American comics: Starting with Luke the Maker

#136 - Mordo's loss of control

Sanctum Sanctorum.

The resident mages here had recently undergone some renovations and remodeling. Of course, this was done with the permission of the Sorcerer Supreme and without affecting or damaging the Sanctum's defenses.

Heberon brought an [Energy Vein] for the mages here.

In Luke's words to the Sorcerer Supreme, the energy collected on this planet would temporarily converge into one trunk and seven branches. Apart from the trunk, the Sorcerer Supreme could take four main branches.

This book is first published on the entire network by 𝕥𝕨𝕜𝕒𝕟.𝕔𝕠𝕞

The only trunk was located inside the dark fortress newly built by Luke.

But in Luke's words, the biggest role of the trunk was to distribute and amplify, which did not affect the function of the main branches, such as collecting emotional energy.

Although in terms of real currency, most mages could not be said to be rich, and could even be described as poor. But in another way of calculating net worth, they could be considered rich compared to ordinary people.

Most of those who became formal mages had fought against some dimensional creatures and monsters, and even kept some spoils of war. Some mages who liked to collect [spoils of war] discovered these days that their net worth had inexplicably increased in a way they couldn't understand.

And all he paid was some of his collection of [spoils of war].

As for the emergence of the new currency, the mages generally did not express surprise or discomfort. They accepted the whole thing harmoniously and skillfully. After all, they were not completely isolated, old otaku antiques who had no contact with the outside human society. They understood the concept of money.

The construction and operation of this new currency system, of course, also required the efforts of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Heberon. After all, you can't just create a new currency casually and then run it.

The new currency system was built by S.H.I.E.L.D. with the help of many financial elites who had entered prison. It was linked to the output of new energy and the dimensional material resources of the mages.

"Is this the energy the Sorcerer Supreme was talking about?" Mordo asked with great interest.

He was standing in front of a metal well in the room. The metal well was hexagonal and bottomless, but under the light of the chandelier, one could occasionally see streaks of colorful reflections from the depths of the well.

It was like the surface of water reflecting the moon and stars in the deep night.

All the mages could easily feel the energy flowing around them. The feeling of being able to use them easily, like breathing, without having to borrow them, was really intoxicating to all the mages.

This meant that new mage apprentices might no longer need to painstakingly and riskily draw power from other dimensions and demon gods.

Under the guidance of the mages, mage apprentices could more easily feel the energy wandering around them, and this energy could be said to belong to Heberon, or it could be said to belong to the mages.

"Yes, how does it feel?" Luke looked at the colorful energy liquid in the depths of the well, and couldn't help but be surprised by the resources in the hands of these mages.

"Very docile, and also, different?" Mordo didn't know how to describe the energy he felt. He instinctively felt that they wouldn't be so simple, and also felt that they had some kind of characteristic of converting and replicating other energy characteristics.

"Docile? They are not docile at all." Luke smiled when he heard Mordo's words and retorted. "The reason you think they are docile is because they have been filtered and transformed before you perceive and absorb them. In the Sanctum Sanctorum, in front of you, they are relatively peaceful and pure. But not to others."

"What is their original appearance?" Mordo nodded. After all, as the creator, Luke must know more about his creation than himself in the early stage. He had no intention of arguing with Luke in this regard and making a fool of himself. He was just uncontrollably curious about this energy. He felt that if he could control this energy, it would bring him some kind of earth-shattering change.

"Original appearance? Do you want to feel it?" Luke looked at Mordo with a strange smile on his face. "A reminder in advance, if you want to face its true face directly, you must first have strong control and tenacious willpower.

Don't be deceived by its docile appearance. In terms of danger and uncontrollability, it may not be as good as those top dimensional demon gods, but it may be even more difficult to deal with."

Mordo felt some kind of teasing emotion from Luke. It seemed that under the lingering of this energy, his perception of people's emotional changes had also become much more sensitive. He looked at Luke with his hands behind his back.

"Okay. I suggest you take some protection. If you are ready, you only need to take off the bracelet I gave you on your hand."

Mordo did not reject Luke's suggestion. After three mages came up, Mordo took off a bracelet on his right hand, and his spiritual consciousness deeply penetrated into the metal, contacting the crystal clear primordial liquid that seemed to exist and not exist.

Boom!

Mordo's eyes suddenly turned blood red, and his spiritual consciousness seemed to enter a blood-colored space, and an inexplicable anger filled his chest.

Then there was deep fear, like being buried in the depths of the sea, surrounded by some kind of terrifying existence, desperate and suffocating fear.

Immediately following was the surging tyranny that would engulf his spirit, and the jealousy that was deeply rooted in his soul.

Arrogance, ambition, desire.

Various emotions almost washed away Mordo's spiritual sea, making it almost blurred. Under this spiritual infection, the only thing Mordo could do was to desperately support the last bit of clarity in his spiritual consciousness.

Outside.

The three mages guarding the Sanctum Sanctorum saw Mordo's eyes suddenly turn blood red, and strands of colored energy lines extending from the well turned into threads, like spiders spitting silk, layering on top of each other.

"Damn it, the energy intensity in his body is increasing abnormally! His power is going to be out of control!" A mage saw the red light flowing between Mordo's hands, and felt the violent and powerful energy that seemed about to explode in the next moment. He shouted in horror, stretched out his hands, and began to build a defensive array using magic.

However, faster than the three mages was Luke.

A red belt almost shot out from Luke's body like lightning, darted into the gap in the not-yet-completely constructed array, and then bound Mordo tightly like a snake.

Mordo was like a red cocoon-shaped caterpillar being bound, and the surging energy in his body occasionally stretched the belt away from him, revealing some gaps, but it was quickly tightened by the belt and became seamless again.

"Put the bracelet on him." Luke threw the bracelet that Mordo had taken off to the mage next to him, gesturing. The mage who took the bracelet stepped forward nimbly, and fastened the bracelet on Mordo's wrist, which was deliberately revealed by the belt.

Soon, Mordo's struggling strength, which was out of control, visibly weakened.
