American comics: Starting with Luke the Maker
#126 - The discussion is over, Mage Apprentice
Gu Yi was very interested in Luke's proposal, as was Mordo, who stood behind her.
Perhaps some mages would consider the Vishanti as a faith, not to be blasphemed or allow others to blaspheme, but there are not many mages with such fanatical beliefs. Most normal mages simply regard the Vishanti as the source of their magic and the root of their power, respecting them, but not necessarily with fanatical faith.
Building a magical energy source for Earth's mages?
Looking at Mordo's bright eyes behind Gu Yi, one could tell that he was also slightly dissatisfied with the fact that the source of power was in the hands of other dimensional demons, even if that source was the Vishanti, the origin of the Ancient One.
Next, under Stephen's bewildered expression, Luke and Gu Yi had a friendly and intense conversation, engaging in a detailed discussion of cooperation on their respective powers and interests. Mordo occasionally interjected, arguing with Luke a couple of times. After negotiating the cooperation needs of both parties and allocating the benefits generated by the magical energy, about an hour had passed.
Of course, even though the three of them had discussed for more than an hour, they had only roughly negotiated a framework, and more detailed regulations would need to be discussed again in the future. This was not something that could be accomplished in one fell swoop.
Fortunately, the emotional energy also required time to accumulate.
After learning about Luke's requirements for collecting and manufacturing the emotional energy, Gu Yi, in order to promote the plan, intended to try to speed up the process according to Luke's proposal.
If the energy source of the emotional energy could really be successfully built, then undoubtedly, the one who would enjoy the greatest benefits would inevitably be her. Even if she didn't care about this, it couldn't erase the fact. Moreover, the new energy characteristics would inevitably give birth to new energy applications, promoting the emergence of new magic.
Finally, the three of them contentedly paused their previous back-and-forth negotiations, and while drinking tea, began to chat and exchange ideas.
Gu Yi and Mordo were also very interested in some of Luke's other proposals and opinions, especially after he took out soul crystals and holy light, these strange light-based energies, they became even more interested.
"Converting opposing attributes of power."
Gu Yi played with the conversion ring that Luke handed her. The conversion power of the ring was not high, so Gu Yi certainly didn't think much of it, but other mages, especially mage apprentices, might need these very much. Moreover, Luke also said that if needed, he could manufacture conversion devices with higher power.
Even Gu Yi needed to digest and convert energy, although she had her own unique method, there were still losses in the middle. For example, when taking advantage of Dormammu, his dark power was opposed to the power of the Vishanti. After her conversion and filtration, at least more than half of it was lost, and the power applied to spells was not as strong as the original power that had not been filtered and converted.
The power of Dormammu and other dimensional demons could prolong Gu Yi's life. As the source of white magic, the power of the Vishanti should also have the effect of prolonging human life, but from the past, this effect should not have been open to the mages of the Ancient One lineage. After the death of the Ancient One, all knowledge from the soul to what was mastered would belong to the Vishanti. And Gu Yi, compared to her predecessors, had obviously exploited a BUG and taken a shortcut.
As for the power of holy light, after Gu Yi felt this power, she had a feeling of great interest. She could feel the purity and power of this power, especially when targeting dark-characteristic powers, but it was different from white magic. But undoubtedly, if she could master this power, like white magic, she would be more confident when fighting against dimensional demons with dark characteristics like Dormammu.
……
"Here is your accommodation."
Mordo pushed open a room and said to the two people behind him. The room had two bedrooms on the left and right, with a living room in the middle. There were lights, internet, and common household appliances. This made Stephen marvel. He thought that mages really lived in ancient times like in stories, relying on magic to solve everything.
"You can rest for one night first. Tomorrow, I will take you to choose a magic item and select magic books."
Mordo stood in the living room of the house with his hands behind his back. After Luke walked out of his bedroom, he handed over a thick-skinned book from his hand: "This is the magic book catalog. It is very suitable for people like you who have just come into contact with magic. They can let you better understand the power of magic.
What needs to be reminded is that although the Ancient One has given you quite high permissions, some dangerous forbidden books are still not open to you for the time being. They themselves possess powerful power, and the words on them have a magic so powerful that it is unbelievable, which can easily erode a person's spirit, making them fall and become a believer of the book's master.
Even some formal mages mostly have no right to read such forbidden books."
"Okay, okay. We know."
Doctor Stephen, who had finished putting down his luggage, also walked out of his bedroom. Watching Mordo leave with his hands behind his back, Stephen immediately trotted over to close the door, and then quickly walked to Luke's side.
"Listen, all of this does not comply with the contract we signed before!"
Stephen lowered his voice, looking at Luke very seriously.
"So?" Luke raised his eyes and asked.
"So, more money!"
Stephen gritted his teeth: "Do you know how busy I am? Do you know how much effort I took to free up these two days? And then? We have to stay here for I don't know how many days, how much less money will I earn? Maybe I will be complained about!"
"You can leave with me in a couple of days. Although the Ancient One has taken you as a disciple, she has not restricted your personal freedom, has she?"
Luke said with a smile.
"You want to leave me here alone?"
Stephen straightened up, vaguely glossing over Luke's words, while expressing his opinion. That is, he wanted to stay.
"Look, Gu Yi took you to experience a multi-dimensional world, let you see the magic and mystery of magic, and also took you as a disciple, telling you clearly that you can also become her, become someone who masters this magical power. Under such circumstances, anyone will be moved, and will also develop a certain tendency."
Luke shrugged.
"I still want to be my doctor,"
Stephen gritted his teeth.
"But at the same time, you don't want to give up becoming a mage, do you?"
Luke pointed out the tangle in Stephen's heart at the moment.
"What's your opinion?"
Stephen looked at the mysterious companion of his magical journey. He now felt more and more that the other party was not just a key figure in Hebron.
"My opinion? My opinion is to let nature take its course. In my plan, mages will be exposed and integrated into the human world sooner or later. Only when the two are closely combined and have a close relationship of interest will the human group be more resilient in the face of external disasters. You are an important part of this. Study magic well, don't worry about someone complaining about you, I will help you solve it."
Luke patted Stephen on the shoulder and said.
PS: Just asking, if the author is in good condition and saves a thousand words a day, is it better to release them as a bonus on Sunday, or is it better to release as much as you write every day? An author of 8,000 to 10,000 is really impossible now. I can only try to manage 5,000 to 6,000 first.
