Hogwarts 1991

Chapter 3 Gringotts and the Looting System

Chapter 3 Gringotts and the Looting System
On the light yellow envelope was written in emerald green ink:

240 Union Street Avenue, Manchester, [-]nd Floor, [-]nd Floor, Mr. MacGuffin Albert.

……

Mr. Longman handed the envelope to McGuffin, and he opened it and folded it in half. A piece of parchment paper was about the width of his palm, with a few lines of words written densely on it——

Exchange Muggle money for Galleons at Gringotts.

(Gringotts is at the intersection of Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley, do not go to Knockturn Alley, it is too dangerous for Muggles and little wizards).

Another note: According to the regulations of the Ministry of Magic, each Muggle family can exchange a Galleon per school year, usually based on the Hogwarts bibliography and school supply list for that year (Hogwarts does not charge tuition fees).

The exchange rate between Muggle currency and Gold Galleons stipulated by the Ministry of Magic will change every year. (This year, each Muggle family should be able to exchange 115 Gold Galleons.) Basically, the exchange rate is roughly 1 Gold Galleon = £5.

Finally at the end of the note is written a line in Latin - it will guide you.

"Broomsticks, Gringotts?"

"What the hell does that last sentence mean? McGuffin, is that Latin?"

Mr. Longman handed the note to McGuffin full of doubts.

'It will guide you. ’ muttered the MacGuffin.

"What exactly does this mean, what guidance?" Langman was confused, and before he could finish speaking, the note broke free from his hand, flew into the air, and circled forward.

"This?"

"Follow it!"

McGuffin hurriedly signaled his father to follow the note in a hurry.

The two followed the note through the street crowd.

McGuffin saw the muffled whining sound coming from the Illa owl shop described in the book.

I saw the Quidditch shop with a large transparent window, which displayed the latest brooms, surrounded by a few boys outside it, and they were tightly attached to the glass, discussing lively.

"The latest broom, the Nimbus series."

"Great, great speed."

"You haven't ridden before, don't brag..."

……

All kinds of things that have been seen in various movies or have not appeared, and shops abound on this street. Only when you really come here can you experience the wonderful and weirdness brought by the magic.

While following the note, McGuffin passed a small, dilapidated shop with a lonely wand in the window.

He took a few steps slower, and then stepped up to keep up with Langman.

"A wand shop?"

McGuffin's thoughts floated, thinking of the sand sculpture system that was suddenly activated a few days ago.

In the process of walking quickly, a transparent and yellowed illusory parchment scroll appeared in front of his eyes.

After observing the expressions of passers-by from left to right, no one focused their attention on him.

Sure enough, it wasn't magic.

The illusory parchment is actually in Chinese, and there is only one paragraph written on it:

[The first step to becoming the greatest wizard: Get the wand and successfully cast the first magic. 】

When McGuffin received the Hogwarts acceptance letter from the owl, the sand-sculpted golden finger that accompanied him through time travel—the sheepskin scroll (there was no way to unfold it after two years of time travel) finally moved and began to unfold slowly.

It just showed such a line of words, and there was no movement (still unable to expand).

At that time, McGuffin was so depressed that he almost didn't explode in an instant!

After transmigrating into MacGuffin Albert two years ago, I found out that I have such a strange parchment, so there is no fuss.

Time travel + golden finger is standard!

But in the following two years, he tried his best and failed to open the parchment roll, and found that the No-Maj golden finger was useless.

He didn't have any hope for this broken system, but he didn't expect that when he received the notification from Hogwarts, the golden finger was also activated, and the parchment scroll was slowly opened, and such a task appeared.

"I don't believe it anymore, I have to see what kind of gold finger this guy is?"

When McGuffin lowered his head and gritted his teeth, the note slowly fell from the sky not far away to the ground, and a flash of fire flashed, and it spontaneously ignited and turned into ashes.

"Is it here?" Longman stopped walking.

They came to the middle of the street of Diagon Alley, as if it was written on a note that it was connected to another street, and it was a fork of a street.

In front of the two of them was a tall snow-white building, the whole body was made of white marble, a shiny bronze gate stood above the stairs, and in front of it stood a goblin guard in a uniform of scarlet gold inlaid.

He carefully examined everyone who walked up the steps and entered the door, and bowed and saluted from time to time.

When the McGuffins walked towards the man along the road, the goblin took a step back in disgust, pouted as if remembering something, and said, "Cut, Muggle?"

Before the two could answer, he raised his long, skinny hand and pointed it inside.

"Go straight inside and see a silver door, enter the second door to the marble hall inside, the goblin on the far left, there is the Muggle money exchange counter."

As he spoke, he waved his hands, as if driving away something annoying.

McGuffin was a little angry, and his joyful mood was poured cold water. The two followed the goblin's instructions in silence and came to the second door. The following words were engraved on the two silver doors.

Come in, stranger, but take care,
……

Beware that what you bring is not treasure, but evil.

When McGuffin stopped to look at the writing on the door, Longman spoke first: "It seems that we are not very welcome here, it seems like we have come..."

He didn't go on.

McGuffin naturally understood what he meant.

He actually knows more, even from a fairy tale novel like the original book, some clues can be seen, there is a different kind of "magic version of political correctness" in this magical world.

Although the existence of magic cannot be exposed or harmed in the Muggle world according to the law, but this is more to protect the magic world and hide it, and it does not really face up to ordinary people as individuals who communicate on an equal footing.

Wizards with magic can act recklessly in front of ordinary individuals, which has caused almost all wizards in the entire wizarding world to consciously or unconsciously discriminate against Muggles, and even linked this to Muggle-born wizards.

The mainstream opinion in the Ministry of Magic or the wizarding world is that Muggle wizards should not be discriminated against, because if there is no Muggle wizards to replenish fresh blood, the wizarding world will gradually die out, but just like the politics in the European and American world in Muggle reality, this "different kind of political correctness" is actually covering everything that is unfair, injustice and full of discrimination.

The more you talk about freedom and equality, the more you don't let discrimination, in fact, the more everything you talk about will happen in reality.

The hostility of pure-blood wizards to Muggle-borns is nothing new.Especially those wizards who followed Voldemort and Grindelwald wantonly killed Muggles, as well as their enemies (usually Muggle wizards).

This is still beautified in the movie novels. If it is reality, or the current world, McGuffin believes that it is more indifferent or cruel.

Although Langman didn't know, he could see the world's attitude towards Muggle wizards from the few people he met just now. He felt that McGuffin would have a hard time in this school in the future.

However, this is magic! How can you give up!

McGuffin doesn't believe that he can't deal with a few brats, let alone this system can be used?

After a moment of silence, when McGuffin was about to say something, a tall, thin, bald man approached quickly from behind with a smile on his face. He was wearing a green robe and looked at the father and son with curious eyes.

"Oh, you're Muggles, aren't you?"

"It should be...it should be counted."

Looking at the enthusiastic smile on his face, Langman could only agree in a daze.

"Do you not know what to do? I see that you have been standing here for a long time." The person who came came and spoke to the two of them very familiarly.

"Let me help you..."

"Are you?" McGuffin and his father looked at each other, finding that they didn't know each other, and asked the visitor with some embarrassment.

There is no impression of this person in his memory.

"Ah - I haven't introduced myself yet, Arthur Weasley, the head of the Ministry of Magic's Illegal Use of Muggle Office, you can call me Arthur." He said and stretched out a hand to Langman.

"Longman, Longman Albert, a football coach."

The two shook hands.

So it was him?No wonder I have no impression?

McGuffin thought.

Does Arthur Weasley have hair in the movie, or does he have fiery red signature hair.

Arthur, why are you bald!
Those are all the tears of middle-aged men!

McGuffin vomited something in his heart, followed behind the two, and walked towards the hall of Gringotts.
