Chapter 180 Mess (3 more)

Chapter 180 Mess (Part [-])

This past week has been nothing short of disaster for the Avengers.

Out of control, Hulk and Thor wrestled and jumped off the Avengers Building, and the two men's ensuing wrestling nearly demolished the entire street at the bottom of the building.Until the end the Avengers failed to stop the berserk Hulk

This incident itself was already a disaster, and the ensuing criticism of public opinion made the matter even more difficult to salvage. It's been a hell of a week for the Avengers' PR department, but there's only so much they can do.Not to mention the pressure from the army, the government, and even the president himself after the incident, and the one who had to stand up and bear all this as a representative was naturally the leader of the alliance, Tony Stark.

"I've warned you guys that you can't be trusted with fancy dress!" Edmund Kamen, an old man boasted to be some kind of "professional," remarked in a TV interview that "in most people's I'm trying to remind everyone to stay sane while they're all crazy about Stark's group of so-called 'superheroes', and even losing their minds. Now I'm not at all happy to see myself have the opportunity to say this, but I still have to remind everyone - 'I told you so'."

Although the old guy kept saying that he never took pleasure in the Avenger's accident this week, his joy was almost written on his face. What's worse is that this guy is not an exception. As time goes by, this matter not only has no intention of calming down, but has been deliberately heated up by some interested people.Until this week, the Avengers were the rising stars of the limelight, hailed as the "guardians of humanity," but now the invective seems to have suddenly taken over.

Every time he saw an idiot like Edmund spitting all over the place on TV, Tony couldn't help being so angry that he wanted to blow up a few people with his armor. But when he thought about it carefully, he seemed powerless to refute, because things seemed to be a bit like what these opponents said.

What else can I do?Hulk is a member of the Avengers, and they publicly admitted that from the moment Hulk was accepted, he became the responsibility of the Avengers. Now that the Hulk is out of control for unknown reasons and fighting on the streets of Manhattan, there is no way for Tony to come forward and say that this incident has nothing to do with them.

If the Avengers can't even manage their own people, then who can trust them to take on the role of guardians to protect the safety of the earth?
On Tuesday, Tony Stark received a call from the president himself at Avengers Tower.

Steve Rogers sat on the sidelines and listened without saying a word.He didn't know the specific content of the call, but he could guess from Tony's furrowed brow that it would definitely not be a good thing.

He only heard Tony say this: "Yes, Mr. President is indeed the real situation. We are still investigating this part, but we promise to solve something? But okay, I understand, sir, I know, thank you."

Distraught, he hung up the phone, muttering something vaguely, as if cursing and complaining.

"What did Mr. President say?" Rogers asked.

"What else can I say? Say that we've made a fool of yourself, that this trouble is too big, that we've attracted too much attention." Tony said impatiently, "There are a large number of people in the White House who want the Avengers finished. Those Guys wouldn't be happy to have a private armed force like ours out of control on U.S. soil, and we just gave them a chance."

"Are they going to deal with the Avengers?"

"Not yet." Tony waved his hand. "Someone wanted to do this, but the proposal was rejected. Besides, we just saved the world not long ago, and they haven't been able to go too far yet. But it's a big deal anyway. Foreshadowing, this matter will definitely be brought up repeatedly by some people in the future, and sooner or later it will cause trouble."

"Oh." Rogers nodded. He thought for a while, and tried to suggest, "Then maybe, we should try to remedy it. Hulk is our responsibility, we have to find him before he causes more damage"

"That was a stroke of genius. Do you think I didn't think of it?" Tony said impatiently. "I brought it up, but Mr. President said no, the matter has been handed over to the 'professionals'. He didn't elaborate. Point out, but I can figure out who his so-called "professional" is with my toes. It's nothing more than that idiot General Ross. Ghosts pass by."

He seemed to notice that he was a little emotional, so he simply shut up.

"Okay." Rogers said, "Since Mr. President said so, maybe I will leave it to that General Ross to deal with it. Maybe you should take this opportunity to rest, Tony. The Avengers thing makes you a little too stressed big"

"You know what? You're stressing me out by asking around here. There's politics involved in this super big mess, and trouble with politics is never going to be like running into an enemy with your shields up and your soldiers. It's so simple in the military camp." Tony said impatiently, "So can't you just leave me alone for a while?"

As soon as the words came out of his mouth, he regretted a little. He knew the Cap was just thinking about his emotional state, worried that he'd been taking on a little too much as leader of the Avengers lately. But sometimes he just talks faster than he thinks.

His best friend (and quite possibly only friend) Colonel James Lord once said that Colonel Lord himself and Tony's secretary Pepper Potts, these two people may be the last two people in the world who can bear Tony Stark was the eccentric curmudgeon.Tony knew that even by his own standards, what he'd just said to the captain might have been a bit of a jerk, and for a moment he thought the captain was going to punch his nose out.

But unexpectedly, Rogers didn't say anything, just stood up silently and walked out.

"If you need someone to talk to," he paused before going out, stood at the door and turned his head and said, "you know where to find me."

After he finished speaking, he exited the room, and the automatic door closed with a "swoosh".

"Wow," Tony said, looking at the closed door, "for a moment I thought he was going to punch me."

"I think so too, sir," said Jarvis gravely.

"Shut up, Jarvis," Tony said unhappily. "Activate the project for me, codenamed 'Veronica.' We still have a lot of work to do."
