#246 - Galaxy: Heart of Power [Part 2]
"Did you hear that?" Star-Lord suddenly asked Yondu as they ran.
"Of course I heard it! There are explosions everywhere, and the roar of machinery! I never want to come to Knowhere again," Yondu said, panting slightly as he led his people dodging and weaving through the steel jungle.
"No, I'm not talking about that!" Star-Lord shook his head, looking at another battlefield just ahead, where Gamora might be.
"Then what are you talking about? All I can hear are those sounds, and your voice!" Yondu, running alongside Star-Lord, glanced at him.
"It's whistling! Your whistling!" Star-Lord suddenly realized, using his element gun to blow the head off a machine that had popped up in the complex steel jungle, as he replied to Yondu.
"I'm not whistling!" Yondu said, suddenly stopping and staring blankly ahead. They had reached the edge of the battlefield, and their view was instantly much wider. He saw those confronting each other on the field, including Ronan, and those extremely familiar weapons cleaning up the Chitauri and Kree soldiers.
"Isn't that your Yaka Arrow!" Star-Lord and the Ravagers stumbling behind him also saw the shocking scene. The surroundings seemed to be woven into a giant red web, full of prey lying on the ground. Star-Lord looked at this scene in shock, and subconsciously said to Yondu.
"My Yaka Arrow is on me." Yondu touched his pocket, feeling the hard metal of the Yaka Arrow, before shaking his head.
The Yaka Arrow, also known as the sonic arrow used by Yondu, is a specialty of his home planet in the Centauri system. It is made of Yaka, a rare and special sound-sensitive metal from the planet. Over a long period, his people developed the technology to use Yaka metal to make weapons and tools. With the technological adjustments of Yondu's people, this metal has a natural high compatibility with them.
Yondu's people have accumulated a large amount of data and experience in the research and control of sound-sensitive metals, and Yondu has been exposed to some of it as well. He knows how to resonate with the sound-sensitive Yaka metal in a special way, and control it to turn and attack according to his wishes. Of course, to achieve this as easily as using one's limbs requires the assistance of another tool. That is the matching fin!
The fin is actually just a crystal-like material that fits the curve of the scalp. It can amplify the resonance and assist with a certain amount of brainwave control. This greatly reduces the difficulty of controlling the sonic arrow.
"What's that?" Star-Lord's attention suddenly turned to the sky. Countless mechanical parts, like a mechanical storm in the shape of an inverted tornado, were stacked and assembled into a huge instrument in the void with a mechanical roar.
As the instrument was energized and activated, the air in the surrounding area inexplicably felt a little heavier. A dazzling purple halo was attracted from within the building, broke through the wall, and stuck firmly in the center of the instrument like metal caught by a magnet.
The purple halo flared!
…
"It's it!" Seeing the purple, feeling its overflowing energy fluctuations, General Corvus Glaive subconsciously recognized that it was their target this time—the Cosmic Orb!
Also known as the Cosmic Stone, or the Infinity Stone!
Ronan also saw this scene. The cosmic secrets accumulated by the Kree civilization also made him understand what that thing overflowing with a purple halo was! His heart thumped strongly in his chest at this moment. Of course, he knew the legend of the Infinity Stones, and he knew that each of these stones possessed incredible power! As long as he could control and use its power, he could destroy the mother planet of the Xandarian civilization with his own hands without Thanos' help!
"Hand over the Cosmic Orb!" General Corvus Glaive shouted. Without waiting for Lylla to respond, he bent his lower limbs slightly, exerted force with his muscles, and jumped towards the direction of the Cosmic Orb, that is, the mechanical platform where it was being attracted and captured.
However, General Corvus Glaive in mid-air was blasted to the side by a shock wave from nowhere, causing his plan and action to grab the Cosmic Orb first to fail.
"Ronan!" General Corvus Glaive roared angrily, yelling at Ronan for suddenly attacking him.
Ronan ignored the roaring General Corvus Glaive. He had already decided to fight for the Cosmic Orb.
Hand it over to Thanos?
Then why not grab it himself, and then personally bring destruction to Xandar? So what if it angered Thanos? With the power of the Infinity Stone and the backing of the Kree Empire, he was not afraid of Thanos.
Lylla watched Ronan and the others fighting among themselves with cold eyes. He just increased the power of the Void Factory and raised the manufacturing permissions even higher.
"The time is just right. You are fortunate enough to witness the power of the Lord descending." Lylla's face was full of pious and fanatical expressions. He raised his hands high, using himself as a transfer station and signal point, frantically pouring the technical blueprints and collected materials from the data dimension into the purple gem in the sky.
Squeak squeak!
The surrounding metal and special minerals from Knowhere were processed according to the requirements of the blueprints from near and far in the void, and then transmitted to Lylla's side. Countless mechanical constructs flew around, surrounding the mechanical platform like a vast school of fish in the sea, guarding the purple gem on the platform and Lylla below the platform. More mechanical constructs were summoned and rushed towards this side.
The thickness of the mechanical storm alone was nearly a hundred meters, and it was still constantly thickening.
Mechanical constructs poured in from all directions, and the sky seemed to be obscured.
Star-Lord and the others not far away looked at one mechanical construct after another flying over their heads, and then looked at the battlefield that looked like an expanding mechanical storm, and couldn't help but swallow.
Ronan's advancing figure was blocked by the mechanical storm. He destroyed one or two mechanical constructs, and immediately four or five mechanical constructs would fill the gap. Moreover, these mechanical constructs were still piecing together and combining according to needs, and carrying out targeted mechanical evolution in technology to block Ronan and General Corvus Glaive.
For example, the circle of mechanical constructs on the periphery now has almost maxed out its physical strike defense. Although the progress was slow in the previous moment, Ronan could still clear a space with one hammer. But soon he could only clear a dozen or so with one hammer, until now, he needed to spend a lot of effort to solve one or two, and his forward pace was almost completely stagnant. Under the expansion of the mechanical storm, he was even pushed back a distance.
The same was true for General Corvus Glaive on the other side. Although his weapon possessed incredible power, his forward speed was also curbed under targeted technical upgrades and material updates. What made it even more unacceptable for him was the change in the surrounding spatial rules, which were completely blocked and stagnant, and did not allow any form of teleportation to occur.
This made it so that if he wanted to approach the Cosmic Stone, he could only rely on his strength and ability to force his way in. There was no better way.
Ronan and General Corvus Glaive, who were squeezed out, looked at each other from a distance. They instinctively felt a certain pressure in their hearts, as well as an ominous feeling. It seemed that a powerful life was descending on this place.
Inside the mechanical storm, similar to the eye of a storm, the purple halo was being pieced together by countless mechanical constructs, wrapping the purple halo bit by bit into complex mechanical parts.
In just a moment, a huge metal sphere with a diameter of about three meters, like a replica and enlarged version of the Cosmic Orb, appeared on the mechanical platform. As Lylla started the operation of the machinery, a majestic energy vibrated from the inside of the mechanical sphere. The parts of the mechanical sphere rustled and made metallic tremors, and the dense parts began to rotate. The purple halo began to spread across the sphere's fine lines and interfaces.

[Mechanical body constructing]
The mechanical constructs of the surrounding mechanical storm shot towards Lylla and the Apostle's Heart like swallows returning to their nests. In mid-air, the parts automatically fitted together, and the general framework of a human form gradually formed.
After the construction of the skeletal framework was completed, it was the filling of flesh and blood and the covering of skin. Densely packed mechanical constructs squeezed into the mechanical giant's body along the framework, fitting into the interfaces left on the bones.
The whole process gradually constructed the giant's muscles, energy blood vessels, circuit boards, chips, nerve fibers, etc. Lylla's body rose to the platform above the engine, and was wrapped and protected by the constructs.
In the blink of an eye, the mechanical giant, which was still a framework before, was now filled with "flesh and blood." Even though the mechanical storm had thinned out a lot, the outside could faintly see some of the scenes inside the eye of the storm through the gaps in the mechanical storm.
In the next moment, some of the outermost mechanical constructs covered the giant's body as skin, completing the final step.
The increasingly thin mechanical storm separated most of the mechanical constructs and constructed a pair of huge metal wings behind the giant. As the purple halo spread to the mechanical giant's whole body, two mechanical eyes overflowing with purple intent, as if they had spirituality, looked down at Ronan, General Corvus Glaive, and others in the distance from a high position.
Various mechanical constructs that were still pouring in from the surroundings, like welcoming and guarding a supreme king, surrounded the mechanical giant like a mechanical galaxy ring.
