American comics: Starting with Luke the Maker

#171 - Planning, data dimension

Metropolis.

Stark Tower.

Tony Stark, in his pajamas, sat on the sofa, looking at Nick Fury and the others who had arrived uninvited. Finally, he couldn't help but say, "What do you mean by this? You've been sitting here in silence for ten minutes. My time is precious!"

"Don't worry, not everyone's here yet," Nick replied, sitting on the sofa with his eyes closed and arms crossed. Beside him, Natasha, Clint, Phil, Maria Hill, and several other trusted agents were sitting upright and silent.

On the other side of the sofa, Luke was quietly and amicably chatting with Dr. Bruce Banner. Captain Steve and Frank were sitting at Stark's private bar, enjoying the services of Jarvis's robotic arm.

"Who else are we waiting for?" Stark asked irritably. Anyone who was preparing for a romantic evening with their girlfriend, only to have a group of men in black barge in, would be as agitated as he was.

Thunder rumbled outside the window.

"He's here," Nick opened his eyes.

Crash!

A figure in red, wielding a hammer, burst through the window.

"Could you use the front door!" Stark groaned, looking at the broken windows.

"Remember to send me the bill later, I'll reimburse Thor," Nick said to Tony as he stood up to greet Thor.

"Alright, alright, can we talk about what's going on now?" Tony waved his hand, he wouldn't actually send a bill for something like this, unless he wanted to annoy people.

"Before we get down to business, I think you should look at some information first," Nick took out a portable hard drive and handed it to Tony.

Tony took it and connected it to the data transfer interface, instructing Jarvis to project some video files and text documents.

Virtual screens appeared in the air around everyone, surrounding them. Any shift in gaze revealed multiple videos and files. Many contained shocking records of inhumane experiments, as well as recordings and experimental footage. The most recent were the J Virus and Mechanical Virus experiments conducted in collaboration between the extremist faction and AIM.

It took everyone an hour to barely get through all the information. Even Stark, who hadn't initially paid much attention, now wore a grave expression.

"This is just the tip of the iceberg. A major outbreak of mechanical virus-induced chaos is imminent, and we must control the situation. But some measures that may be taken are hard to put into words," Nick said softly as he turned off the virtual projections.

"What exactly do you want?" Tony glanced around and noticed that everyone except him seemed calm about Nick's words and the images that had been shown, as if they knew everything beforehand and he was the only one being kept in the dark. This feeling made him very uncomfortable. He felt excluded from this small group.

"Luke and I have had some insightful conversations, and I believe his ideas are very feasible. To cope with the dramatic changes ahead and improve efficiency in handling incidents like the Chitauri invasion and its aftermath, we plan to do something big, something that requires the support of everyone here," Nick continued to lay the groundwork.

"Please get to the point," Tony interrupted Nick's potential speech with his straightforward nature.

"We plan to have the Captain become the helmsman of this country," Nick said without hesitation, giving an answer that widened the eyes of many present.

"This is a bit too much of a leap, I can't imagine..." Bruce, who had been wearing an angry expression due to the inhumane experiments, was also shocked by Nick's words.

"There's nothing to imagine, the Captain's reputation and character are widely recognized," Nick looked at Dr. Banner. "Only with him in power can we make sweeping changes, instead of just fighting over power and profit."

"It's going to be difficult, I mean, getting into power and after that," Banner stammered.

"No, it's very possible," Tony's eyes lit up, and he excitedly stood up and looked at Luke: "Everything hasn't been set in stone yet, we can still get involved! Although time is a bit tight, it's all good! The Captain's exposure has been high lately. If needed, I can even be his tool, stand on stage for him!

We don't need to worry about funding, I can take care of it all. If that doesn't work, there's little Luke, the cute and black-hearted capitalist. As for hype and ideas, our media presence might be weaker than the competitors, but on the internet, Stark and Heberon together are invincible!

Little Luke also has deep connections with the military, and Ina's father is a senior party member. Wow, the success rate is high! This is so interesting."

"It's not about being interesting, Tony, it's a necessary choice to deal with future changes! We'll soon be in contact and communication with extraterrestrial civilizations, and not all of those civilizations will be as friendly as Asgard," Nick said frankly. If those people hadn't been so disappointing and obstructive lately, Nick would have been happy to maintain the status quo. But after Luke explained what might happen in the future and what Heberon was going to do, he knew he had to reposition himself. And unfortunately, while it seemed like he had a choice, his only choice was to sit on the same bench as Luke.

After all, establishing connections with the Nine Realms and the potential of the new currency were already on track and irreversible. As a partner and beneficiary of these developments, SHIELD couldn't bring itself to cut ties and leave.

Moreover, the Captain was indeed a good choice that everyone could accept.

"I don't think I can do it," Captain Rogers weakly raised his hand. Although Nick had spoken to him beforehand, he still lacked confidence.

"No one needs you to do anything, Captain! You just need to be a flag," Tony said excitedly. He was already annoyed by those targeting Stark, and if they could successfully put the Captain in power, then...

"But we need manpower, don't we?" Rogers scratched his head in distress.

"No, we don't need manpower," Luke interjected, "Heberon's intelligent system has a wealth of management data. If needed, I can write you a smart management system suitable for the whole country, which will greatly reduce your manpower needs. Believe me, intelligent management systems are more efficient than people in handling many trivial and complicated matters."

"Count me in! I can also contribute some data and technology. You don't need to worry about manpower, Captain. Even if everyone slacks off, Luke and I can hold up the stage for you. Technology changes the world, and it's not just a saying," Tony eagerly took over.

"If you really can't do it, Captain, then you just need to be a symbol! Just like before. Give people confidence and courage," Nick said.

"Perhaps your emotional ring will take another step forward because of this?" Luke also gave an assist.

"Cough cough." Thor coughed twice, attracting everyone's attention. He recited as if reading from a script, "On behalf of Odin, the King of Asgard, I hereby announce that Asgard and the lineage of the Supreme Mage, and Heberon under the leadership of Luke, will forever be allies who never betray each other."

"Looks like we're going to be busy. Dr. Banner, would you like to join me and Luke in contributing to that new intelligent system? Ah, you would. That's great. I think we should create a new organization, which will be used to establish treaties and laws to deal with future invaders and threats," Tony waved his arms excitedly, "What do you think of the name 'Illuminati'?"

"I suggest changing it," Luke vetoed Tony's nomination.

After some debate and planning, the group resumed their usual conversation.

"I'll keep an eye on the payments for the Stabilizer orders for the Inhumans," Nick said to Luke in a low voice as he sat next to him.

"It's okay, the data I brought out from AIM is public, anyone can use and manufacture it," Luke didn't care. He had already obtained the Cosmic Cube and got the biggest benefit, he was generous enough not to care about the rest of the scraps this time.

"However, the cost and effect of the stabilizers manufactured by other technology companies, including Osborn, are not as good as Heberon's," Nick curled his lips. But then he quickly revealed his true thoughts, he looked at Luke seriously: "Tell me, has the Cosmic Cube really disappeared?"

"It's gone, how many times do I have to say it?" Luke spread his hands helplessly: "It has become a resource for a new subsidiary dimension."

"That data dimension?" Nick frowned.

"You can think of it as a virtual dimension," Luke replied lightly.

"What are you talking about?" Stark interjected, plopping down in the seat next to Luke, and putting his hand on his shoulder. Dr. Banner also listened with interest.

"A new dimensional space, created using a certain item," Nick gave a vague explanation.

"What's it for?" Tony blinked, this was what he wanted to know.

"A dimension between reality and illusion, it's not perfect yet. But the general effect is similar to a super intelligent system. As long as you provide enough data and energy, it has the ability to replicate anything you want.

You can also directly use it as a mechanized universal virtual machine, using various materials for experiments an infinite number of times to find the most suitable materials for you. Or verify the success rate of your experiments," Luke explained simply.

"Doesn't that mean it can greatly reduce the cost of experiments and increase the success rate?" Tony and Banner were shocked.

"That's just the ideal state. It still needs to be cultivated and enriched. But if nothing goes wrong, meeting the current technical standards is not a problem," Luke said truthfully.

"How do you, um, use this dimension?" Tony couldn't help but ask.

"First, you need a knock-on brick. You have to pass its test first, and then it will give you access. Depending on the access level, you can use its functions and computing power and other resources differently. If you want to increase your access, you have to show some real skills, such as uploading some of your exclusive technology to the internal dimension server," Luke took out two bracelets, gave them to Tony and Banner, taught them how to connect, and said.

"Interesting, to get access, you have to go through an exam first? This is a round of screening first. Are fools not qualified to enter? I have to say, I quite like this setting," Tony quickly understood Luke's meaning and asked with satisfaction: "Who is the highest authority now?"

"Of course it's me," Luke pointed to himself. "If you need one of my technologies and don't want to buy it from me in reality or don't want anyone to know, you can also spend the virtual knowledge currency inside to buy it. Of course, the only way to get knowledge currency now is through new technical knowledge."

"Wait, I'll catch up with you soon," Tony's fighting spirit rose.

"That's not what you told me," Nick muttered from the side.

"What do you mean?" Tony's eyes darted back and forth between Nick and Luke's faces.

"Those Inhumans can also sense that dimensional world, and some of them can even enter!" Nick stared at Luke, wanting an answer.

"I did say that. But that doesn't conflict with what I explained to Tony and Dr. Banner. Inhumans themselves are products of the Cosmic Cube's power. They naturally have a close connection with this dimensional world. They are equivalent to the dimension world's agents in reality, guardians, believers. Understand it however you want. And normal people like Tony and Dr. Banner, without being Inhuman, can only do it the way I said. In fact, I feel that this dimensional world prefers smart people like Tony and Dr. Banner more," Luke explained calmly.

The functions and power of the dimensional world, Luke said, not only did not discount it, but even said it lower. But just like GG words always give you a good side of the promotion, the defects are not mentioned or briefly passed. When Tony and the others enter and want to use these functions, they will immediately find that these functions are only the most basic and cannot meet their needs at all. If they want to improve permissions and functions, they need to do their best for the growth of the dimensional world and provide various data or knowledge. In this way, it is converted into knowledge currency according to a standard recognized by a certain dimension world to improve computing power, etc.

It is impossible to be whitelisted for free. The energy to maintain the operation of the dimensional world is currently borne by Luke alone. Of course, there is no problem for him to use it himself, but if the scale is expanded and everyone is opened up for unlimited use, he really can't afford it for the time being. It would be better to set a standard and permission level for division from the beginning. And the so-called access device is just a variant of the technology concept source instrument.
