From Hogwarts to Strixhaven
Chapter 11 On the train
Ivy didn't think he needed the sympathy of a child whose parents had both passed away and who had lived in his aunt's house for eleven years.
So he tried to change the subject: "You know? I'm actually a wizard from more than a hundred years ago."
Harry and Ron both widened their eyes when they heard his words, but soon they smiled, perhaps taking this truth as a joke.
"That sounds really cool!" Ron exclaimed, "So why do you want to go to school with us? Is it to relive campus life?"
"There is a reason for this." Ivy nodded in agreement.
"What about your beard?" Harry looked a little malicious, "Since you are over a hundred years old..."
"To be precise, I am one hundred and forty-four years old." Ivy continued to tell the truth, he liked to tell the truth, "Because of a terrible magical accident, I was sealed in the crystal and slept for more than a hundred years. Not only did my body not age, but it became younger."
"Wow! So cool!" Ron seemed to like this topic very much. It is possible that he will use Ivy's words in the next bragging, "What about magic? How is the magic of more than a hundred years ago different from now?"
"According to the first-year textbook, there is not much difference." Ivy shrugged, "But the magical accident that caused me to be sealed for more than a hundred years is because it has been several years. "Ancient magic that is almost lost."
"Ancient magic!" Ron nodded, leaning forward as far as possible, twisting his buttocks restlessly on the seat, "What can this...ancient magic do?"
"In short, it is extremely powerful and difficult to control." Ivy began to describe the characteristics of ancient magic, "It can summon lightning, cause earthquakes, and throw surprisingly large rocks like feathers.
"Show us your skills! Ivy!" Ron said, "Let us see the ancient magic you mentioned!"
"That's not a simple thing... I got up too early this morning, so I didn't have breakfast... And performing ancient magic is a very physically demanding activity, so..." Ivy put on a mischievous smile on his face.
"So, if we let you fill your stomach, you will show us your skills?" The smart Harry immediately heard the hidden meaning. Although he didn't quite believe in the ancient magic Ivy said, he had seen with his own eyes that Ivy's suitcase floated into the car with him. Therefore, he was quite willing to see other magic.
"That's right!" Ivy clapped her hands.
"But where are we going to get something to eat? I was too nervous because I had to catch the train, and I forgot about breakfast... and I'm hungry." Harry looked down at his stomach.
"I have sandwiches here!" Ron began to rummage through his luggage, and took out a paper box from a compartment, which contained four sandwiches. "My mother made it for me, canned corned beef sandwich... but she has to take care of five children, so it may be a little dry. If you don't mind..."
"Of course." Ivy reached out and took a piece, and Harry also took a piece.
"Hmm - it's delicious." Harry gave a fair evaluation. This was the first time he was shared food by others. It might be that this novel feeling added to the flavor of the canned corned beef sandwich.
Sharing food makes it twice as delicious, and the three of them were all teenagers (except for Ivy, who was 144 years old, but he looked much shorter than Ron, so they thought he was the same age), and they were ready to eat, so the four sandwiches were quickly devoured.
But someone's stomach was still growling.
It was almost noon, and the sound of wheels rolling over the ground was heard in the aisle.
A smiling woman pushed open the door of the compartment and asked, "Dear, do you want some snacks on the train?"
Harry jumped up at once, and now his pockets were full of gold galleons and silver Sickles taken from the Gringotts vault, and he couldn't wait to spend them.
"This time I'll treat you!" Harry shouted happily. The snacks on the trolley were all types he had never seen before, so he took a little of each and returned to his seat with a pile of things.
The piles of snacks almost flooded the table, but even so, Harry didn't spend even a single gold galleon, and these snacks only cost less than twelve silver Sickles.
"I haven't eaten snacks from the wizarding world yet!" In fact, Harry had hardly eaten snacks from Muggles, as his cousin Dudley would always snatch everything from his hands.
Because he had just shared his sandwich with Harry, Ron had no psychological pressure to eat the snacks Harry bought. He was busy putting pumpkin pie into his mouth with his left hand, and picked up a pot cake with his right hand.
"What is this?" Harry picked up a pack of chocolate frogs, "Are they real frogs?"
"Chocolate frogs, be careful when you open them, they might jump away." Ivy reminded, "They look not much different from the chocolate frogs from more than a hundred years ago. I just don't know if Honeydukes has added any other cards."
"Oh! It's Dumbledore." Harry had already pulled out a card that didn't exist more than a hundred years ago.
"You should know his name, right? After all, it's written on the admission letter." Although Ron didn't have much hope for Harry's lack of common sense in the wizarding world, he felt that Harry would at least know Dumbledore, "It is said that it is the largest stock of chocolate frog cards, because people say he is the greatest wizard of the 20th century."
A perfect post, a content, a book, a forum, a 6-9 book, a look!
"Very good, a card I haven't seen before suddenly appeared." Ivy raised his eyebrows and took the card from Harry, still maintaining his ancient magician persona.
"Hey! I remember you said you met Dumbledore!" Harry stuffed snacks into his mouth and suddenly remembered something, so he asked, "Does he look like the picture?"
"It's almost the same, maybe older." Ivy looked at the picture in his hand, and Dumbledore in it had left.
Ron stopped eating and looked at Ivy in surprise: "Why did you meet Dumbledore? Where did you meet him?"
"Of course it's Hogwarts, where else could it be?"
"But they don't allow young wizards who are not of school age to enter Hogwarts!" Ron felt even more strange.
"Remember? Ivy is an old wizard who lived to be 144 years old!" Harry answered Ivy's question for him.
"Indeed... it makes sense." Ron stopped dwelling on it and continued to eat the snacks on the table.
