The price of large-scale preparation is high, and the general performance is not very good.
Taking two-dimensional carbon-carbon composite materials as an example, theoretically this material has excellent properties such as good high temperature resistance, ablation resistance and high temperature strength. Moreover, its density is very low, and its designability and machinability are far superior to the superalloys commonly used today.
However, the current performance of this material is not satisfactory, mainly due to the problem of the surface treatment process. When the temperature is above 3000 degrees, the carbon film on the surface will be oxidized and passivated, thereby reducing the performance of high temperature resistance.
In later generations, coatings are generally used to isolate the material from direct contact with oxygen, so as to achieve the purpose of anti-oxidation.
In the 1990s, the research on various high-performance anti-oxidation coatings was not very developed.
Especially in the 22nd century where Zhang Xingyang lives, the exploration of such basic materials has been completely handed over to the powerful central processing unit around the stars, and thus completely transformed into the output of time and energy.
