Game of Thrones: Lord of Winter
Chapter 122 What happened?
The dark dungeon was messy and cold.
The door frame of the corridor was pushed open with a click.
The sound of armor and chains jingled.
Garlan lay in the pile of rags and looked sideways. In this dark place, there was nothing to do except sleeping.
Although there were wine, food and meat every day. From time to time, he could go out to the parade ground to get some fresh air.
Someone else came.
The armored guards escorted a tall man with his hands and body tied up.
The jailer led the way. He opened the cell next to Garlan, and the rusty iron door creaked. He heard the jailer say, "This is it."
The guard pushed the prisoner into the cell, and the man struggled twice and staggered in.
Garlan barely saw the new prisoner with the light of the torch in the guard's hand.
Wait until the jailer and guards left the black cell.
"Brienne Tarth." Garlan said faintly. "Why are you here?"
Brienne felt that the voice sounded familiar, so she walked to the iron bars and looked next door.
Seeing that she didn't reply for a long time, Garlan took the initiative to say, "I am Garlan Tyrell."
"Lord Garlan?" There was doubt in her tone.
"Is there another fight outside? Why did you get caught by them?"
Brienne told him about her own experience.
The two were in prison for only one day, and Garlan left the dungeon the next day.
Brienne didn't know where he went, but she guessed that the Tyrell family paid the ransom for him.
The sunlight outside the dungeon was particularly dazzling to Garlan, like a needle piercing his eyes. He frowned and his eyes narrowed into slits.
He followed the escorting guards, and the shackles on his body had been opened.
They walked to the seaside. Could it be that the family reached a compromise with Storm's End, and Julius agreed to let him go? Passing through the water gate, they went straight to the deck of a sea ship.
Garland saw the busy figures of sailors and some knights wearing armor and holding swords.
The soldiers sent him here and left. He saw Julius, who was dressed in dark blue, coming to greet him. People around him greeted him, and he nodded in response until he walked to Garland.
"Sir Garland, how are you these days?" He asked politely.
Garland wanted to tell him that he was about to mold in the dungeon, but he still smiled reluctantly, "My Lord Marquis, what is your intention in having someone bring me here?"
"We have to go to Dragonstone, sir. Go to see the king and your father, the Duke of Mace. I believe His Majesty Stannis will definitely entertain us warmly."
"Go to Dragonstone?" Garland looked at him puzzled.
A few days ago, he saw that Storm's End was in a state of war. He guessed that the army of King's Landing was coming, but when he walked out of the dungeon today, he found that the atmosphere here was extremely relaxed, and there was no sign of war at all.
Cole patted his arm and sighed, "I can only say that the war is coming, sir."
After saying something unclear, the white-haired boy left, leaving Garland guessing riddles.
When the ship set sail, he found that no one seemed to care about his identity here.
"Sir Tyrell." A knight greeted him.
Garland did not recognize this person. He rarely attended banquets and tournaments, so he knew limited people. But he recognized the emblem on the knight's armor, Dondarrion of Black Harbor.
"Hello, Sir." He returned the greeting to Dondarrion.
"I didn't expect you to be on the ship." Jafar Dondarrion said. Their family and Highgarden had some friendship in the history of working together to fight Dorne, so he took the initiative to come forward and talk.
Garland guessed the reason in his heart, and he was also a little worried.
They chatted for a while, and Jafar revealed some news to him. Brienne knew too little, but he admired the girl who avenged Renly single-handedly. Although this was a bit stupid, so was Garlan.
The cabin and deck were not big, and Garlan soon met Cole again.
The ship sailed for nearly two days and finally arrived at Dragonstone. Cole told Garlan a lot of things in the past two days. During the time he was imprisoned in the dungeon, the situation outside had changed dramatically.
Dragonstone was closer to the north. Although the waves in Blackwater Bay were not as fierce as those in Shipwreck Bay, the wind here was much colder.
Garlan's clothes were originally very thin, and Julius was not kind enough to send warmth to the prisoners in the prison. He had been wearing the inner shirt wrapped in the armor. When the storm came, rain would drip down in the dungeon of Storm's End, and he could only rely on the occasional sunny day to come out and bask in the sun.
A thin man greeted them at the dock. No, it should be said that he greeted Julius.
The heavy oak plank road connected to the port was connected from the deck, and the white-haired boy walked down first. He took off his gloves and shook hands with the thin middle-aged man.
Although he was temporarily free at sea, Garlan became a prisoner again after landing.
He was guarded by several soldiers and could only look at the island where Aegon the Conqueror was born. On a hill near the sea, Targaryen built a castle like a crawling black dragon, and some winding stairs shuttled between the dangerous cliffs.
Although these soldiers looked stern, they never made things difficult for him, and even asked for instructions in honorifics.
"Prime Minister." Cole said to the Onion Knight with a smile. He put on a clean set of clothes and finally looked like a decent knight.
"Sir, please don't tease me."
"If I call you by your name, the king will probably blame me for being impolite." He put his gloves back on. "By the way, did you receive the letter I sent?"
"The bird came yesterday, and Pylos read the letter to me. I didn't expect you to arrive so soon." Davos said to him.
"Thank the weather, sir."
They climbed up Dragonstone together, and the castle was on the mountain.
"What is the king's attitude towards the things on the other side of the narrow sea?" He asked as he walked.
The Onion Knight shook his head, "Your Majesty's health." He looked around and didn't continue. "You'd better listen to him in person."
A red dress blocked the way halfway. Melisandre's red robe fluttered in the wind, looking into the distance along the sky.
She looked back, and her soft face made many people's hearts flutter.
"My Lord Marquis, I have been waiting for you for a long time. Can I delay for a moment?" She walked down slowly.
Cole glanced at Davos. He knew that the Onion Knight had always been at odds with the witch, but there was no sound at this time.
"I have to go to see His Majesty the King first, ma'am."
"His Majesty is resting now and doesn't want to be disturbed." The knight of the rear party behind the witch said. Sir Axell Florent looked at Cole with a cold expression.
He glanced at Davos again and saw that he lowered his head slightly.
