Chapter 110 - Three Headed Vampire Bat

Looking into the distance through the binoculars, Lin Feng’s jaw dropped. 

A bird with three heads, although it couldn’t be clearly seen, from its shape it definitely wasn’t small. With its fierce three headed appearance and sharp teeth, Lin Feng could feel his heart shiver. 

The speed of the bird was incredibly fast, and it flew towards the north of the base, but was immediately hit by one of the blue laser beams. 

The laser struck the bird and burned a hole straight through its wing, but the large bird merely swayed a little before it continued to fly towards the base. 

The laser didn’t kill it!

Seeing this, Lin Feng wondered just how strong this bird was. Although the laser wasn’t the world’s greatest weapon, it was still much more formidable than a pulse weapon. These particular laser weapons were able to kill third class zombies with a single strike. But when struck by the laser, the large bird was merely injured and not killed, which meant that it was incredibly tough. 

The large bird drew closer, and Lin Feng could see its appearance more clearly. He could see that it should have been a bat, but after its transformation it gained three heads. If this creature could even be named, Lin Feng would call it the three-headed vampire bat. 

Following up quickly, more of the laser beams flew out, one after another, towards the three-headed vampire bat and thoroughly killed it. The giant corpse fell from the sky, but since the distance was too far, Lin Feng couldn’t see where it landed. 

After the three-headed vampire bat was killed by the laser, something even worse appeared. Lin Feng watched as the horizon started to turn red, like it did during the second apocalypse rain. 

No, it wasn’t another apocalypse rain, but a huge number of three-headed vampire bats. 

The were innumerable three-headed vampire bats flying towards Tianlong base. There were so many that they even covered up the sky. 

“Damn it, where did all these flying savage beasts come from!”

Seeing the situation developing in the distance, Lin Feng swore to himself. 

This was practically disrupting the natural order of things. This many three-headed vampire bats, with strength comparable to third class zombies. They were just second class savage beast, but it was the first time Lin Feng had seen so many savage beast and ones that could fly. 

Lin Feng knew that there were flying beasts in the apocalypse, but never had they appeared in such great number. The current scene had completely changed Lin Feng’s views on the world. 

Seeing so many three-headed vampire bats, Lin Feng’s scalp went numb and was drenched in cold sweat. 

The three-headed vampire bats should be second class savage beasts, but comparable in strength to third class zombies and fifth class cultivators, which was how strong Lin Feng was. 

If he had to deal with just one or two, Lin Feng was confident that he would win, even if the enemy had three heads. 

But with so many second class savage beasts, Lin Feng seriously considered fleeing. 

The amount of energy that a laser consumed was enormous, which was why they were so expensive to operate. When Zhan Lang base was faced with the zombie tide, very few people used laser weapons. Even the guards in Zhan Lang base used ordinary pulse based weapons. 

Lin Feng didn’t know how long Tianlong base’s laser weapons could be used, or if they would even be able to eliminate all the three-headed vampire bats. But seeing the rate at which the lasers were fired, it was clear that they wouldn’t last for long. 

Right now, there were three-headed vampire bats crossing the border of the base. Since the base’s laser weapons were strong enough, three-headed vampire bats continued to fall from the sky. But there were so many three-headed vampire bats that only a tiny portion of them were killed. 

The guards on the road next to the abandoned building started to shoot at the three-headed vampire bats in the distance. Lin Feng saw that 90% of the guards used ordinary pulse weapons with a few of them using laser guns. He watched the lasers fly towards the three-headed vampire bats, but there was only a few weak beams. 

The pulse weapons couldn’t inflict much damage on the three-headed vampire bats, like how a needle couldn’t inflict much damage on an adult person. Only if vulnerable parts were hit or the target was hit with an overwhelming amount of times could a three-headed vampire bat be killed. 

The only advantage was the sheer quantity of guards. In addition, those who lived in the base also pulled out their weapons to combat the three-headed vampire bats. Three-headed vampire bats started to fall from the sky and hit the ground. Whether or not the falling three-headed vampire bats killed anyone with their weight, Lin Feng wasn’t able to find out. 

The situation seemed to settle with Tianlong base maintaining an advantage, the weapons of humanity slaughtered the three-headed vampire bats without end. But within moments, the situation reversed. 

It wasn’t known which three-headed vampire bat started it, but everyone knew that the three-headed vampire bats started to spit basketball sized fireballs. In an instant, upon Tianlong base rained down balls of fire from each of the three-headed vampire bats mouths. 

“BANG!”

The fireballs exploded when they hit the ground, splashing fire in all directions. Some of the fireballs directly hit a person, instantly engulfing them in flames. Others watched as the victims could only roll on the ground while screaming pitifully. But after mere moments of rolling and screaming, the bodies would be still. 

Fireballs fell from the sky without end, several hundred of the thousand three-headed vampire bats simultaneously shot out fireballs. Thousands of fireballs rained down from the sky upon Tianlong base, the casualties they would cause could just be imagined. The three-headed vampire bats were just like bomber aircraft, turning the northern side of Tianlong base into a sea of flames. 

The three-headed vampire bats were still far away from Lin Feng’s position, but seeing that the three-headed vampire bats could shoot fireballs, the guards posted next to Lin Feng started to retreat. In an instant, the road next to Lin Feng had been deserted. 

The only advantage the base had was that the fireballs weren’t unending, as after the first wave of fireballs, the three-headed vampire bats stopped shooting them so frequently. 

Seeing this, Lin Feng wondered if the fireballs had an energy restriction, or if the three-headed vampire bats had to let the skill cool down before using it again. 

Running quickly to the first floor, Lin Feng prepared to leave this location as soon as he could. Right now, the three-headed vampire bats were headed straight for this direction. Lin Feng didn’t think that a lone person could face so many three-headed vampire bats in an old run down building with most of the windows broken, it was incredibly risky. The little silver wolf saw Lin Feng start to leave and followed behind him. 

One minute, from the appearance of the three-headed vampire bats to the northern side of Tianlong base being turned into a sea of flames, only a single minute had passed by. The three-headed vampire bats could fly incredibly fast, causing Tianlong Base massive losses in merely a minute. 

The three-headed vampire bats that had shot fireballs started to dive down and attack the guards directly. Their large physiques made humans look insignificant and weak in comparison. Beside the cultivators, almost none of the people could even tell when they were being targeted by a three-headed vampire bat. Many people were sliced in two by the three-headed vampire bat’s razor sharp teeth. Blood and viscera completely covered the streets, a scene too horrible to watch. 

A group of three-headed vampire bats was headed in his direction and just as Lin Feng had left the building, one of the three-headed vampire bats spotted him and flew straight at him.
