Pei Zhen’s expression froze when he heard the word, but retorted quickly after a pause, “Huh, that’s the betrothal gift!”

Little Brat Pei was as arrogant as always.

Brows slightly raised, Pei Zhen’s long and narrow peach blossom eyes looked amorous. Noticing that, Fu Sichen’s mood wavered for a bit and felt a sudden urge to impose himself on the man.

That time around it was a man that Fu Sichen wouldn’t dare stop.

Pei Zhen looked away for a bit, feeling a little nervous. But the struggle was momentary, he gritted his teeth and picked up the phone.

“Hello, Dad.”

Pei Zhen tried to be calm, but his throat was dry, and he unconsciously tightened his fist. He was like a little boy shamed, stubborn yet nervously waiting to for punishment.

Fu Sichen took a step towards him and held his hand. Pei Zhen froze, his eyes met Fu Sichen’s gaze as he looked up. Then, he calmed down.

Silence. There wasn’t a sound coming from the other end of the line. Secretly taking in a deep breath, Pei Zhen asked, “Dad? What’s up?”

“You and Fu Sichen, you two…” His voice was shaking, Pei Zhen could tell over the phone. It was hard to guess at what he was feeling. “You two are actually… actually…”

Pei Zhen’s face was stiff. “You saw the report?”

“Of course! Did you think your mum and I are ancient idiots?!”

“Errr…” Ooops… that was an unwise move too early. Pei Zhen’s face turned a bright red. “I… I and Fu Sichen… we are serious about each other…”

“Of course you’re serious! If you weren’t and dared to be gallivanting with some wild man, I’d break your legs!” saying that, Xiao Long Nu continued on a different note, “Couldn’t you guys have been more mindful of your status? Now your agency is asking you to pay penalties? How much?!”

Thinking that he had misunderstood, Pei Zhen cautiously asked, “Dad, you… you’re not objecting Fu Sichen and I being together?”

“What’s so strange about two men being together?” Having understood what Pei Zhen was worried about, Xiao Long Nu was quite angry. “Did you think your mother and I were so ignorant? I’ve excavated more graves than the number of films you’ve made.”
