#70 - Oden Perenold: Master Aiel, you are always
Chapter 70 Auden Pirenold: Master Al, you will always be a friend of Alterac.
Edman traveled back and forth between several human kingdoms with Antonidas's letter.
Although there was a permanent portal, the high-intensity work still made him a little tired.
And today was the day he visited King Menethil.

Speaking of human kingdoms, we have to mention their ancestors - the Vrykul.
As Titan creations, the Iron Vrykul were subjected to the Curse of Flesh from the Old Gods after the Titans left Azeroth.
This terrifying curse made some of the Vrykul short and weak, and their original steel-like bodies gradually mutated into flesh and blood.
They, who originally possessed eternal life, also experienced birth, aging, sickness, and death.
This mutated group of Iron Vrykul followed the Titan Guardian Tyr and fled to what is now the Eastern Kingdoms.
But in order to protect them, in order to protect this world, Tyr bravely fought the Old God's minion Kith'ix and fell here.
In order to commemorate their friend, the Vrykul named this land where Tyr heroically sacrificed himself Tirisfal, now the Tirisfal Glades.
After thousands of years, the bodies of these Vrykul became even shorter and more fragile, but these creatures had a tenacious and powerful will and superb survival skills, enabling them to thrive on this continent where trolls and other threats coexisted.
Thousands of years later, humans, who are the degenerated Vrykul, possessed their first dynasty - the Arathor Empire.
The ambitious Emperor Thoradin united with the High Elves to defeat the troll overlord of the time - the Amani Empire, and actively learned magic from the elves, establishing the magical city of Dalaran with the first batch of 100 mages {the future Council of Tirisfal} as the foundation.
In the following millennia, with the unexplained disappearance of Emperor Thoradin and various other reasons, the huge human empire of Arathor gradually disintegrated and split into seven countries, namely:
The magical city of Dalaran {Kingmaker}, the Kingdom of Alterac, the Kingdom of Lordaeron, the Kingdom of Gilneas, the maritime kingdom of Kul Tiras, the Kingdom of Azeroth {Stormwind}, and the former capital of the Arathor Empire - the Kingdom of Stromgarde.
These kingdoms were entrenched in various parts of the continent of Lordaeron {Eastern Kingdoms}, maintaining marriages, trade, or wars for thousands of years.
… …
Tirisfal Glades, capital of the Kingdom of Lordaeron.
King Menethil I stood nervously outside the delivery room, surrounded by his retainers and servants.
Today was the queen's day of delivery, which made the originally dignified and steady monarch a little anxious.
"How is the queen?"
Menethil nervously grabbed a maid who had just walked out of the delivery room, his iron-like palm tightly gripping the maid's slender arm.
The maid whimpered in pain, but still said in panic:
"Congratulations, Your Majesty, both mother and son are safe."
"Hahahaha, mother and son, mother and son, it's a boy, it's a boy."
King Menethil put his arm around the servant beside him and shouted excitedly, then, as if thinking of something, rushed into the delivery room.
As soon as he entered the delivery room, he saw the exhausted queen and the small swaddling clothes by the bed.
"Jennie, are you okay?"
King Menethil resisted the urge to pick up the swaddling clothes and sat on the chair next to the queen, gently wiping the sweat from her forehead with a gentle expression.
"Your Majesty, this is our child…"
The queen endured the cramping pain in her abdomen and held the small swaddling clothes in her arms, allowing King Menethil to see their child better.
The king trembled and placed the swaddling clothes in his palm.
"Jennie, he…is so small, and his skin is wrinkled, can I kiss him?"
The queen chuckled and nodded slightly.
The king gently placed his lips on the baby's forehead, quickly retracting them after a slight touch, for fear of hurting the baby in his hand.
This king, who was usually strong-willed, became extremely gentle at this time.
He leaned close to the baby's ear and whispered in a voice that others could not hear:
Child,
When you were born,
The forests of Lordaeron whispered your name
Terenas
Child,
I proudly watch you grow up day by day,
Become the embodiment of justice.
You must remember that we have always ruled this country with wisdom and strength.
I also believe that you will use your powerful power with caution.
But, the real victory,
Is to inspire the fighting spirit in the hearts of your people.
One day,
My life will come to an end,
And you will be crowned king.
Terenas Menethil: So the lines are inherited from the ancestors?
… …
Just as this heartwarming scene of fatherly love and filial piety was slowly fermenting, a "knock knock" sound rang out outside the door.
A look of impatience appeared in Menethil's eyes, but he still told the queen a few words and quietly walked out of the delivery room.
"What's the matter?"
"Your Majesty, there is an envoy from Dalaran who wants to visit you."
"Dalaran? Okay, I'll go now."
King Menethil put on a gorgeous formal dress with the service of the eunuch.
This formal dress was one of the few styles he liked, and these details were enough to show Lordaeron's emphasis on Dalaran.
… …
Edman sat in the banquet hall, waiting anxiously.
Lordaeron was the first human country he visited.
Such magnificent decorations and the majestic palace still made this little man feel a little breathless.
He didn't know why Antonidas would entrust this important matter to him, but he understood that there must be the shadow of that elven boy behind this matter.
Just then, rapid footsteps echoed through the wide corridor. Edman immediately stood up, watching the King of Lordaeron walk into the banquet hall.
“Your Majesty, greetings. My name is Edman, and I am an envoy sent by Archmage Antonidas…”
“Welcome, envoy. Please, take a seat.”
“It has been several years since I last saw the Archmage. I wonder how his health is, if he is still as hale as before?”
Menehil spoke to Edman with a smile, his gentle tone making Edman feel flattered.
“Thank you for your concern. The Archmage is in excellent health. He is also concerned about your well-being and asked me to convey that, despite your busy state affairs, you should prioritize your health.”
…
Thus, the two exchanged pleasantries before taking their seats as host and guest.
“Envoy, you have traveled far. I wonder, what message does the Archmage have for me?”
“This is a letter from the Archmage that he entrusted me to deliver to you. Please, take a look.”
A servant took the letter from Edman’s hand and respectfully handed it to King Menehil.
Unsealing the bright red wax, Menehil began to read it carefully.
After a long while, under Edman’s anxious gaze, the King sighed.
“Regarding the Archmage’s invitation, I would be delighted to attend. However, unfortunately, my son has just been born. I hope the envoy won’t laugh, but he and his mother need me very much right now.”
Edman opened his mouth, but could only stand up and congratulate him, saying,
“Congratulations, Your Majesty. Your son will surely become a great king like you in the future.”
“Haha, you flatter me, envoy. Since that’s the case, please convey my apologies to the Archmage when you return.”
…
Led by a servant, Edman prepared to head to the permanent portal to return to Dalaran and report this matter to Antonidas, but he touched another letter in his chest, feeling somewhat hesitant.
Just as King Menehil was about to step out of the banquet hall, Edman, as if making up his mind, gritted his teeth and shouted loudly.
“Your Majesty, please wait!”
Menehil revealed an impatient expression, his back to Edman. His child had just been born, making him somewhat eager to leave. But as he turned around, a slight smile returned to his lips as he softly said:
“Is there anything else, envoy?”
“Forgive me, Your Majesty, but I also have a letter here from Master Ayr.”
“Ayr… Wait, are you saying…”
The previously nonchalant King seemed to realize something, asking with some excitement:
“Is it Master Ayr Saronar? The one from Saronar’s Alchemy Workshop?”
“Yes… Yes.”
Edman was almost dumbfounded by the King’s sudden enthusiasm, stuttering a bit.
‘Good heavens, is that elven boy really that famous? Even the usually iron-blooded and powerful King Menehil recognizes him?’
“Haha, quickly, quickly bring me Master Ayr’s letter. I am eager to know what Master Ayr has to say to me.”
Menehil was no longer calm and gentle as before, becoming somewhat agitated.
…
Edman arrived at the permanent portal to Dalaran with a dazed expression, not even hearing the servant’s polite farewell.
Just now, after King Menehil saw Ayr’s letter, without saying a word, he didn’t even care about the newborn prince, hurriedly instructing the servants to pack their luggage, preparing to return with him, and if the courtiers beside him hadn’t held him back tightly, His Majesty might have already arrived in Dalaran.
According to His Majesty Menehil, he couldn’t wait to see Master Ayr’s face.
…
Returning to Dalaran, Edman didn’t stop, heading straight for the portal to Kul Tiras.
And then…
Kul Tiras
King Proudmoore: What? Master Ayr is going to give a grand lecture in Dalaran? First Mate, where is my First Mate? Quickly summon the tide sages, I will ensure that the surging sea can no longer stop me from seeing Master Ayr.
Stromgarde
King Thoras Trollbane: An invitation from Dalaran? The recent Woodpaw gnolls have been quite rampant, it’s not that I don’t want to go, it’s just… Wait, Master Ayr? Damn it, why didn’t you say so sooner.
Guards, quickly fetch my highland steed, and some dry rations and water. Retinue? To hell with the retinue, call General XX to me, bring the strongest lads from Stromgarde, we’re leaving before dusk.
The attitudes of the kings of Stormwind and Gilneas were the same. After seeing Ayr Saronar's letter, they all eagerly packed their bags and prepared to go to Dalaran.
Why no Alterac? Because King Aiden Perenolde of Alterac had already arrived at Ayr’s residence through the portal, drinking and chatting with the young man.
“Master Ayr, look, can Alterac have a larger allocation of the Limited Invincibility Belt, perhaps 5% more?”
“What? There's already a 2.0 version? That’s great, a 5% discount? Thank you, thank you for your generosity, you will always be a friend of Alterac…”
PS: Posting first, then editing.
The history of the seven human kingdoms seems relatively normal, but in fact, there are some serious flaws that are really inexcusable. Let's talk about Alterac. The first king was Aiden Perenolde, who was the traitor during the Orcish Wars. The key is that he was also a rich second-generation. You say, isn’t that infuriating… And there’s the Menehil royal family of Lordaeron. Arthas was actually Menehil III, and his father was II. If calculated according to the timeline of the chronicles, the seven human kingdoms have been split for at least a thousand years, maybe even two thousand years, so… it’s all Blizzard’s fault. The author can only guarantee that there won't be such “hard” flaws in his book.
