Chapter 510: Eighty-seven. New home

   Chapter 510 Eighty-seven. New home

Belfast, shrouded in eerie fog, is not silent.

   At least on the avenue.

Citizens who want to leave the city hold oil lamps and torches, drag their families and luggage, and gather from various streets to the avenues, forming a long dragon that spreads to the top of Sugard.

After everyone witnessed the weirdness of the three flesh and blood emerging from the sea, breathing mist, the people who were the first to fear have fled here. And when night fell and there was no good news from the radio, more disturbed citizens packed their bags and set foot on the road out of Belfast in order to avoid danger.

They fear a repeat of the Zenster incident.

In the   long dragon, a strange line mixed in: a tall, dark-haired man in a black coat followed by seven boys and girls holding hands.

Scattered all over the avenue, the exorcist in charge of guarding the crowd noticed this strange group, and then his eyes touched the badge on the man's chest, and nodded lightly at him.

After walking with the crowd for ten minutes, the man and the children turned into the deserted street on the right.

The sense of security is accompanied by being away from the crowd behind, and it is also gone away like a cocoon. The children huddled together again, closely following Lu Li.

The youngest girl was held by Wei Er, and the other hand was holding her favorite teddy bear. Looking at Lu Li's back, she suddenly took a few steps and raised her hand, wanting to give it to Lu Li.

Weier gently dragged her back to her side and patted her head to make her be more honest.

They only brought what was necessary, everything else was left in the "camp", including canned food and some dried fish. Lu Li said that he would go back tomorrow to get these.

"How long will we go? My feet hurt." The little girl raised her right foot and jumped forward.

"I'll hug you." Wei Er reluctantly hugged her, the little girl laughed a few times, took Wei Er's glasses and put them in her jacket pocket.

"It's taking too long to go like this, I'll take you there?" Anna said in Lu Li's ear.

"They are too young for contact." Lu Li replied that children's minds are more easily contaminated. After thinking about it, he added: "There is a police station in the Love block further ahead, you can go to them to borrow a carriage."

"Um."

  Anna is quiet again.

The windows of the buildings on the street are shining brightly, and occasionally there are citizens walking past nervously with their family’s luggage, which more or less dispels the loneliness in the children’s hearts.

The chaotic footsteps continued for a few minutes, and suddenly disappeared as the front footsteps stopped.

   "There is something ahead..."

Lu Li frowned and looked at the gray street a dozen meters ahead.

An obscure aura that belongs to weirdness is surging.

Without the slightest hesitation, Lu Li stepped up the steps of a house and knocked on the door.

   "Anna." Lu Li whispered.

  Kacha——

There is a sound of unlocking from behind the door.

Pressing the door handle, Lu Li pushed open the door and turned back to the children under the steps and said, "There is something weird ahead, hide in first."

"Oh." Wei Er answered quickly, walking past Lu Li with her younger siblings.

After all the children came in, Lu Li tightly closed the door and locked it, and leaned in front of the cat to observe the outside world.

  噔噔——

There were footsteps on the stairs behind him, and then a man asked in surprise: "You are..."

The man of the house came downstairs with a wooden stick in his hand - but his face was only surprised, without fear or other emotions.

Thinking about it, neither thieves nor monsters would break in with a group of children.

"Shh..." Wei Er and Mela made a silent gesture at the same time, and pointed to the door: "There are monsters outside."

The little girl in her arms also booed, and Wei Er dragged her little hand down.

The    panic appeared on the man's face, subconsciously wondering if it was the monsters that these guys attracted, but the man in front of the door never looked back, so he kept quiet and looked down nervously.

The obscure atmosphere on the street was approaching, and gradually appeared outside the cat's eyes——it was a figure that could not be seen, only the evacuated mist formed a distorted and twitching humanoid silhouette, slowly moving on the street——

The children in the hallway and the host on the stairs held their breaths in unison. The curtains blocked their view, making it difficult for them to see what it was, but the constant rubbing of joints from "Gragra" was getting closer.

After dozens of seconds, the chilling voice gradually faded away.

After waiting patiently for another two minutes, Lu Li stood up straight and left Maoyan.

"What is that..." At this moment, the host dared to ask, his voice was hoarse.

"Something in the fog." Lu Li looked up at him and opened the door to let the children out: "Thank you for providing shelter, we should leave."

   "No...you're welcome."

The host replied stunned, watching Lu Li close the door and disappear.

The sound of footsteps outside the door gradually receded, and for some reason, the male host was suddenly a little uneasy - as if he was leaving the warm fire and stepping into the cold darkness.

He almost tried to stop them.

"What's the matter, my dear?" His wife's voice suddenly came from behind him. He saw his wife appear by the door, covering his bulging stomach and looking worried.

"It's nothing, go back to the room and hide..."

The host shook his head gently, suppressed the inexplicable loss in his heart, and returned to the bedroom.

  …

Ten minutes later, Lu Li stepped into Love Street.

He borrowed a carriage from the police station and quickly rushed to the warehouse in Elm Street with the children.

Weier patted the little girl and asked her to go to Meera's place. She climbed out of the car and sat beside Lu Li. She raised her head and asked, "Mr. Lu Li, what was in the fog just now?"

"I have no idea."

"Don't you even know..." Wei Er, who had already known Lu Li's identity in the police station before, said in surprise.

"Most people who have witnessed the weirdness with their own eyes have a hard time telling others what they have encountered." For this smart little girl, Lu Li intentionally told her more.

“And know they usually come at a price.”

"The price?" Wei Er tilted her head in confusion.

"The price of acquiring knowledge." Lu Li said.

Otherwise, the slayers would have been able to publish information on the eccentrics long ago, and would no longer need to destroy a large number of books and separate themselves from the commoners.

Humans are so weak that even knowing they exist would pay a price.

"Mr. Lu Li, this world... doesn't belong to us anymore?" Wei Er asked deeply in a tender voice.

After a moment of silence, Lu Li replied to Wei Er: "Maybe it never belongs to us."

  …

The speed of the carriage is much faster than walking, and even if it feels weird, there is enough time to turn around and stay away.

Near 7 p.m., the carriage drove into Elm Street, passing the ruins that had been destroyed by the cannibalistic house incident. The carriage stopped at the warehouse on the edge of Elm Street.

"We have arrived."
