! More than one!
Hilco finally understood Kevin's last words before he died.

"Damn it, why did Zaun suddenly become like this?" Hilco cursed inwardly and ran out quickly with Harley Quinn and the others.

At first, Hilco didn't take the biohazard caused by the virus leak seriously.

Those infected with the Joker virus were not very strong and were no match for his glimmer users.

The only thing that needs to be watched out for is the Laughing Virus infected people, especially those like Laughing Finn. The strong ones among them can even fight against the Alchemical Prosthetics-transformed Sevika, and the weaker ones can also cause some trouble to the Alchemical Glimmer Guard.

However, the transformation of that thing seems to have certain limitations, and the quantity will not be too large.

As for the alchemical monster that suddenly appeared, it was the one that gave Xierko a headache. That thing had obvious signs of artificial modification.

He seemed to be a man-made killing machine. His fighting ability was terrifying. The Alchemy Glimmer Guards were no match for him at all.

Now he found that there was more than one of these things. This gave Xierko a headache. What kind of force could create such a terrifying army of monsters right under his nose?

What is their purpose and whether their actions are related to the virus leak are issues that the gangster godfather of Zaun's underground forces must consider.

Just as they were escaping the building, a Zaun wrath beast descended from the sky, its pneumatic steel claws leaving three terrifying scratches on the ground.

The huge tank behind him pumped alchemically synthesized anger hormones into his body, which, combined with special potions from another world, made his body even larger and his face even more hideous and terrifying.

The sight of that huge and sturdy figure aroused the nightmare in Hilco's heart.

He thought of Fandel, whom he had seen in the poisonous river.

"No, impossible!" Hilco lost his composure, his expression distorted by anger.

"Who are you?" Hilco asked through gritted teeth.

"I was the first person I killed. You created this monster!" The bloodthirsty monster that looked like a werewolf opened its scarlet eyes.
