Dragon's Origin

#250 - You're Not Ready (Part 1)

“However, what I don’t allow you to do, you must… abso…lute…ly… not… do!” Wang Sheng emphasized each word of “absolutely not do,” almost syllable by syllable, stressing them heavily. Fearing they wouldn't take it seriously enough, Wang Sheng reiterated, “This is an iron rule. Violate it, and you bear the consequences!”

The ten people listened, none of them speaking, but Wang Sheng had already seen the thick, undisguised defiance in several pairs of eyes.

Wang Sheng didn't care about these gazes, nor did he want to. Those who were defiant would naturally have their time to suffer. You had to know that entering the Thousand Mass Grave to suffer basically meant stepping one foot into the coffin. Did Wang Sheng need to bother with people who already had one foot in the coffin?

“Butler!” Wang Sheng turned and called out to the old butler who was listening on the side, “Please pass this message to all the forces who want to enter the Thousand Mass Grave next time.”

The old butler nodded and responded, “Leave it to me!” Then he didn't say anything more.

“Second, I will try my best to ensure that those who cooperate can safely return alive.” Wang Sheng’s second rule was relatively less murderous and his tone was much gentler: “But I don’t guarantee that you can learn anything from it. You can look, you can listen, you can ponder on your own, but don’t come to me with questions. I will never answer. Also, after entering the Thousand Mass Grave, I won’t explain any matter or order. Take it or leave it!”

Although this seemed less strict compared to the first iron rule, smart people could glean a lot from it.

First, it was about those who ‘cooperate,’ and second, it was about ‘take it or leave it.’ These two phrases were actually worth pondering. What would happen to those who didn't cooperate? What would happen to those who didn't listen? Wang Sheng didn't state the outcome, but everyone wasn't stupid. Could they not guess the ending?

“For now, these are the only two rules.” Wang Sheng didn't like to waste words. After stating the two rules, he immediately gave everyone an order: “Now, you have five days to prepare. Five days later, in the morning, gather here. We will go to the area ten miles outside the inner city gate to adapt for five days. Ten days later, we will officially set off to enter the Thousand Mass Grave.”

After speaking, Wang Sheng was about to turn and leave. Suddenly, a voice rang out from behind Wang Sheng: “We are already prepared! We can set off now!”

Wang Sheng stopped the step he was about to take and turned back. What he saw wasn't just one person's defiant gaze, but the defiant gazes of all ten people in front of him. Wang Sheng didn't even need to ask who said it; if he asked anyone, they would probably admit it.

“Prepared?” A mocking smile appeared on Wang Sheng’s face. He scanned everyone’s expressions from left to right, snorted coldly, and then changed to a kind and amiable tone: “Believe me, you are not prepared at all! Now, go home or to the assassin hall, find those experienced old hunters, ask them what to prepare for entering the Thousand Mass Grave, prepare the items, learn how to use them, and come back after you've learned!”

“We are prepared!” One of the three women, the one who was dressed most flamboyantly and looked the youngest, repeated the words that someone had just said, and said to Wang Sheng with a provocative and slightly flirtatious tone.

Wang Sheng's gaze instantly fell on this woman, and he looked her up and down for a good while. The woman seemed very confident in her appearance and figure. Not only did she not feel shy or avoid his gaze, but she straightened her chest, showing off her assets, and proudly met Wang Sheng's gaze.

“Alright!” Wang Sheng finally put away the scrutinizing gaze that made the other two women feel disgusted, as if he were a pervert, and opened his mouth: “For the sake of a long-legged, big-breasted beauty, I will teach you a lesson today!”

Walking to the first expert on the left, Wang Sheng asked this male expert: “May I ask, what weapon did you bring?”

“My most handy five-foot long sword.” The male expert stretched out his hand and revealed his long sword. It was indeed a five-foot long sword. You couldn't see the blade, but looking at the sword guard and other parts, you could tell it was an excellent weapon.

“Anything else?” Wang Sheng asked.

“Nothing!” The male expert said proudly, sticking out his chest: “As long as I have a sword in hand, I can go anywhere in the world!”

Wang Sheng slapped his forehead, making a heartbroken expression as if he had been defeated by you. After a while, he raised his head and asked: “If you are in a place where there are no roads, surrounded by jungles and vines, and a monster is attacking you at this moment, how will your ‘five-foot’ long sword work?”

The word “five-foot” was specifically emphasized. Using a five-foot long weapon in a narrow place, either he was brain-dead, or he didn't have a brain.

The male expert was also a little dazed by Wang Sheng's words. He hadn't thought about how to answer for a moment. Should he say that he would use his sword to cut off all the vines, or use his spiritual energy to break them? In short, he wouldn't be without a solution.

“Oh right, there was a group of guys chasing me, claiming to be fifth-level masters, who were blocked by a few giant ape kings by the river. A group of people were holding their divine weapons and cutting down trees to make rafts.” Before he could answer this question, Wang Sheng had already opened his mouth: “That was wonderful!” He smacked his lips twice and asked with a smile: “Have you ever seen a giant ape king grab someone and bite off half of them?”

Even fifth-level masters were bitten off half of them, and the male expert was only at the peak of the fourth level. Even if he wanted to refute, he couldn't find a good reason for a while, so he could only remain silent.

“If you don’t want to use your ‘five-foot’ long sword to cut down trees when you don’t want to clear the way, then quickly prepare a mountain knife that is no more than two feet long.” Wang Sheng scolded the male expert: “Also, if you don’t want to use your ‘five-foot’ long sword to peel a fruit or cut some meat to eat, then bring a smaller knife.”

“Bring your long sword if you want, just don’t hinder the action.” After Wang Sheng finished speaking to this man, he barked at the other one who had introduced his weapon as a spear: “The one with the long weapon, do you know what to do?”

The one with the spear didn't wait for Wang Sheng to walk up to him, and gave a long “oh” sound, which was considered a sign that he had heard Wang Sheng's words.

The long-legged, big-breasted beauty was the second one. Wang Sheng walked up to her, looked down at her bright-colored dress, and the little bit of white skin exposed under the skirt, then raised his head and smiled at her, asking in a kind tone: “Beauty, do you know how Dai Wuji died? Want to know?”

Hearing Wang Sheng's question, all ten people's expressions changed, and even the people from the City Lord's Mansion in the distance pricked up their ears. The cause of Dai Wuji's death had always been blocked by the Dai family, and outsiders didn't know the reason at all, but everyone knew that Wang Sheng did it. Could it be that Wang Sheng would announce the answer now?
