Astral Cockroach

#211 - Wild Little Warrior (Fifth Update)

It seemed they had finally found a topic they could discuss.

Banbu asked, "Blood Peach County Princess, are these little warriors born in your territory?"

"No," the Blood Peach County Princess said, "They are wild little warriors. They ran here wanting to steal snakeberries."

Blood Peach County was a rich and vast county, centered around a sea of peach trees, with scattered settlements of over a thousand Firefly Roach tribe warriors.

Due to the frequent activity of a large number of high-level warriors, the number of small animals such as snakes, rats, and birds that threatened ordinary cockroaches had decreased. Outside the warriors' territory, there were also a large number of ordinary little cockroaches surviving in the natural environment. With such a huge base number, there was a certain probability of little warriors being born.

These little warriors, born in the wild and not direct descendants of any warrior, were called "wild little warriors."

Wild little warriors had no direct elders and were not protected by any warrior. They grew up by "eating from a hundred families": today, they would freeload a little food and drink in this warrior's territory, and tomorrow they would run to that warrior's territory for a meal.

They would continue freeloading until the lifeblood plant they owned began to produce Origin Force food.

"Those two little fellows are quite lively," Banbu praised.

Flame Cluster Banmao, realizing that the Blood Peach County Princess lacked the majesty expected of a county princess, plucked up his courage and said, "Blood Peach County Princess, you should teach them that Origin Force fruits should only be picked after they are fully ripe."

"I know, I know," the Blood Peach County Princess said, not caring at all. She fanned her membranous wings and asked, "Banbu, did you bring all the Blood Thorns? The quantity isn't small, is it?"

Banbu opened the silk pouch and said, "Time was short, so they haven't been completely dried. You can dry them in the sun before storing them."

The Blood Peach County Princess swept her mental power over them and said, "Dry them for what? I'll just eat them directly."

The Blood Peach County Princess stirred her mental power again and shouted, "Crimson Purple Snakeberry, help me get 450 Blood Peach kernels down."

There was no response. On the opposite side of the terraced fields, a high-level warrior flapped his wings and ascended into the air, flying towards the Blood Peach tree on the mountain. Soon, he returned carrying a silk pouch and landed beside the Blood Peach County Princess.

The Blood Peach County Princess said, "One bag is 500 kernels. I'll round it up for you. 450 kernels, I owe you 11. You rarely come here, so stay. Tonight, when the snakeberry fruits ripen, there will be a feast. Eat as much as you can. Is that okay?"

According to the agreed price, 3000 Blood Thorns should be exchanged for 461 Blood Peach kernels, short 11 kernels, the difference being no more than 281 Origin Stones.

Banbu and Flame Cluster Banmao, two high-level warriors, could earn it back in one night.

"No problem," Banbu said, "Thank you, Blood Peach County Princess!"

Crimson Purple Snakeberry said nothing, directly opened the silk pouch, counted out 50 Blood Peach kernels, and poured them into the silk pouch containing the Blood Thorns.

The two little warriors who had left earlier returned, hiding in the grass not far away, peeking and looking around.

Crimson Purple Snakeberry shook his antennae and beckoned, "Little fellows, come here."

As he spoke, he took out two Blood Thorns from the silk pouch.

"Don't!" The Blood Peach County Princess waved her antennae and struck Crimson Purple Snakeberry's foreleg fiercely, stopping him. "These two little brats are very cunning. Don't give them any to eat."

Crimson Purple Snakeberry said helplessly, "Blood Peach County Princess, the two little fellows don't have elders to take care of them. They're quite pitiful. Don't tease them."

"Who's teasing them? I'm training them," the Blood Peach County Princess said, shaking her body and pushing Crimson Purple Snakeberry away. She snatched the silk pouch, waved her antennae, and drove them away. "Go, go, go, busy yourself with your own things, don't make trouble."

"…" Crimson Purple Snakeberry lightly nodded his antennae towards Banbu and Flame Cluster Banmao, then flapped his wings and left.

The Blood Peach County Princess hugged the silk pouch, pinched a Blood Thorn, waved her antennae, and beckoned to the two little warriors, "Come here, delicious."

The two little warriors couldn't resist the temptation and approached.

The Blood Peach County Princess put the Blood Thorns back into the silk pouch, stretched out her foreleg, and pointed to the field not far away, filled with ordinary snakeberries. "Help me harvest the fruits and pile them together, and I'll reward you with a Blood Thorn."

One little warrior said, "We won't believe you anymore."

Another little warrior said angrily, "You're a liar!"

The Blood Peach County Princess said seriously, "I guarantee it with the reputation of a county princess. I definitely won't lie to you this time."

The two little warriors shook their antennae, expressing their distrust.

Banbu swept his mental power and discovered that the ordinary snakeberry fruits in a field in the distance had all been harvested and neatly piled up. He suddenly understood what was going on. The Blood Peach County Princess was just bored and teasing these two little fellows.

She was even tricking the little warriors into working for her.

"You give us the Blood Thorns first," one little warrior said.

"We'll help you work after we finish eating," the other little warrior echoed.

The Blood Peach County Princess said, "Work first, then eat."

The two little warriors shook their antennae, refusing to agree, unwilling to be deceived again.

After a stalemate, the Blood Peach County Princess finally compromised, took out two Blood Thorns, and gave them to the two little warriors.

The two little fellows peeled open the Blood Thorns, hurriedly finished eating… and turned around and ran.

The Blood Peach County Princess was truly bored, and caught them back, throwing them into the field.

The two little warriors escaped again.

Then they were caught back again.

For the entire afternoon, Banbu and Flame Cluster Banmao watched the Blood Peach County Princess catch and bully the two little warriors of her own tribe.

After obtaining her consent, Banbu took Flame Cluster Banmao into the peach forest to observe and learn.

Starting from Crimson Rock County and gradually moving north, the soil began to become sandy and difficult to store water. They mainly looked at how the Firefly Roach tribe built ponds, designed ditches, diverted water for irrigation during the dry season, and drained floodwater during the rainy season.

This Firefly Roach tribe of the Longevity Roach King had been developing for about a thousand years, and the accumulation of various farming and breeding experiences had become mature. There must be valuable things that Banbu had not thought of, which would help expand the Bamboo Sea.

In addition, Banbu was carefully observing the Origin Force concentration in different locations, feeling both envy and helplessness.

The Brocade Screen Mountains and the Iron Saber Mountains were indeed barren. If the average Origin Force concentration was defined as 1, then the Origin Force concentration of Li Bamboo Peak should be around 2.5. The Iron Saber Peak of the Iron Saber Mountains had an Origin Force concentration of only about 2.

Crimson Rock County could not be considered rich. The Origin Force concentration in most areas was still 1, only the area centered on the Crimson Rock Tree Sea was slightly higher, around 1.2.

Blood Peach County could be considered rich. The Peach Tree Sea had a general Origin Force concentration exceeding 1.5, and the Origin Force concentration in many areas could reach around 2.

The small mountain range where the Blood Peach County Princess lived had an Origin Force concentration exceeding 3, and the key was that the area was particularly large.

Having a high Origin Force concentration in the settled territory had too many benefits, which can be summarized in two points: the probability of giving birth to a God-given Species increases; and it saves money to manage the territory.

For example, the Blood Peach County Princess's snakeberry God-given Species. In the fruit ripening season, there was no need to invest Origin Stones at all, as the natural Origin Force was sufficient to meet the demand.

Banbu and Flame Cluster Banmao wandered until dusk before returning to the Blood Peach County Princess's territory.

The Blood Peach County Princess saw that it was almost dark, and only then did she allow the two poor little warriors to leave, giving each of them a Blood Thorn as labor remuneration, and before leaving, she instructed them: continue to come and play tomorrow.

The two little warriors took the things, without even turning their heads, and fled frantically.

"Cultivating little warriors requires more training," the Blood Peach County Princess said with emotion, "So tiring!"

Banbu and Flame Cluster Banmao were both speechless.

The Blood Peach County Princess opened the silk pouch, took out the Blood Thorns, ate them while asking, "Banbu, I heard that you have cultivated high-quality bamboo species that can flower and bear seeds every year?"

Finally, things had returned to normal, and everyone could sit down and talk business.

Banbu replied, "Yes, there are currently two bamboo species, Emerald Bamboo and Rain Bamboo, which have been handed over to the merchant team for sale."

The Blood Peach County Princess asked, "Similar to hybrid rice, can it only be used for lifeblood nurturing and cannot be cultivated?"

Banbu said, "Yes."

"We've tried it, the bamboo species is very good," the Blood Peach County Princess said, "The merchant teams all give away two seeds as a gift during transactions. The quantity is too small. Next year, get me some more."

"No problem, I'll also give them away for free," Banbu's thoughts turned, and he said, "Blood Peach County Princess, Blood Peach is a rare high-quality tree species, and the fresh fruit tastes especially good. Can you give me a few seeds?"

The Blood Peach County Princess asked, "To use as lifeblood?"

Banbu said, "Yes."

"I can give you a few," the Blood Peach County Princess agreed, and warned, "It can only be used as lifeblood, and you are not allowed to cultivate and reproduce it, let alone spread it to other races."

Banbu agreed, "I understand."

This time, the Blood Peach County Princess personally went up the mountain, brought back 5 Blood Peach seeds, and after a solemn entrustment, she was willing to hand them over to Banbu.
