Journey to Azeroth

Chapter 29 Police Station

Chapter 29 Police Station
The next morning, after breakfast, Carl came to the headquarters of the security office in the business district—Sword of Dawn in a panic.

Greeted the guard at the door, rushed into the Sword of Dawn, walked up to the second floor unimpeded, and kicked open the door of Dunn's office.

The table was covered with parchments, and Dunn's hair looked thinner than when we last met. At this time, he was holding a piece of parchment in one hand and drinking coffee from a wooden beer mug in the other.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, he raised his head blankly, with serious dark circles and dull eyes, staring blankly at Karl.

After a few seconds, he muttered, "Good morning, Carl."

His voice was dry, as if he hadn't uttered a sound for a long time.

"I'm not good!" Carl walked over, pulled the chair in front of the table, and sat down.

"Bad morning, Carl," Dunn realized after a few seconds, standing up and walking out of the office, "sorry, just hold on to me."

A few minutes later, Dunn came back from the outside. While wiping his face, Dunn returned to his seat, and his eyes seemed much clearer.

"What are you doing here?" Dunn asked listlessly.

"I'm here to complain!"

"Hahaha!" Dunn couldn't help laughing, and then said, "Stop talking nonsense, you'll be fine if people don't complain!!"

Carl rolled his eyes.

"So who are you complaining about?" Dunn picked up his glass and took a big sip of coffee.

"Sword of Dawn, the garrison and the security station!" Carl's tone was rare and serious, and he continued, "I'm not joking with you."

"What's the matter?" Looking at the serious Carl, Dunn put away the smile on his face.

Then Carl told Dunn about last night's experience.

"What are you doing in the civilian area?"

"I accepted the task at the notice board and went over there to help with spell research," Karl explained, "Don't ask for details, and I won't answer if you ask. The employer requires confidentiality."

"What time is it?" Dunn pulled a piece of paper and began to record.

"Around 8pm."

"Location?"

"Shell Street."

"Shell Street again, the number of enemies?"

"I don't know exactly," Carl shrugged, and continued, "Maybe a dozen or so."

"Only a dozen?"

"What do you mean there are only a dozen?" Carl said angrily, "Are a dozen or so very few, why don't you try it!"

"How did you escape?" Seeing that Carl was about to rant again, Dunn hurriedly stopped him, "Understood, keep it secret."

After recording, Dunn put away the parchment, and then said: "This matter has been included in the case database, and we will conduct follow-up investigations. If there is any new news, please let us know in time. Thank you Dara The contribution made by law and order.”

"That's it, is this the end?"

"It's over!"

"It's over, there is no way, who made us too busy," Dunn spread his hands, showing a helpless expression

"Won't you combine this investigation with the last incident at the Grizzly Bear Tavern?"

"This is indeed a way of thinking," Dunn thought.

"Now I know why you are so busy," Carl said angrily, "You are stupid."

"You seem very angry?" Dunn refills himself another cup of coffee and asks curiously.

"Nonsense, after a long day of work, I was almost killed on the way home, can you feel better?"

"Understand!"

"What happened to the attack on the Grizzly Bear Tavern last time?" Karl is very concerned about these elemental creatures of unknown origin. Neither the Dalaran library nor the relevant clues.

"Well," Dunn thought for a while, "Mage consultant, I guess you have authority."

Pointing to the parchment on the table, Dunn said, "These are all related materials. I read them all night yesterday."

Looking at the mountain of parchment, Carl shuddered, "You'd better just say it."

"First of all, what are these creatures? The answer given by the Kirin Tor is consistent with your point of view, that is, ordinary beasts are elementalized."

"Can you tell me something I don't know?"

"Afterwards, we turned over Shell Street. Guess what happened?"

"I don't know," Carl shrugged.

"Nothing, no clues other than the Grizzly Tavern."

"Then expand the scope."

"It's really what you said. People in other places in the civilian area have seen these black wolves walking in the shadows. We expanded the scope, but we didn't find any clues. The people are exhausted."

"Have you ever thought about a question, since there are black wolves everywhere, it means that there are clues everywhere, so it's fine to just search in one place."

"Shell Street? But we've searched it all, and it's cleaner than my face."

"Then do it again, I have a feeling that this matter is definitely more than that simple," Carl continued: "There is still a direction."

"What is it?"

"You think so many black wolves can't live in peace with people in Dalaran, missing persons!"

"Yes!" Dunn suddenly realized, stood up and opened the door and shouted, "Smith, bring me the latest missing persons case."

Then his center of gravity became unstable and he staggered.

"Mage's Hand." Karl cast a spell to prevent Dunn from falling to the ground.

"No, I'm going to take a rest. If you have anything else, you can talk to Smith."

After putting Dunn on the bed, Carl quietly left the office, closed the door behind his back, and turned around to see Smith walking over with the missing persons case files.

"Dun En fell asleep, give these to him after he wakes up."

"Captain Dunn is really tired," Smith shook his head and sighed.

Karl nodded in agreement, and then asked another purpose of the trip, "You see, I am now the mage consultant in your security station."

"It's our security station."

"Understood," Carl continued, "Our security department doesn't have any benefits. What if there is danger in the operation?"

"There is a set of standard robes, and some standard weapons of the public security station."

"Forget about the robes, what are the weapons?"

"There are many types, and I can't tell for a while, so I will give you the credentials, and you can go directly to the administrator in charge of weapons."

After speaking, Smith took Carl to the lounge, and after giving the credentials to Carl, he pointed out the location of the warehouse.

Karl received a standard dagger, a light one-handed crossbow and 20 crossbow arrows from the warehouse of the security station, and was recommended by the administrator to the training ground to practice the hand crossbow.

As a mage who often casts spells, Karl's spell hit rate has always been very high. I believe that the accuracy of the hand crossbow is not too bad. However, the reality is always so cruel. He even hits 10% of the targets 30 meters away. There are, sighed, it seems that proficiency in using hand crossbows is a long-term goal.

After the practice, Carl left the security station after having lunch at the security station.
