Batman's Owl Godfather
Chapter 19 The Boy Who Lived
Chapter 19 The Boy Who Lived
Time flies by.
Ever since Jason attacked Bruce last time, he seemed to have gone dormant and has never shown up again.
I don't know if he gave up because he couldn't solve the magic, or if he was brewing some bigger plan.
All in all, Bruce spent a relatively peaceful six months, and no other DC villains even came to hunt him down.
Of course, it is also possible that they came but just didn’t find the target.
After all, not every villain knows that Batman's real name is Bruce Wayne.
The eleven-year-old Bruce has entered the growth spurt. His body has grown like a stick and he is now a head taller than Hermione.
On the morning of September 1st, Mrs. Granger checked Hermione and Bruce's luggage again and again, making sure nothing was left out before leaving.
The car drove all the way to King's Cross Station.
"Remember Hermione, you must take good care of your brother at school and don't let others bully him!"
After hearing her mother's instructions, Hermione couldn't help but glance at Bruce.
Bruce Wayne being bullied?
Such niche words, Hermione couldn't even imagine what the picture was.
Katoom, who was standing on Bruce's shoulder, was a little dissatisfied: "Why only protect Bruce? Doesn't a handsome owl need protection?"
"Shut up," Bruce said.
Because of the contract, Bruce and Katum can communicate entirely through telepathy without being heard by anyone else.
And Katum spoke human language, which only Bruce could understand.
This means that when Katum keeps blabbering on about weird stuff, only Bruce will be tortured.
"Okay, you guys should get going."
They were going to Platform Nine and Three Quarters, and Hermione already knew how to get there when she received the acceptance letter.
Bruce pushed the cart behind Hermione, and together they passed through the wall between platforms nine and ten, and disappeared at King's Cross Station.
Mrs. Granger finally couldn't help sobbing.
Mr. Granger hugged his wife tightly and whispered comforting words.
"It's okay, they will be back for Christmas."
……
A crimson steam locomotive was parked next to the platform, and the wall where we came from had become a wrought iron archway.
A sign on the train read: Hogwarts Express.
Hermione and Bruce arrived early, and after they boarded the train, they found their compartment easily.
Bruce helped Hermione lift the luggage onto the luggage rack. They sat face to face as more and more people gathered outside the window.
You can hear a lot of noisy sounds and different people talking.
"Grandma, I lost my toad again!"
"Let us see it too, Li, hurry up."
"Oh my God, could it be that you are the one—"
However, Hermione could not hear these voices as she was thinking about her own things.
“They all brought their pets!”
Hermione looked at those people and was very unhappy. Mrs. Granger had used the excuse that Hermione was too young to refuse to buy her an owl.
But now seeing that other little wizards have their own pets, Hermione feels cheated.
Bruce comforted Hermione and said, "It's okay. If you need to send a letter, I can lend you Katoom."
"You are really good at doing favors." Katum's eyes widened. "Have you ever asked for my opinion? I am the Demon King, can I lend you money just by asking for it?" Bruce did not answer. He propped up his face and looked out the window, pretending to look at the scenery.
"Hello, you guys!"
Suddenly, the door of the compartment was pushed open and a timid voice was heard.
Bruce turned around and saw a round-faced boy standing outside the door with his head huddled. He looked like he was about to cry and said, "Can I sit here? The other boxes are all occupied by seniors..."
"Of course!" Hermione patted the empty seat next to her, "You can sit here."
The boy looked like he was saved and clumsily dragged his luggage in.
Hermione glared at Bruce, and he had no choice but to stand up and help the boy carry his luggage.
Katum whispered in Bruce's ear: "Tell him quickly that you are also a senior!"
Bruce ignored it.
After the luggage was put away, the boy sat next to Bruce. He looked worried, as if a disaster was about to happen.
It was Hermione who took the initiative to greet him: "My name is Hermione, Hermione Granger, and this is my cousin Bruce Wayne. What's your name and why do you look so troubled?"
"Hello, my name is Neville Longbottom."
Neville looked bitter. "I lost my toad. It was my pet. Uncle Algie bought it for me. If I can't find it, he will never let me go—"
By the end, Neville was almost crying.
Hermione quickly comforted her, "It's okay, it's okay. We can help you find it! Right, Bruce!"
What could Bruce say? He could only nod.
Sometimes, Bruce would wonder why the will of the world arranged a sister for him when it arranged an identity for him?
Even if it wasn't true, it seemed as if there was some blood suppression. Bruce always felt a breath short in front of Hermione.
The three children went to look for him separately, asking in each box one by one.
Every time Bruce opened a compartment, his image would immediately attract the attention of everyone in the box. If there were senior students inside, they would have to feed him some snacks.
Finally, he returned to the box with a bunch of snacks.
He was greeted by Katum's mockery: "Did you go begging? You didn't find any toads, but you did have lunch."
When Hermione and Neville came back, they also returned empty-handed, but Neville was in a much better mood, perhaps he had let it go.
"We just saw Harry Potter."
As soon as Hermione sat down, she began to share what she had just experienced.
"The boy who survived a catastrophe, the one who survived and made it into history books. He is mentioned in Modern History of Magic, The Rise and Fall of Dark Magic, and Important Magical Events of the 20th Century."
She repeatedly reminded Bruce of the other person's identity in preparation for what she was going to say next.
Hermione had just demonstrated her magic in front of Harry and his friends, which made her very excited and she couldn't wait to share it.
Sure enough, as long as Bruce is not around, I am no worse than others!
"Harry Potter."
Katum suddenly snorted and said, "Humph, another orphan!"
At this moment, Bruce clenched his fists and wanted to kill Katum.
Do you have to keep talking about orphans?
He glared at Katoom suddenly, wondering if there was a spell that could shut someone up forever.
This time, Katum seemed to be completely unaware of Bruce's anger.
"What are you looking at? Are you scared by Harry Potter's fame?"
Katum patted Bruce's shoulder and comforted him from the bottom of his heart, "It's okay, be confident, you are also the boy who survived the disaster!"
