American comics: Starting with Luke the Maker
#66 - Twists and turns, data invasion
Stark Expo.
It was a grand event for technology companies from all over the world. After Tony Stark finished his speech and vacated the stage, it was time for the various companies participating in the event to go up and showcase their work.
"I heard you were attacked after you left that day?" Tony came to the front row, to the seats belonging to himself and Pepper Potts, and asked Luke and Yina, who were sitting next to each other.
"It's been resolved." Luke carefully examined Tony's face: "It seems you've returned to normal."
"Thank you for your help, Luke." Pepper stepped forward and hugged Luke, standing up to express her gratitude. The current Tony was much more normal, he wouldn't give things away for no reason, nor would he do inexplicable things. She naturally knew who was responsible for all this, so her gratitude to Luke was also from the bottom of her heart.
"No need to thank him, Pepper, okay, okay, you can thank him." Tony had just opened his mouth when he was met with a reproachful look from Pepper. He raised his hands and surrendered with a few soft words. He was indeed quite grateful to Luke in his heart, but his personality made it impossible for him to really thank Luke, but he would express his gratitude in his own way.
"Have you ever been in contact with a man named Nick Fury?" Tony asked Luke quietly.
"Of course." Luke nodded.
"Well, did you know, I just found out that my father had close ties with him and the organization he was in. My father used to have a technical manuscript that was still in their hands, and they just returned it to me recently." Tony wasn't grateful for this, because in his opinion, it was originally his father's thing, and he naturally had the right to inherit it.
"So?"
"It's a new energy design! Using some kind of unknown new element!" Tony shrugged: "Actually, my father's design was already very mature, but the times limited him, and he couldn't manufacture it at the time. But that's no problem for me, I've successfully manufactured it." As Tony spoke, he tapped his chest with his finger.
"I've uploaded the design to the technical sharing database, you can take a look when you have time," Tony said casually. He didn't feel at all that what he had just given away was a complete new energy design that was currently priceless. As proud as he was, he wouldn't admit that his technology was inferior to others. In his opinion, this method could both repay Luke for the favor of giving him exclusive technology, and also show that he, Tony Stark, had not fallen behind in new energy technology.
Luke was very pleased with this.
Regardless of whether he could use this technology himself, it was still an accumulation of cutting-edge technology. He needed smart people like Tony who were grateful and selflessly shared technology!
This was a good start!
The two were chatting enthusiastically offstage, while Yina and Pepper were also talking quietly. It's just that the two men were exchanging technology, while the women were talking business.
"Your competitor has appeared." Suddenly, seeing a man in a suit and gold-rimmed glasses stepping onto the stage with a drumbeat and skillful dance steps, Tony put his arm around Luke's shoulder and said with a smile. As the organizer, if he wanted to, he certainly knew what technology Justin was going to present.
"Him? Forget it." Luke admitted that Justin did have some technology, after all, [Ex-Wife] was indeed a relatively successful product at the moment, although it couldn't compare with their two companies' main products, it wasn't without advantages in many scenarios. Besides that, Hammer Industries didn't have many products that were worth looking at.
"I admit, he used to be very good at imitating Stark's weapons. At least I've heard Obadiah complain about it. But after Stark closed the arms department, you're the one who's being troubled by imitation now. I think he should become a dancer, maybe he'd have more success. Look at his little steps, they're pleasing to the eye!" Tony mercilessly launched his venomous tongue evaluation.
Justin on the stage naturally didn't know that Stark was being venomous about him offstage, he was introducing his new product with high spirits, all-arms steel soldiers for land, sea, and air!
As well as Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes, who was specially transferred from the Air Force to serve as the face and representative. The only thing that was a little out of place was that James Rhodes was piloting Heberon's Iron Titan series. That burly steel body, which was half a head taller than Justin's steel soldiers, was even more oppressive.
"Fancy."
This was the only comment Tony gave on the product that Justin brought out.
"He's a good businessman, someone who understands profit maximization."
This was the accurate positioning that Tony gave to Justin's character on stage.
"Do you think the products on stage will carry weapons?" Luke suddenly asked Tony.
Tony looked back at him with a strange expression: "They are weapons to begin with. Did you really think they were some kind of high-tech prosthetic limbs?"
"I mean, are their weapon systems loaded with live ammunition?" Subtle particles appeared on the clothes on Luke's arm, and under Luke's manipulation, they quickly combined in his palm into a small, USB-like pocket instrument.
"Of course not! God, I take back what I said." Tony had just made a judgment when he was slapped in the face by the steel soldiers on stage. A steel suit seemed to have lost control, and the machine gun mounted on its shoulder rotated, shattering the tempered glass ceiling of the expo hall. Seeing this scene, Tony used the communication system as soon as possible to have Jarvis summon his latest model, the Mark 7 suit, which could be remotely controlled and automatically put on.
The only thing he was grateful for now was that he never let his suit get too far away from him. In just a few dozen seconds, he could summon his suit and become the fearless Iron Man.
"James, are you okay? What happened?"
While summoning the suit, Tony didn't forget to contact his good brother standing on the stage, but after the other party's shoulder cannon pointed at him, Tony could only curse in his heart. At this moment, the celebrities and nobles in the venue had completely panicked, and they stood up from their seats and ran towards the door, crowding, pushing, arguing, and clamoring. The previously enthusiastic atmosphere of the exhibition hall suddenly changed its mode.
"In a while, you take Pepper and the others away, kid! I'll hold them back and lead them away..."
Before Tony could finish speaking, he saw Luke throw out a small black metal object. The out-of-control steel soldiers on the stage, including the Iron Titan with its gun pointed at him, staggered two steps before standing still as if they were having a seizure.
"Okay, how did you do that?"
Tony saw that the situation on the field had temporarily stabilized, and he also saw Luke's bodyguards running over, as well as the tail flames of his suit flying towards him.
"Information technology, data intrusion, that's all," Luke said.
