Role Play

“Wow, what is this even?”

Choi Iseo and Yoo Arin entered the private jacuzzi inside the hotel after their workout.

Thanks to its high location, the distant beach spread out before them, providing a truly grand sense of openness.

“I’ve only seen things like this on YouTube.”

Wrapping a towel around her body, Yoo Arin quickly rinsed off with the nearby shower before stepping into the jacuzzi.

As Choi Iseo timidly followed her in, her tense expression relaxed, and she felt at peace.

Bubbles rose and the atmosphere was enhanced by a few flower petals scattered around, definitely providing a sense of healing.

“The scent is nice.”

As the floral fragrance loosened Choi Iseo’s lips, Yoo Arin glanced at her and asked, “Why were you suddenly so tense?”

“T-tensed? I wasn’t!”

“Fix your speech. Earlier during the workout, you kept pressuring me to do one more, and now you’re tense when it’s time to wash up?”

“…….”

Choi Iseo lowered her body slightly, submerging her mouth in the water. It was her way of resisting the urge to answer, but Yoo Arin didn’t back down.

Eventually, Choi Iseo straightened herself and countered with a question of her own.

“Actually, I want to ask you. Aren’t you feeling anything? We, the three of us, did it together, right?”

“When are you talking about?”

“Listen. So, I feel a bit uncomfortable washing up or doing things with you. It’s fine normally, but—”

“Hmm, I can see that. Honestly, it wasn’t a typical experience.”

“Right? It’s a bit… awkward, isn’t it? Don’t you think so?”

“I’m not particularly bothered. I don’t really think about it anymore. Maybe being around that jerk has twisted my common sense a bit?”

“…….”

Choi Iseo had been having similar thoughts recently. Especially since she had once told the Chairman that she resembled him because she loved him.

“Cough, what was it you wanted to say earlier?”

Choi I-seo, who didn’t think much of this topic, subtly changed the subject.

“Did you fight with Senior Joo-hee? I noticed the atmosphere seemed a bit tense.”

“Fight? What fight? We just talked a bit.”

“…….”

When I stared at her, urging her not to lie, Yoo Ah-rin looked away and asked with a blank expression.

“Do you know why Senior Joo-hee followed us?”

“It’s for security, right? I heard that if she’s not a security guard we know, it might be uncomfortable for us, so she came.”

“That’s not all.”

Then Yoo Ah-rin recounted what she had just heard from Min Joo-hee.

Wondering if she might have made a mistake, she explained as objectively as possible to Choi I-seo and asked for her opinion.

“What do you think? Honestly, I think it’s crossing a line for someone to interfere in matters between a couple.”

“That’s true. But it’s not completely incomprehensible. Since they don’t know everything about your father, Senior Joo-hee, or Woo-jin.”

Choi I-seo seemed to have forgotten her embarrassment and continued explaining casually.

“They probably don’t realize that Woo-jin isn’t just seeking simple pleasure in relationships.”

“Tch.”

Yoo Ah-rin agreed with that sentiment but didn’t quite like the fact that they were on the same wavelength.

She thought she was the only one who had noticed.

“If he’s told not to do something, he won’t do it, right?”

“Isn’t that just how he is?!”

Yoo Ah-rin suddenly shouted in response to Choi I-seo’s words.

From noble mtl dot com

“He acts like he’d give up everything, but when it comes to something important, he forces me to make a choice?”

“That… I can agree with that quite a bit.”

“And then he says he’ll follow my opinion. It’s like he just wants to hear what I want.”

“On the contrary, it seems like the answer you want won’t come out, right? Then he ignores it and pushes forward.”

“Wow, damn! Exactly! That’s it! Honestly, it’s a bit frustrating at those times! It feels like I’m being toyed with!”

A sudden sense of camaraderie formed.

The two of them had begun to exchange their unfiltered opinions about Kim Woo-jin in the jacuzzi.

* * *

‘Hmm.’

As soon as I opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was Seo Ye-rin, snugly nestled in my arms.

She was lying with her back to me, so I couldn’t see her face, but judging by her soft, rhythmic breathing, it seemed she was still asleep.

I wanted to get up and check the time, but I didn’t want to let go of the soft, pleasant Seo Ye-rin.

‘No bra, huh.’

I hadn’t noticed earlier because I was tired, but when I grasped her chest once, it felt full and firm.

“Ahm.”

Seo Ye-rin let out a faint moan.

Touching her through the thin T-shirt was quite a delight. With my eyes closed and continuing to caress her, I naturally felt tension building in my lower body.

Here I was in Hawaii, lying in bed and touching her chest.

‘Life is really being lived to the fullest.’

Could there be another college student living as diligently as I am?

Not wanting to just keep fondling her chest, I thought about moving on to the next step and slowly opened my eyes.

“…….”

“…….”

I locked eyes with Oh Yoon-ji, who was sitting on the opposite bed, arms crossed, looking at me.

“Uh, um.”

Aside from Seo Ye-rin’s soft moans as I touched her chest, there was no conversation between us.

The silence settled in.

“Ahh.”

Seo Ye-rin’s moan cut through the quiet again.

“Could you stop touching that?”

Finally unable to hold back, Oh Yoon-ji spoke up, and only then did I remove my hand from her chest.

“Sorry, it’s just too addictive.”

“Do you want to do that in front of your ex-girlfriend?”

“……I suddenly thought of something, but I won’t say it. I feel like I’d get hit if I did.”

“Go ahead.”

“No way.”

“Just do it.”

Carefully getting off the bed, I ignored Oh Yoon-ji and checked the time.

I remembered falling asleep around 10 AM, but it was already 5 PM.

“I slept for a really long time.”

“You’re going to hide it until the end, huh?”

Oh Yoon-ji approached me, grumbling.

“I told you there’s nothing good about hearing it.”

“Just looking at the situation, it’s unexpected to be showing off with another girl in front of your ex—”

It was exciting.

That was what it was.

Anyway, Oh Yoon-ji had a good sense for this kind of thing.

She pinched my waist tightly.

It hurt, but honestly, I thought it was a cheap price to pay for this.

“Let’s eat. Aren’t you hungry?”

“I am hungry, but why are you here?”

I clearly remembered her being in another room, so how in the world could she be here?

When I asked, puzzled, Oh Yoon-ji brought over the room service menu and answered.

“All the kids went out, and I came because I was bored. I think Jin-ah and the others went out to play together.”

“Aren’t they tired? I’m still sleepy.”

Adjusting to the time difference is harder than I thought.

“They must be tired too. But since we’re in Hawaii, it would be a waste not to have fun first. I saw that the hotel has a lot of amenities, so you could spend the whole day having fun just staying in the hotel. It’s almost like a resort.”

“Really? Should I take a look around too?”

“Are you planning to go outside to eat?”

“Wouldn’t that be better? I feel like room service would be a bit lacking.”

“Then get ready and come out to the hallway. I’ll go to my room, get ready, and come out too.”

“Okay-.”

Wait a minute.

“I don’t think we should go together.”

The moment the other kids find out, I’d have to come up with an excuse, and I didn’t want to do that.

Everyone understands Yoon-ji in their own way, but no one would gladly accept the fact that their partner is hanging out with their ex.

“Then what should we do? Are we going to eat separately?”

“No, let’s just order room service and eat here together.”

Yoon-ji brought back the menu she had tossed aside. Even though we ordered food through room service, Seo Ye-rin was still asleep.

“She’s still sleeping.”

“Should I wake her up?”

As I reached out to wake Seo Yerin, Oh Yoon Ji stopped me.

“What are you waking her for? Just let her sleep.”

“No, but—.”

“Are you awkward because it’s just the two of us?”

“Hmm? No. Not at all.”

I really hadn’t thought about that even a little.

She seemed a bit flustered by my firm response.

“Then why do you want to wake her?”

“It’s just that if she sleeps like this, I’m worried about how much she’ll bounce around once she wakes up.”

“…….”

“If she plays her cards right, we could end up having s*x all night while the kids are asleep, you know? We can’t let her recharge right now.”

If things go wrong, the kids’ sleep patterns could get messed up, and we’d end up struggling throughout the Hawaii trip.

The kids would be out having fun during the day while Seo Yerin and I just sleep.

And when the kids are asleep, we’d have nothing to do but just focus on each other.

It’s not bad, but still.

Coming all the way to Hawaii just to have s*x and then go back seems a bit off, doesn’t it?

“Yerin, wake up. Okay? Just wake up a little.”

“Umm.”

“Come on, how tired can she be to wake her up like this?”

Thanks to Oh Yoon Ji’s constant objections, I eventually decided to just leave Seo Yerin be.

Thinking about how she’d wake up all energetic was a bit daunting, but the kids would probably manage just fine.

Feeling thirsty, I opened the fridge to find it stacked with Hawaiian beer and liquor.

It looked like the kids had bought it for tonight.

“Oh, American beer.”

As I quickly cracked open a can and took a sip, Oh Yoon Ji came over and took a sip too.

“It’s kind of ambiguous. I think I prefer Korean beer.”

“Well, you can only drink this here.”

“That’s true.”

The drinking party finally began.

Before the food arrived, we started chatting over beers.

“But does Seo Ye-rin really act that way? She doesn’t look like it at all. She’s the epitome of innocence. I feel like if someone said something suggestive, she’d immediately blush and turn her head away.”

“Hah, you really don’t know anything. If you knew what she writes in the bamboo forest, you’d be shocked.”

I couldn’t tell if it was the alcohol or the fact that we were just hanging out, but we talked freely like friends. However, because of our past as lovers, the conversation had a slightly higher intensity.

“I don’t think we were ever as crazy as we were back then. Remember that time we… you know, in the hallway at dawn?”

Oh Yun-ji, laughing as she sipped her beer, brought up the past.

“Wow, the moment we heard the neighbor’s door open, we ran straight home.”

“Back then, you were saying it hurt because you thought you had bent it while trying to pull it out.”

Right, that did happen.

I was on the verge of tears, wondering if I needed to go to the hospital.

“We did a lot of role plays too. What was it back then? Were we the convenience store owner and the part-timer?”

“Stranded man and woman, dog and owner, professor and teaching assistant. Wow, thinking back, we were incredibly diverse.”

“Remember when we were doing the dog and owner thing? We were fighting over who would be the owner.”

A few beer cans piled up.

It was hard to say we were drunk, but it was clear that our emotions were heightened.

The refreshing beer at the travel destination, the spacious hotel room, and the powerful air conditioning.

The happy times were buried under a bitter past. Yet, as we unraveled it again, our emotions were being redefined.

Clinking our beer cans together, we poured out our past as if to release some pent-up feelings.

It felt almost like a moment to prove that all our emotions had been resolved.

But was it really the case for Oh Yun-ji?

“I had one more role play I wanted to try.”

She took a sip of her beer and glanced at me, gauging my reaction.

“Role play? What?”

We had been brainstorming ideas, watching adult films and dramas, trying to come up with something new.

I thought we had done just about everything, but then Oh Yun-ji quietly approached me.

Setting her beer can down, she placed both hands on my shoulder and whispered softly.

“Ex-girlfriend and ex-boyfriend.”

“……!”

As if her body had lost all strength, Oh Yoon-ji slumped down and leaned against me. Thanks to her, I too was pushed back and fell.

“I missed you.”

She rubbed her face against my chest.

“Hey, wait a minute. This isn’t right.”

I desperately tried to push her away, but her hands had already tightly grasped my lower body.

“No matter how much time passes, I’ve always missed this. Thick, big, and solid.”

Then she exhaled hot breath and lightly bit my nape.

“I really don’t want to, but we’ve already broken up, and I don’t want to get tangled up with a jerk like you again. But this feels too good to resist.”

Is she acting?

Or is this real?

I don’t know what it is, but I tried to push her away to separate us.

“I can’t be filled by another man. Only you will do.”

“Wait a second. Did you date someone else after we broke up?”

I stared at Oh Yoon-ji, my eyes wide open at the line I absolutely couldn’t let slide.

She responded with an annoyed look.

“Are you crazy? I’m too busy working to meet anyone. This is a situation play.”

“Oh, right? It’s a situation play?”

What is this? Why am I feeling relieved?

As the tension in my body eased, Oh Yoon-ji grinned and asked, “Are you feeling reassured?”

I knew I had to say something, but the words wouldn’t come.

Even in the silence, Oh Yoon-ji subtly prepared to move again.

“Hey, stop it. You know we really shouldn’t be doing this.”

“It’s a situation play. The ex-girlfriend who can’t forget her ex-boyfriend’s belongings has come to find him.”

“We’re not in a place for a situation play anymore.”

“Why not? I think I look pretty good. Mixing reality and fantasy for a situation play is much better, don’t you think?”

That’s true.

So we didn’t just engage in absurd situation plays.

We only acted out scenarios that could really happen in real life, ones that felt plausible.

“First, get up. The kids are coming. Ye-rin might wake up too.”

As Oh Yoon-ji was being lifted, trying to regain her posture.

“Already.”

A chilling voice from behind sent shivers down my spine.

“I’m awake, Woo-jin.”

When I turned my head slightly, there sat Seo Ye-rin on the bed, arms crossed, staring intently at me.

Her gaze, so cold it felt like a chill, made the already cold room, thanks to the air conditioning, even more frigid.
