Lin En frowned slightly, but still patiently said, "We have checked the contents of your statement, and there are many loopholes. You don't even know some of the transaction details, because those weren't handled by you at all. These were all arranged by Coleman, he's just letting you take the blame."

John looked down at the table, without responding.

Lin En sighed, his tone softening a bit: "John, I understand your situation. Your mother is your only relative, and you are willing to do anything for her, which is understandable. But have you ever thought about what will happen to her once you are convicted? Coleman is only using money to temporarily solve her medical problems, he won't really care about her future."

John's fingers trembled slightly, but quickly returned to calm: "I know all this. But at least now, she is getting the treatment she needs. I have made my choice."

Lin En looked at him, a trace of helplessness flashing in his eyes: "Do you think your choice is right? Coleman continues to get away with it, he will continue to use others, and continue to expand his criminal network. And you, sacrificing yourself, but letting the real evildoer escape punishment."

John raised his head, his gaze firm: "Detective Lin En, I am not you. I don't have your ability to change the world. I am just an ordinary person, I can only protect the people I care about. I can't control anything else."

Lin En was silent for a while, he looked at the exhaustion and despair on John's face, and knew that he couldn't change his mind no matter what he said. John was ready to sacrifice, and there was only one goal in his world, and that was his mother's survival.

"Okay, John." Lin En stood up, his tone with a hint of complicated emotion, "I won't force you to make a decision, but I hope you can remember that your mother needs not only temporary medical help, she needs a truly free son. And Coleman, the person who ruined your life, is not worth you taking any consequences for him."

John lowered his head, without responding.

Lin En took one last look at him and turned to leave the interrogation room. When he walked out of the door, he had a tired look on his face. Mark was waiting outside, and after seeing Lin En come out, he asked, "How was it, did he loosen up?"

Lin En shook his head, his voice low: "No. He has made up his mind."

Mark sighed: "Then what do we do next?"

Lin En said with a deep gaze: "Continue to investigate. From the people around John, Coleman's network, find more evidence. John may be temporarily bound by Coleman's money and emotions, but as long as we tear open this disguised net, he will see the truth sooner or later."

Mark nodded: "Understood, Detective. We won't give up."

Lin En looked into the distance, a flash of determination in his eyes.

Late at night, Lin En sat in the office, the computer screen in front of him lit up, with detailed information about Coleman's latest real estate project on it. He hadn't closed his eyes for several hours, but the fatigue didn't diminish his focus in the slightest.

This project is a high-end residential development project that Coleman recently took over, located in a valuable area in the city center. Lin En discovered from public transaction records that the source of funds for purchasing this land was unknown. It seemed to be wholly owned by a newly established investment company, but the background of this company was suspicious.

"Mark," Lin En pressed the communicator, his tone revealing a hint of excitement, "Come here immediately, I've discovered something important."

A few minutes later, Mark pushed the door open, still holding a cup of coffee in his hand. He looked at Lin En's expression and knew that the Detective had found another important clue: "What's the situation?"

Lin En pointed the content on the screen for him to see: "This real estate project is Coleman's first large transaction after his release. Did you notice this investment company?"

Mark leaned over to check: "'Berlin Capital Management Company', just established three months ago, registered in some tax haven. So, this company is Coleman's money laundering tool?"

"Most likely." Lin En nodded, "More importantly, this company's account recently had a huge amount of funds flowing in to pay for this land. I checked the source of these funds and found that the funds were dispersed into multiple small accounts, and then concentrated into Berlin Capital's account through complex transactions."

Mark frowned: "Sounds like a classic money laundering technique."

"That's right." Lin En's eyes were sharp, "And I also found something. Among these small accounts, one account is registered to Coleman's distant relative, which shows that he is operating behind the scenes."

Mark pondered for a moment and asked: "Then what do we do next? This clue is enough to prove that he participated in illegal fund flows, but we still need more specific evidence to trace the true source of these funds."

Lin En looked at the document, a trace of a sneer flashing in his eyes: "Charity foundation? Coleman really knows how to play. This kind of guise is the most confusing, but it is also the easiest to be exposed."

He closed the document and said firmly: "Immediately contact the person in charge of this foundation to investigate the whereabouts of these funds. Coleman is obviously trying to cover up his illegal income in this way, but we have already begun to tear open his disguise."

At the same time, Lin En decided to personally lead a team to the registered location of Berlin Capital, trying to find more clues. He knew that the secret hidden behind this real estate transaction was likely to be the key to completely defeating Coleman.

"Mark, get everything ready," Lin En stood up, put on his coat, "This time, we must make sure that Coleman has nowhere to escape."

Lin En quickly led the team to the registered address of Berlin Capital. It was an inconspicuous office building, located on a busy street in the city center. It looked like an ordinary commercial building on the outside, and there wasn't even any sign at the entrance. Lin En was alert, this kind of place is usually the favorite cover trick of shell companies.

"Inspector, this place doesn't look like a real office," Mark said softly, standing to one side. "It's probably just a registered address."

Lynn nodded and signaled the team to start searching. They entered the building, found Berlin Capital's registered floor, but discovered that the entire floor had only a small office with a simple plaque on the door that read, "Berlin Capital Management Company."

The door was gently pushed open, revealing an empty office with only a few simple tables and chairs and a dusty filing cabinet. Lynn's eyes quickly scanned the entire room. He directed the technicians to check the computers and filing cabinets, while he personally examined the few documents on the desk.

"This is indeed a shell company," Mark said softly, walking up to Lynn. "There's no sign of any substantial operation."

"Don't rush." Lynn continued to search, quickly finding a stack of documents in a hidden compartment of the filing cabinet. He flipped through them quickly, his expression gradually becoming serious.

"These are their financial records," Lynn said softly. "Although they look ordinary on the surface, several large transfers completely match the flow of funds we're tracking."

"Inspector!" The technician's voice came from the other side of the room. "There's a computer here, but it looks like it's been wiped. It might take us some time to recover the data."

Lynn walked over, looked at the old computer, and frowned slightly. "Do your best to recover the data. This computer probably stores the connection between Coleman and this company."

Several hours later, the technicians successfully recovered some of the hard drive data and discovered some hidden emails and documents.

"Inspector, we've found some key documents." The technician handed Lynn a printout of the email records. "These emails show that Berlin Capital's fund flows were directly instructed, and the anonymous account used by the sender, after technical tracking, points to Coleman's private communication device."

Lynn looked at the documents, a sneer appearing on his face: "This is getting interesting. He used an anonymous account to try to conceal his relationship with this company, but he didn't expect us to dig it out."

Mark looked at the email records and asked, "Is this enough to convict him?"

"Not enough." Lynn put away the documents, his tone calm. "We need more evidence, especially the detailed transaction records of those private accounts. If we can prove that these funds came from illegal channels and ultimately flowed into Coleman's real estate projects, then he's completely finished."

Lynn immediately contacted the financial analysis team, requesting them to further track these accounts, while personally reviewing the foundation's fund flows. Several hours later, the team reported a new discovery.

"Inspector," an analyst said excitedly, "we found that Coleman used the foundation's private account to distribute funds to multiple sub-accounts, one of which directly paid for the initial investment of the real estate project. These records are very clear and sufficient to prove that his source of funds is illegal."

Lynn looked at the records, his eyes flashing with determination: "Very good, this is the ironclad evidence we need. Immediately organize all the information and submit it to the prosecutor. Coleman's game is over."

A few days later, Lynn walked into the detention center again with his team, this time holding evidence that was enough to leave Coleman with nowhere to escape. When Coleman saw Lynn again, the sneer on his face could no longer conceal his nervousness.

"Coleman, this time, your empire is really going to collapse." Lynn said coldly, throwing the documents in his hand on the table. "This evidence not only proves that you are laundering money, but also involves multiple illegal transactions. What do you have to say now?"

Coleman looked at the documents, his face gradually turning gloomy, but he still feigned composure: "Inspector Lynn, I admit you're very capable, but there are no eternal winners in this world. Do you think these things can bring me down?"

Lynn looked directly at him, his tone firm: "No, it's not what I think, but the fact you have to face. Justice may be late, but it will never be absent. And you, Coleman, are out of chances."

The next morning, as Lynn walked into the office, he saw his superior, Charles Harrison, standing by the window, his expression seemingly calm but revealing a hint of imperceptible unease. Lynn put the documents in his hand on the table and looked at Harrison with a cold gaze: "Chief, you're here so early, I'm afraid it's not just to cheer me on, is it?"

Harrison turned around, revealing a forced smile, his tone deliberately relaxed: "Lynn, I'm here to talk to you about Coleman's case."

Lynn smiled coldly, sat down in his chair, leaned forward slightly, and placed his hands crossed on the table: "Talk about what? Tell me to give up?"

Harrison sighed, his tone with a hint of persuasion: "Lynn, you're an excellent inspector, but you have to understand that some things can't be decided by simple right and wrong. The network Coleman is involved in is too large, and the chain of interests involved is too broad. Once it's completely uncovered, it may trigger many uncontrollable consequences."

Lynn's gaze suddenly turned cold. He stood up, propped his hands on the desk, and looked directly at Harrison: "Uncontrollable consequences? Chief, that doesn't sound like you're worried about justice, but rather like you're afraid of touching the interests of certain people."

Harrison was made somewhat uncomfortable by Lynn's gaze, and his tone rose slightly: "Lynn, this is not a problem you can solve single-handedly. I'm protecting you, and I'm also protecting this department. Coleman's background is complicated, and his team of lawyers is already putting pressure on us. We can't let things escalate any further."

Lynn didn't move, just looked at him coldly, his eyes as sharp as blades. After a moment, his voice was low and firm: "Chief, I never care about the complexity of a case, nor do I care how many people are putting pressure on me. I only care about one thing—justice. This is my duty and my bottom line. If anyone tries to make me give up, I will consider him to be the same kind of person as Coleman."

Harrison's face became unsightly, and he tried to salvage the situation: "Lynn, I'm not threatening you, just giving you some advice—"

"Advise me to violate my duty?" Lynn interrupted him, his tone with an icy anger. "Chief, I respect you, but if you're here to be Coleman's lobbyist, then I suggest you leave immediately. I will not compromise, and I will not stop."

Harrison was unnerved by Lynn's gaze. His Adam's apple moved up and down, and he finally sighed and raised his hands: "Okay, Lynn, I admit, I was indeed a little too talkative. However, I still remind you to be careful."
