He extracted many sentences from Hu Zhongzao's poems and misinterpreted them.

The sentence "Nandou sent me south, and Beidou sent me north" said that the author's southern and northern divisions intentionally created a confrontation between Manchu and Han.

In the sentence "Yicaiyi, the son of Yitian", it is disrespectful to use two "Yi" characters in the sentence of Tianzi, etc.

In addition, he also extracted the test questions Hu Zhongzao gave during the main examination, which contained "Gan Sanyao is not like the dragon theory", saying: "The year names of Qianlong and Zhen, dragon and long have the same pronunciation. This is obviously an intention to slander me."

He also accused E Chang of saying: "I was born in Manchuria, and I have served as a governor. Seeing such crimes of poetry and prose, I am not only ignorant of resentment, but also frantic. Singing with them is really a crime that cannot be punished."

As a result, Hu Zhongzao's house was ransacked, he was sentenced to Ling Chi, and later he was changed to abandon the city. Afterwards, countless people were implicated, either imprisoned, exiled, or beheaded, causing bloody chaos all over the city.

Wei Yuzhen, a student from Jiangsu, misused the word "pardon" in his writing and was sentenced to three hundred sentences and served three years in military service.

Cheng Mingyu, a student from Hubei, wrote a birthday letter for someone, using the words "creating a great cause", and was executed by Ling Chi, and his relatives were also implicated.
