American comics: Starting with Luke the Maker
#312 - Conqueror: Working Man
"Damn it, do you know who I am? Do you know the consequences of doing this? You're finished!"
Loki cursed as he was pushed through the light gate. He arrived in a magnificent golden hall, where the fully armed warriors who had been escorting him released him.
"Of course, I know who you are, Loki, a potential criminal!" A burly warrior said.
"What did you do to me?" Loki, attempting to escape, was repeatedly forced back to his original position by some unknown force. He turned his head to look at the female warrior who had captured him, and asked in astonishment, "What did you do to me?"
"See this device? It's a collar with a time loop function. Don't even think about escaping. No matter how far you run, I can control it to make you rewind to before you ran." The warrior who was asked pushed him, and said rudely.
"Take him to change clothes and accept the judge's trial." The female warrior gestured with her eyes to the warriors behind Loki.
"Wait, at least tell me, who are you? And what exactly is this place?" Loki, grabbed by the shoulders on both sides and lifted up to be carried forward, struggled to turn his head and shout at the female warrior who was standing still, clearly a leader figure.
"I'm happy to answer your question. This is the Time Variance Authority, responsible for dealing with all individuals and troubles that endanger the Sacred Timeline." The female warrior said, watching Loki being thrown into a door that suddenly appeared.
Stripped of his clothes and forced into a yellow prison uniform, Loki fell weightlessly from the ceiling into a room. Inside, a cute cat was looking at him in terror.
"Here's your ticket, please take it." A familiar voice made Loki, who was looking at the clothes on his body, suddenly look up, towards the source of the voice.
"Luke?" Loki tilted his head, looking blankly at the man sitting behind the desk, with messy hair, greasy clothes, and a face that he remembered deeply. He looked at Luke in surprise and questioned, "What are you doing?"
Meow!
The cat jumped onto the thick pile of documents on the desk, its tail swaying, walking between the two of them with cat-like steps, and then was grabbed by the body by a hand and hugged into his arms.
"You've mistaken me for someone else." Luke stroked the cat a few times fiercely, and then, in the cat's scream, threw it aside directly, denying Loki's question.
"Impossible! I can recognize you even if you're ten years old." Loki affirmed his recognition, "What exactly do you want to do?"
"Okay, I admit you didn't recognize the wrong person. But so what? I'm just a wage earner. A small undercover agent who has been lurking for a long time, just to connect with you, the hero. By the way, do you want to take a mission? The reward is a ticket home." Wage earner · Undercover agent · Luke raised his eyes and looked at Loki.
"Are you kidding me?" Loki took a deep breath.
"Of course not, look at these beautiful stones, what do you think?" Luke grabbed a handful of shiny stones from his claws and spread his palm under Loki's eyes.
"Infinity Stones, I know you have a lot of these things in your hand." Loki frowned slightly when he saw the glittering stones lying in Luke's palm.
"These aren't mine, and they have nothing to do with me." Luke shook his head, throwing the stones onto the table like trash: "There are these things everywhere here, some people even use them to hold down paper."
"What does this have to do with me? I just want to go home." Loki stepped forward, leaned over the edge of the desk, and looked at Luke sitting in the chair.
"You can't go back. You are one of their most troublesome hunting targets. Especially you, this variant." Luke spread his hands.
"Isn't there you?" Loki knocked on the thick pile of documents, with a smile on his face.
"Sorry, I really want to help you, but I can't. I have no strength to even truss a chicken, I'm just a pure weakling." Luke looked at Loki and replied: "You can only save yourself here."
"You're at least a demon god, right?" Loki's face was full of disbelief.
"Specialties have their own fields, I already said, I'm just a wage earner. What I can help you with is just to provide you with some internal information, and a little insignificant help."
Faced with Loki's questioning, Luke appeared quite calm.
"Okay, I give up. What do you want me to do?" Loki looked at Luke seriously for a long time, took a step back, and said helplessly.
"Just a small mission. If you do it, you can go to the main body's laboratory to pick a precious collection, of course, custom orders are supported." Luke leaned forward, his elbows resting on the desk, looking at Loki.
"Do I have the right to refuse?" Loki chuckled dryly.
"This is the information you need. Read it here." Luke randomly drew a few sheets of paper from the desk and handed them to Loki, then looked at a watch on his wrist and reminded: "You only have half an hour, I can't control more time, otherwise someone will notice something wrong. This is a gap between space and time, which can avoid some annoying attention.
You are very good at disguise and acting, aren't you? What I need is your specialty."
"Also, this is for you." Luke stuffed a bullet into Loki's palm.
"A bullet? What can it be used for?" Loki looked at the silver bullet in his palm with disgust.
"Use it when you meet the person behind the scenes and feel a dilemma. Trust me, you will need it." Luke put the bullet back into his palm, helping to close his hand into a fist.
"You can be more specific." Loki requested.
"That's all I can say. In addition, your memory will forget me and some things after you go out, only at the last moment can you restore all your memories." Luke sat back in his seat: "Now, look. This information will appear in your memory in another way, and give you guidance."
"Mages are the only one who play mystery." Loki muttered, but still obediently flipped through the intelligence information in his hand.
Half an hour later, Loki's spirit suddenly felt a burst of trance, and his body felt a sudden weightlessness, falling from the ceiling into a room.
"Here's your ticket, please take it." A man with glasses, messy hair, and greasy skin threw a piece of paper on Loki's face. The fingers protruding from the thick documents pointed to Loki's back, and then said: "The door is over there, remember to close the door when you go out. Thank you!"
