After they removed Jiang Yao's phone, the man opened the door and carried her inside. Jiang Yao detected a strong scent of books and ink as soon as she stepped into the room. When she could see the furnishings in the room, she realized it was a study.

"Master Cheng, I've returned with her." The man did not throw her onto the ground. Instead, he placed her gently on the sofa.

Then he said, "I am sure you're awake when you get out of the car. Stop faking it."

The man nudged Jiang Yao's shoulder as he spoke. "An unconscious person has a different breathing rate than when they are awake."

"I don't know how I've offended you to make you go through so much trouble to bring me here," she said coldly as she raised her eyes and looked at the man who sat in front of the desk.
