Hogwarts 1991

Chapter 25 The Mad Hat

Chapter 25 The Mad Hat
The ghost greeted the little wizards and disappeared through the wall one by one.

"Now, line up in single file." Professor McGonagall said to the first-year students, "The sorting ceremony is about to begin."

The young wizards lined up through the foyer and into the great hall where the evening party was held.

The hall on the first floor of Hogwarts is tall and magnificent, magical and wonderful.

There are about 1000 students here, all of whom are seated around four long college tables filled with gold plates and goblets.

On the top table, Principal Dumbledore and other professors sat on it.

Pearly white, translucent ghosts roared from the walls, underground, and under the long table to the four senior students of the college. They watched the new students with great interest, and their figures shone with silver light.

All the tableware here is gilded, shining brightly under the flickering lights.

The walls on all sides are entirely made of that kind of complete, huge block of marble. Rows of stone statues are carved in the middle of the stone walls on both sides, a total of twelve, guarding both sides above each window.Like a bird but not a bird, like a dragon but not a dragon, each of them has a long black chain in its mouth, and between the three chains is a crucible-like utensil, which contains a burning magical flame that will never go out.

Thousands of candles floated above the table. Looking up, there were stars twinkling above the dark ceiling, which was the bright galaxy outside the castle.

In the hall of Hogwarts, the magical flames are swallowing, the candles are fluttering and dancing, the stars and the galaxy are flowing, all of these——

All this is dreamlike and unreal.

McGuffin was a little unable to walk, admiring the beautiful scenery, causing the freshman team to split in two from here.

"What are you doing! Let's go,..."

The young wizards came out from behind complaining, pushing and yelling, while the senior wizards on the long table next to them pointed and laughed.

Professor McGonagall frowned and slipped him from the front to the last position.

Then she went to the front, placed a four-cornered stool under the professor's long table, and put the dirty pointed wizard hat in her hand on it.

Doesn't anyone at Hogwarts wash this hat?McGuffin stared at the hat with disgust.

The sparrow in the dining room was silent, the edge of the hat was cracked like a mouth, twisting and singing a song.

You may think I'm not pretty,
But don't judge a book by its cover,
……

In my hand (even if I only have one hand)

you are absolutely safe,
Because I am a thinking magic hat.

After the magic hat sang, the audience applauded thunderously. It bowed and saluted to the surroundings, enjoying all the attention in front of it.

"So just put on that hat." Ron was whispering about his family's bad taste in front of Harry, and he hadn't told himself for so many years.

Harry smiled faintly, feeling very nervous about what was about to happen. He felt that he could not meet the requirements of this hat, and he did not have any of the advantages it described.

He turned his head to look at the people behind to relieve the tension in his heart.

There were not many people behind Harry, and a few were very nervous, only McGuffin, who was standing at the end alone, looked at the professor on the podium above with a strange look, and looked up at the ever-changing magical starry sky on the ceiling from time to time in a daze.

For some reason, seeing such a weird, heartless person with him made him feel a lot easier and less nervous.

At this time, Professor McGonagall took a parchment and began to name the branch.

"Hannah Abbott!"

The little witch with a ruddy complexion and long golden braids was the first to step forward and put on the sorting hat.

"Hufflepuff!" screamed.

……

Soon the Sorting Hat sorted Neville and Hermione into Gryffindor, and Malfoy did as expected—as soon as the hat touched his head, he was sorted into Slytherin.

Finally it's my turn--

"Harry Potter!"

The crowd began to chatter and chatter.

After exchanging ideas with the Sorting Hat for a while, Harry was finally sorted as he wished.

— Gryffindor!
Immediately there was a burst of loud cheers from the Gryffindor table.

Soon it was Ron's turn, and he was also sorted into Gryffindor.

Percy came up to several people and congratulated them loudly.

……

"Brace Zabini!"

"Slytherin!"

At this time, only McGuffin Albert was still staring at Harry blankly, and he kept strengthening a thought in his mind-he couldn't be assigned to Gryffindor with this 'iron boy'.

Professor McGonagall rolled up the parchment and looked at the last remaining boy.

Professor McGonagall had a bad premonition again, and she hesitated before shouting:
"McGuffin Albert!"

There were whispers in the hall, although there was a lot of discussion, but this was a completely different atmosphere from Harry's appearance.

Some outlandish rumors began to ferment.

Especially among the first-year Lesterling students, Malfoy was so excited that he didn't know that he was spreading vulgar rumors about MacGuffins to cover up his scandal on the train.

Ron also talked about the conflict with Malfoy tirelessly, and quickly exaggerated the length of his "struggle against".

"It was me, I was the one who dealt with that bad, bad thing just now!" Even Percy whispered in an exaggerated and showing-off tone, "If it wasn't for me, everything would have been bad, very bad."

At first glance, he thought he solved Voldemort on the train?

Harry had the feeling that the McGuffin was scrutinizing himself up there, with an odd look.

This made him a little flustered, and he turned his head to ask Ron on the side about this MacGuffin, and saw that he and his two brothers gave hands and feet to other Gryffindor students and used the scene that they were cooperating to perform Malfoy on the train.

Occasionally elicits a momentary laugh.

……

McGuffin picked up the Sorting Hat and prepared to put it on his head.

They must not be assigned with the savior Tie Hanhan, and they must not go to Gryffindor.

After taking a few deep breaths, he kept strengthening this idea in his head.

I hope that in this way, I can be assigned to other colleges according to my mind.

In the end, McGuffin sealed all his memories of his previous life and his system in the deepest part of his brain.

To be on the safe side, he modified the nightmare he had on the train to - the possible dismemberment of the devil's hat falling into Emily's hands and put it into the surface memory.

Just as McGonagall was preparing all of this, of course, in the eyes of other students, it was just that McGuffin took a few deep breaths nervously, and then put it on.

only--

Before putting it on, when the magic hat was close to the edge of McGuffin's head.

The patched Sorting Hat was writhing wildly in McGuffin's hands, and the slit or mouth on the edge of the hat opened and closed, yelling loudly.

"Idiot, lunatic, stop! Get me out of that mind that smells like horrible thoughts."

"Let go, boy, can you accompany me if you break me?"

"Stop, don't put the uncle on that lunatic's head, you want to kill me?"

……

The hat yelled hysterically and spoke nonsense, which stunned everyone present.

All the professors and students of Hogwarts have never seen such a scene.

It struggled frantically in the hands of the McGuffin like a rabbit facing slaughter.

Finally—poof,
It broke free from the McGuffin's hand and jumped to the ground, bent the brim of the hat, as if propping up the other two legs, swung, and quickly fled this place in small steps.

Professor McGonagall froze in place, and it took a while to react.

Trembling with anger, she raised her wand and roared.

"All petrochemical!"

Paji! --Snapped!

The devil hat kept the running posture, motionless and stiff on the spot, finally swayed a few times, and fell to the ground——it was frozen hard by the curse.

With his mouth wide open and his eyes wide open, he watched Professor McGonagall put a stiff magic hat on the original chair—it was like a sculpture of a stone hat.

She tried to squeeze a gentle smile on her face, "Now put the—hat (accent)—on your head!"

McGuffin's face was stiff, and he swallowed saliva from his throat.

He obediently obeyed Professor McGonagall, picked up his hat, and put it on.

The professor lifted the spell.

"Revitalization!"

The Devil Hat began to struggle again, but this time it did not break free from McGuffin's grasp under Professor McGonagall's cold gaze.

It tried not to let its body get close to the MacGuffin's hair, and struggled upward with all its strength, making an astonishing piercing scream.

"Gryffindor, Gryffindor! Gryffindor!"

Without the slightest hesitation, McGuffin was assigned to Gryffindor in a 'three-in-a-row'.

The hysterical voice of the magic hat echoed in the silent hall.

Some parts of the author will come from the movie, some will come from the original novel, and some will not match the original and make private settings, please forgive me!
But most of them will follow the original setting.
