Lea held Gu Mengmeng’s little hand and sighed with a frown. “How many times must I tell you? Mmm? Don’t dirty your own hands…”

Gu Mengmeng looked at her own bloody hand with distaste.

Elvis had already brought over a basin of warm water. He took Gu Mengmeng from Lea’s lap and settled her in his own arms. Lea then dipped a piece of animal skin in the water, before using it to carefully clean Gu Mengmeng’s hand.

Meanwhile, Cole’s chest wound was rapidly healing as he continued staring fixedly at Gu Mengmeng.

Gu Mengmeng glanced sideways at Cole. “Now that you realize the limitations of your own powers, don’t provoke me again. I am not killing you now only because Chixuan’s life is in your hands. Cole smiled wordlessly, as he quietly gazed upon Gu Mengmeng, as if admiring her malevolent expression and finding it utterly beautiful.

Gu Mengmeng took a deep breath as she continuously told herself not to bother herself with perverts and not to try to understand their line of thinking.

Lea pinched Gu Mengmeng’s chin. “You are not allowed to dirty your clean hands again, understand?”

Gu Mengmeng nodded without a word. She just nestled in Elvis’ arms, refusing to look at Cole again.

Lea walked toward Cole, tail waving. He offered a hand to Cole. “Great Fox King, please don’t be angry. Our female is used to being willful and impetuous.”

Cole kept quiet but narrowed his eyes and sneered.

Ah Gu belonged to him. But this low-grade loser dared to flaunt his husband status in front of him? He didn’t know his place at all.

Brushing off Lea’s hand, Cole maintained the arrogant airs of a lord of Sauder. “Of course I will never get angry at Ah Gu. In my eyes, whatever she does it the best.”

Lea continued smiling very formally. He said in a gracious, yet detached manner, “Then… may I ask the Fox King, when does he intend to return our wolf pups to us?”

Cole glanced past Lea toward Gu Mengmeng as he answered, “I will return Ah Gu’s three sons on the day winter ends. It is impossible for first and second-level beasts to navigate the harsh weather now.”

Lea nodded. “The Great Fox King is indeed thoughtful and considerate. Then we shall follow your highness’ intention.”

Cole was extremely guarded against Lea’s humble attitude. There was a huge number past grudges and new grievances between the two of them. It was strange for Lea to be talking to him in such an amiable tone.

Lea grinned innocently. “Then I wonder if the Great Fox King has any other matters he wishes to inform us?”

Cole smiled. “What if I do? And what if I don’t?”

Lea replied, “If you do, please go ahead and tell us now. If not, please take your leave as my female needs to rest.”

Cole asked, “And if I refuse to leave?”

Lea shook his head with a vague smile. “You said Chixuan schemed against you, so what is his objective? Was he only trying to make Mengmeng hate you? I don’t think so… even if he didn’t do all this, Mengmeng already hates you enough, don’t you agree?”
