Helan Fangnian’s panic spiked when he heard this. What was his mother up to now?

Yue Tingfeng remembered how Helan Fangnian had told him to leave. He stared at the poised, elegant figure of Mrs. Helan on top of the stage, his gaze livid. He would kill her if she really dared to raise a hand against his mother.

Everyone gave their attention to Mrs. Yue. Only she remained calm.

“Leave? We should stay,” Mrs. Yue said coolly. “I want to see what evil scheme she’s brewed this time.”

Mrs. Yue was so composed that Yan Qingsi calmed down immediately. “I’ll protect you.”

Yue Tingfeng quickly sent a text to Jiang Lai and Qu Jing. He turned the phone off. “Our fighting ability has been raised so much with you in our family,” he said, smiling. “Once, the Yue family’s fighting ability was like an old car; now it’s like a race car…”

Mrs. Yue patted Yan Qingsi’s hand, smiling, trying to make her feel at peace.

Only the erratic rhythm of footsteps rang out, drawing closer and closer.

Finally, they stopped right before Mrs. Yue. Then an affectionate voice rang out from behind, “Ningmei, I’m back!”

The sound of that voice nearly made Mrs. Yue vomit. It was a miracle that she could be so disgusted by a person.

Yue Tingfeng and Yan Qingsi turned their heads simultaneously at the voice. They saw Yue Pengcheng’s unembarrassed expression. He wore an expression of utter adoration towards Mrs. Yue as if this was the person he loved the most in the world.

That conniving face—it really made one wanted to spit out everything that one had eaten for the entire year.

“Congratulations, Mrs. Yue,” Helan Mingde said, smiling.

Helan Xiuse also stepped forward quickly, an innocent smile on her face. “Auntie Yue, congratulations to you for finally reuniting with Uncle Yue!”

A wave of cold swept over Helan Fangnian’s heart as he observed all this.

Mrs. Yue slowly drank her soda water. Yan Qingsi quietly reached for a knife on the table as she watched that shameless, deceitful face of Yue Pengcheng’s. She could not take it any longer—she wanted to murder that b*stard. Mrs. Yue stayed her hand.

The smile on Yue Tingfeng’s lips gradually hardened. He wanted to stand up but Mrs. Yue also held him down.

Everyone in the area looked at Mrs. Yue.

Everyone at the charity dinner was part of the rich and affluent families of Luo city. Almost everyone knew the scandal that had rocked the Yue family that year.
