Choose a day to become famous

#719 - Notes on the Ending

I saw a video in which a blogger named "Cang Yiwei" mentioned "Select a Day to Become Famous" (I just noticed that he has recommended this book several times before, thank you!). He mentioned that the ending of "Select a Day to Become Famous" was a bit difficult to wrap up and rather lengthy (roughly speaking). Coincidentally, I saw that everyone has more or less raised similar issues recently.

I have thought about it carefully, and it may be because I said before that the book has entered the final stage, which caused everyone to misunderstand that the book is only a few dozen chapters away from being completed, but it has not been completed yet, which has not met everyone's expectations.

My original intention was to say that for a novel of nearly four million words, the story has come to an end, which can be roughly seen from the recent story content. However, it does not mean that it can be completed in a few dozen chapters, nor is it that I deliberately made it longer and more concise.

This book has been written in this style since the beginning, with a lot of dialogue between characters. There are indeed some lengthy parts, but this may be a style that I prefer. It doesn't seem right to write it this way. After all, the tone of the whole novel is like this.

I have learned my lesson and will no longer announce the conclusion of a novel before it is finished. This will indeed make everyone build up an expectation that “the story is about to end”, but in reality “the story is still constantly developing new branches”.

As for the story constantly branching out, the original intention was that I thought that at a certain point, this branch was a "situation that might occur in the entertainment industry" that had not appeared before, and I included it as a part of enriching this entertainment universe. But it will definitely not delay the content for more than three chapters, and I have been trying to prevent them from affecting my main storyline.

It can also be seen from my new book "The Sword of the Demon Hunter" that after writing "I Became the Scandal Heroine Overnight" and "Choose a Day to Become Famous", my ideas on the subject of entertainment have been exhausted, so I have an idea of "trying to make the world view of this story rich and substantial".

Regardless of whether I will write "The Demon-hunting Sword" as a long novel or write a long novel on another subject, I will most likely not write about entertainment themes. I have to change my thinking.

This is also the reason why I must start writing "The Demon Sword" at this time. I must maintain the feeling of writing "Famous on a New Day" by writing another completely different story. Otherwise, I will feel deeply tired as soon as I type on the keyboard.

I don’t know if you have ever encountered the same situation as me: every word I typed out felt like chewing wax. This is a situation that happened to me after I had been writing a story for a long time.

All in all, thank you for recommending this book to others. Thank you for following me until now and still giving me feedback. I want to emphasize that this story has indeed entered the final stage, but it cannot be concluded in a few dozen chapters. There are still so many holes to fill, and I can't run away hastily.

If you can, please help me take a look at the story of "The Demon-Catching Sword". I have already written about 80,000 words. Please give me your opinions, whether good or bad, so that I can judge whether to write it as a long novel or a short story of a few hundred thousand words after "Selecting a Day to Become Famous" is finished.

If you want a good review, please post it in the comment section on the homepage; if you want a bad review, please post a chapter review (of course, if you think the book is so bad that it is not worth others clicking in to read, then just ignore what I said).

Thanks, good night, see you tomorrow! (End of this chapter)
