Chapter 161 History cannot be repeated. There is only one Su Dongpo

There is no doubt that the layer of divinity covering Su Shi's body has been gradually peeled off after Yi Ze interrupted him.

He is no longer the Su Zizhan who is high in the clouds.

He is a Su Dongpo who is no different from ordinary people, with nose and eyes.

Invisibly, the distance between the audience and the secular world is shortened.

The feeling of alienation gradually disappeared, leaving behind a feeling of closeness.

People are interested in historical figures, especially famous historical figures.

In a lot of times, I am in awe.

This is normal.

Because behind these characters, the weight of history is enough to overwhelm everyone.

When mentioning Su Shi, one can always think of his amazing achievements in literature.

This kind of achievement that ordinary people can't achieve is enough to alienate Su Shi from ordinary people.

It's so cold in the heights, dancing to find out the shadows, it seems to be in the world.

It is undeniable that Su Shi has a tendency to deify.

What Yi Ze did was to restore Su Shi, who was gradually deified, into a Su Dongpo with flesh and blood and worldly desires.

Those little stories related to Su Shi that are circulated among the people are undoubtedly a way for people to get closer to Su Shi.

For example:
After Su Shi was demoted to Huangzhou, he lived alone for several years. One evening, he went boating on the Yangtze River with his friend Buddhist monk Foyin.

While toasting and drinking, Su Dongpo suddenly pointed at the river bank with his hand, smiled and said nothing.

Foyin followed the trend and saw a yellow dog gnawing on a bone. After a sudden realization, he threw the fan inscribed with Su Dongpo's poems into the water.

The two looked at each other and couldn't help laughing.

It turned out that this is a dumb couplet.

Su Dongpo's first couplet is: The dog gnaws the (monk) bone on the river.

The second couplet of Foyin is: Shuiliu Dongpo corpse (Dongpo poem).

There is no doubt that Foyin is the character who appears most in the stories about Su Shi.

There are many more related to him.

One day at noon, Su Dongpo went to visit Foyin.

Foyin was busy cooking, and just as he brought the cooked fish to the table, he heard the young monk report: Layman Dongpo is visiting.

Foyin was afraid of revealing the secret of eating fish, so he was quick to get wise, and he locked the fish in a chime, and hurried out to meet the guests.

The two went to the meditation room to drink tea together. When Su Dongpo drank tea, he smelled the fragrance of fish and saw the chime turned upside down on the table, so he knew it well.

Because the chime is a percussion instrument used by monks to do Buddhist ceremonies, the mouth is usually facing upwards, but today it is turned backwards, there must be something strange.

Foyin said: "The layman is here today, what advice do you have?"

Su Dongpo wanted to make fun of the monk, and said with a serious look: "I have encountered a problem today, so I came to ask the elder for advice."

Foyin hurriedly put his hands together and said, "Amitabha, how dare you, how dare you."

Su Dongpo smiled and said: "Today, my friend published a couplet. The first couplet is: Xiangyang Men Dichun is always here. I will not be able to make the second couplet next time. I hope the elders will enlighten me."

Foyin didn't know what it was, so he blurted out: "The layman is so talented and rich in learning. Why is he so forgetful today? This is an old couplet. The second couplet is: People who have accumulated good deeds have more than enough to celebrate."

Su Dongpo couldn't help laughing loudly: "Since the elder clearly stated that there are fish (yu) in the chime (Qing), please let me come and feast on it!"

What's interesting is that Foyin was a monk who was not taboo about wine and meat.

Whispering among Wang Anshi, there are also interesting things.

According to legend, once Su Dongpo was walking with Wang Anshi, he happened to see a house whose foundation had been shaken and a wall leaning towards the east.

Wang Anshi used the last sentence to play Dongpo: "The east slope of this wall is inclined!"

Su Dongpo raised his head and laughed loudly, and then chanted the next couplet to ridicule Wang Anshi: "It's the passing of Anshi!"

The two felt quite tit-for-tat, which also coincided with their previous relationship.

As for other stories, there is an extra woman.

Miss Su!
According to historical records, Su Shi did have a younger sister, but it was a pity that she died young.

Therefore, Su Xiaomei in the stories passed down by later generations can only be fabricated.

When Qin Shaoyou married Su Xiaomei, he was hit hard again and again. At the door of the new house, Su Xiaomei made another couplet: behind closed doors and pushing out the window before the moon.

Qin Guan pondered for a long time but couldn't get down to the line. Su Dongpo wanted to help, so he picked up a stone from a distance and threw it into the lake far away.

And Su Xiaomei chooses her husband:
It is said that in order to find a good husband, Su Xiaomei once used literature to select her son-in-law.

As soon as the news came out at that time, countless people submitted marriage proposals.

Among them was Fang Ruoxu, a son of a wealthy family. He had admired his younger sister for a long time, and after hearing the news, he immediately applied for the election.

He submitted some of his favorite poems and essays, but when my younger sister saw them, they were as pale as white water, so she picked up a pen and wrote a couplet on it: I have little talent in my pen, but I have no strategy in my heart.

Su Dongpo was very anxious when he saw the couplet written by the younger sister.

Fangfu's wealthy family cannot afford to offend, so in order to avoid disputes, they quietly added a word after each of the younger sister's couplets, and changed the couplets to: "There is little talent in writing, but infinite strategy in mind."

Fang Ruoxu was ecstatic after reading it, and he was eager to see Su Xiaomei to express his heartfelt feelings.

Su Dongpo knew that his younger sister didn't like him at all, and was afraid that the joke would be too big to end, so he hurriedly excused him and stopped him, saying: "My younger sister is a bit literary, but she is not good-looking, with a long face and a protruding forehead. If you don't believe me, I will read you a poem." Know.

Last year, a drop of lovesickness tears has not flowed down my cheeks so far. Before going out of the room for three or five steps, I went to the painting hall first with my forehead.

Fang Ruoxu didn't know that Su Dongpo was lying to him, he really thought that Su Xiaomei was ugly, so he left disgruntled.

Whether this is true is anyone's guess.

It's just that if my younger sister knew that Su Shi said this about her, I wonder if she would be furious.

But in the story, Su Xiaomei is both talented and affectionate, which is really extraordinary.

Su Dongpo and his brother-in-law Qin Shaoyou went out of the city to play in the countryside, and saw a "Lei Bridge" built with three stones on the small road.

Su Dongpo kicked the stone bridge with his foot, and recited a couplet at the same time: Kick the three stones of Leiqiao.

He looked back at Qin Shaoyou and asked him to make a second line.

Qin Shaoyou thought about it for a long time but didn't answer the second line, and returned home unhappy.

Seeing her husband's displeasure, Su Xiaomei knew that something had happened, and after asking, she found out that it was because of a couplet.

Without saying a word, she wrote the word "出" on a piece of paper and cut it into two paragraphs with scissors.

Qin Shaoyou suddenly realized, and said the second couplet: cut out the word double mountain.

It's just that, it really seems that Qin Shaoyou is dumbfounded.

However, people always prefer the young Su Xiaomei who died young, so any story with a younger sister in it seems a little more playful, and it faintly suppresses Su Shi.

One day, when Su Xun came to the back garden, he saw a stream of clear water flowing between the rocks and the fragrance of flowers in the breeze.

The red sun was setting in the west, shaded by green trees, and a crescent moon was hanging above half the sky.

The old gentleman suddenly became very enthusiastic about poetry, and hurriedly called Su Shi and his younger sister. The three of them sat on the stone, and Su Xun said: "Such a beautiful place requires poetry. Now the old man has picked out the words 'cold' and 'fragrant', We each recite two lines of poems, and we want to use these two characters as the last characters of the upper and lower sentences in turn, what do my children think?"

The brothers and sisters responded together: "Father said well."

Su Xun was very happy to see his son and daughter agreeing together, and first recited two lines of poems:
The water flows coldly towards the stone edge, and the wind comes from the flowers to smell the fragrance.

Su Shi has always been famous for his poems. After listening to his father's poems, he thought they were too ordinary and not good.

Unexpectedly, just as he was pondering, the naughty little girl said: "Brother usually writes poems, and his thinking is so quick. Thinking about teasing my little sister for growing a high forehead, then 'three or five steps before going to court, forehead first to the front of the painting hall ', how quickly I got it, why is my mind blocked today?"

When Su Dongpo heard it, he knew that the little girl was being mischievous again, so he just smiled and recited two lines of poetry:
Fushi came to sit with cold clothes, stepped on the flowers and returned to smell the horseshoe.

This Su Xiaomei's poems, songs, fu, piano, chess, calligraphy and painting are all exquisite. After listening to the poems of her father and brother, comparing the two, she feels that her brother's is slightly better.

I thought to myself: "Eldest brother's poems are good, but they are not elegant."

The little girl pondered for a while, and just happened to hear the cuckoo's crowing in the distance, and she felt emotional when she heard the sound, so she casually wrote two lines of poetry:
The cuckoo's mouthpiece is cold, and the butterfly's dream and soul are fragrant.

As soon as the little sister recited the poem, the father and brother couldn't help but praise it in unison.

Other stories involve Su Shi's talent.

When Su Shi was young, he was talented and intelligent. He read poetry and books extensively, was proficient in classics and history, and was good at composition.

One day, Su Shi wrote a couplet in hand in front of the door: "Know all the characters in the world; read all the books in the world."

"Extremely" and "everywhere" are right, vividly depicting Su Shi's pride at that time.

Unexpectedly, a few days later, an old man with white hair and childlike face came to Su Zhai to "seek advice" from Su Shi. He asked Su Shi to recognize the book he brought.

Su Shi didn't care about it, and when he took a look, he was stunned and didn't understand a single word in the book; the proud Su Shi couldn't help but feel ashamed, so he had to say no to the old man, and the old man walked away with a smile.

Su Shi was so ashamed that he ran to the door and added two characters each on the couplet. His realm was so new that the neighbors were all impressed: "Know all the characters in the world with anger; I am determined to read all the books in the world."

And the well-known one is probably the story of this small sitting in a temple.

When Su Dongpo visited Mogan Mountain, he went to a small temple to sit.

When the presiding monk in the temple saw a stranger coming, he said calmly, "Sit."

Then he called out to the little monk, "Tea."

After the two sat down and chatted, the monk in charge found that the other party was talking a lot, and he expected that this person was extraordinary, so he invited the guest into the room to talk.

After entering the room, the presiding monk said politely; "Please sit down!" He also called the young monk: "Tea!"

After further inquiry, I found out that the visitor was the well-known Su Dongpo. The presiding monk hurriedly bowed to him and led him into the living room, saying repeatedly: "Please sit down!" and said to the young monk: "Present fragrant tea!"

Before Su Dongpo left, the presiding monk asked him to write a couplet.

Su Dongpo had a plan in mind, and with a smile on his face, he immediately wrote:
sit down please sit down
tea, respect tea, respect tea
Not only agreed to the monk's request, but also full of irony.

And some stories fully reveal Su Shi's upright character.

Su Dongpo was demoted to be an official in the south of the Five Ridges. He went to the mountains for a day without incident, and saw a young monk kneeling at the gate of the temple with tears in his eyes.
The little monk cried because he accidentally knocked the lamp to the ground while lighting it and broke it.

The old monk not only beat him, but also made him kneel at the gate of the temple for three days.

Su Dongpo was very angry when he heard this, so he went into the temple to see the abbot.

The abbot of the temple was overjoyed when he heard that Su Xueshi, a talented scholar of the dynasty, was visiting.

As soon as Su Dongpo entered the temple gate, the old monk flattered him in every way and begged Su Dongpo to leave his handwriting.

Su Dongpo hated this abbot very much, but in order to save the little monk at the gate of the temple from suffering, he agreed to the old monk's request, saying: "I can write, but I must ask the little monk kneeling at the gate of the temple to grind ink for me." Exhibition paper."

When the old monk heard this, he immediately smiled and agreed repeatedly: "Amitabha, Lao Na will obey your instructions."

The little monk sharpened the ink and unfolded the paper. Su Dongpo wrote vigorously, and a couplet was written in one go:

After turning back overnight, the eight thousand ordinary people have nothing at all.

Not long after, Foyin Yunyou came to this mountain. He burst into laughter when he saw the couplet, and asked the old monk: "This couplet is originally a word puzzle. Didn't you guess it?"

The old monk hurriedly asked what it meant, and Foyin asked for a pen and paper, wrote two words with a brush, and walked away.

Die bald!

Therefore, in many cases, you don't even know that you are scolded if you have no culture.

Are these stories true, or false?

Most of them are probably fabricated by later generations.

There are many stories related to Su Shi.

Basically, it will involve Foyin and Su Xiaomei.

For example, Su Shi felt that his state of mind was complete, and the eight winds did not move.

And Foyin just said "fart" and Su Shi's mood collapsed.

Another example is that Su Shi ridiculed that Buddha Seal was like a pool of cow dung, but Foyin did not argue, only saying that Su Shi was Buddha in his own eyes.

After going back, Su Xiaomei explained that Buddhism pays attention to knowing the mind and seeing the nature, and seeing things as the mind is, which severely suppressed Su Shi's arrogance.

Interestingly, in these stories, Su Shi is probably the one who is not very smart.

Usually they will be beaten by Su Xiaomei.

Perhaps this is the later generations' love for the Su Xiaomei who never showed up.

But it is these uncomplicated little stories that gradually restore Su Shi's face hidden in the mist.

He is not a genius literati who sits high on the altar and looks down on all living beings.

He is a flesh and blood Su Dongpo who has the same desires as ordinary people.

Because of this, Su Shi is so popular.

If Li Bai is a fairy, he was unrestrained and unrestrained all his life, and even died, he died by catching the moon;

If it is said that Du Fu is a sage, who cares about the country and the people, even if he is poor, he still protects the world's poor and happy;

So Su Shi is undoubtedly an ordinary person. He walks in the world, climbs up from setbacks, walks step by step, and lives toward the light.

This is Su Shi, and this is the well-known Mr. Dongpo.

It is true that many people have gradually been unable to recite the entire text he wrote, but they can always recite a sentence or two in their spare time.

When will the bright moon come, ask the blue sky for the wine... I hope you will live a long time, and share the joys and joys of thousands of miles away.

Don't listen to the sound of the forest beating leaves, why not scream and walk slowly, bamboo sticks and straw shoes lightly beat horses...

The great river goes east, the waves wash away, and the romantic figures of the ages...

There are many more poems like this.

His talent, his ambition, and his attitude towards life have become a shining pearl in Chinese culture.

History cannot be repeated, and there is only one Su Dongpo.
