From Hogwarts to Strixhaven

Chapter 5 Admission Letter

When Dumbledore and Snape realized that Ivy's original name for the grimoire was not "The Destruction of the Grimoire", it was too late.

They could not change Ivy's rock-hard mind.

After all, the greatest white wizard of the 20th century and the youngest dean of Slytherin had to face a middle school boy whose body was shrunk due to an ancient magic accident, and whose mind was also partially younger.

For such a self-conscious child, apart from "stubborn", it is difficult to find a second adjective to describe the energy they waste on handsome (especially self-proclaimed handsome) things.

Whether it is the child's own or the adults in the family.

Fortunately, the strange noise in the principal's office alarmed the three people present.

It was a "clicking" sound, like someone knocking on the table with nails, or like a sound made by placing some hard books on the table.

"What's making the noise?" Ivy looked around, and he suspected that it was the portrait of a principal who made the noise.

"Maybe it's some of my collection?" Dumbledore didn't seem to know what the sound was. "Of course, it could be Fawkes pecking at the door."

When he finished speaking, Fawkes, standing on the gilded branch, immediately chirped and spread his wings to blow out a blazing wind, as if trying to prove his innocence.

But before Dumbledore could comfort Fawkes, someone else came to visit the not-so-big headmaster's office.

The one who pushed the door in was a middle-aged witch with a high bun, wearing a dark green robe, and a serious and confident expression. Ivy matched her with Minerva McGonagall in her impression.

"Oh." Professor McGonagall raised her eyebrows, "I thought you were at Honeydukes again, Albus. It's great to see you here. As for the other two gentlemen, good afternoon."

When Professor McGonagall's eyes moved to Ivy, she couldn't help but ask: "Who is this gentleman...? I don't remember there being a Slytherin who looks so young in the school, Severus?"

"I'm Ivy Doom, hello..." Ivy greeted politely, and then cast an inquiring look at Dumbledore.

"Minerva McGonagall, the deputy headmaster of Hogwarts and my most capable assistant." Dumbledore introduced proudly, and then he turned to Professor McGonagall, "This is Ivydum, who was once a fifth-year student at Hogwarts."

"Once?" Professor McGonagall muttered, "I don't remember ever approving the expulsion of such a young Slytherin fifth-year student..."

Her stern eyes swept across everyone's face, and nodded at Ivy imperceptibly: "Okay, Albus, no matter what tricks you are playing, please make way now. I'm going to confirm the list on the admission book. It is said that Mr. Harry Potter has not received the admission letter from Hogwarts yet. I think it is necessary to let him know that he is a wizard on his birthday."

Snape stood up to make way for her, and Professor McGonagall climbed up an inconspicuous staircase in the headmaster's office without looking back.

According to Ivy's experience of wandering around the headmaster's office more than a hundred years ago, the staircase leads to a dusty tower, which contains only two things: the Book of Admission and the Pen of Acceptance. It is an important magic prop that determines who can come to Hogwarts to study. Once the name is recorded in the Book of Admission by the Pen of Acceptance, it means that some kind of mysterious contract has been established between Hogwarts and the little wizard. After that, as long as you wear the Sorting Hat at the Sorting Ceremony, it means that this magical castle has completely accepted you.

The facilities in the castle, including stairs and portraits, will bring you convenience, or tease you at the right time. The house elves working for Hogwarts will also regard you as the owner of the castle and provide you with necessary services, including transporting luggage, cleaning and preparing meals.

Therefore, for every little wizard who wants to enter Hogwarts, the Book of Admission and the Pen of Acceptance are extremely important props. However, I have not heard of any wizard who can change their decision and write the names of people who should not be admitted on it.

More than a hundred years ago, Ivy had picked up the Pen of Acceptance, but he couldn't use it to write on the Book of Admission. Because the faded feather pen was made of the feathers of a divination bird, it couldn't pick up any ink at all, and the ink bottle next to the Book of Admission was empty. Ivy didn't have time to study these two magic props carefully at the time, so he couldn't witness how they worked.

However, according to some readings in the restricted area, the ink flowing from the tip of the Pen of Acceptance is a liquid substance with a silver glow, but no one knows what the true face of the ink is.

Professor McGonagall disappeared on the stairs, and the headmaster's office returned to peace.

Ivy didn't know whether he should continue to discuss the previous topic, whether it was the "Destruction Grimoire", ancient magic, or something else...

And from Dumbledore's expression, it was unclear whether he meant to continue the topic.

Dumbledore suddenly tore off a piece of paper and finished writing it with a few strokes. He called Fawkes on the gilded branch, whispered a few words beside its head, and then released the golden red bird out of the window.

"Perhaps we should continue today's topic at another time. Since you were once a Slytherin, Severus will take you..." Dumbledore was interrupted by Professor McGonagall upstairs before he finished speaking.

"I can't believe my eyes, Dumbledore!" She looked a little angry for some reason, "There are still three little wizards who haven't received the acceptance letter!"

No mistake, one post, one content, one 6, one book, one bar!

"Mr. Ivy Doom?" Professor McGonagall asked loudly as she walked down the stairs. After Ivy answered hesitantly, "Yes", she continued, "This is your acceptance letter. After the sorting ceremony, it won't be too late for you to wear the shining Slytherin robes on your body."

When the voice fell completely, Professor McGonagall had come to Ivy and handed him a letter.

There was a wax seal on the envelope, and under the wax seal was a shield emblem, with a lion, an eagle, a badger and a snake around the capital "H".

"I'll help you solve one third of the problem. You should at least think about the remaining two thirds, Dumbledore?" Professor McGonagall didn't have time to notice the surprised expression on Ivy's face, and turned to Dumbledore.

Dumbledore had a smile on his face besides surprise: "I have asked Hagrid to handle Mr. Harry Potter's matter. As for the last little wizard who didn't receive the letter... Severus, please go there."

Snape reluctantly exhaled from his nose and took another letter from Professor McGonagall.
