Game of Thrones: Lord of Winter

Chapter 20: Meet Again

The dusk was heavy, and as the bright red sunset fell, the sky and the earth seemed to be drawn with a blue curtain. The night of Neck Marsh seemed to be surrounded by ghosts. There were graves all over the North, and the lonely ghosts in the fog seemed to blink all the time.

Cole had some more mud on his body. Riding a horse in the swamp was not a good choice, especially at night.

He led the horse carefully, and had to open the Eye of Time from time to time to find the way. If he left the road, he had to be careful of quicksand and swamps.

This is an absolute place of death. Venomous snakes, poisonous flowers and lizard lions, each of which may take your life.

Neck Marsh is the natural Great Wall of the North. As long as this pass is blocked, it can be said that one man can block the pass and ten thousand men cannot open it.

The damp miasma is very heavy at night. It is heard that there are marsh people living here, and they are nicknamed "mud men" by the seven countries, but Cole has been in Neck Marsh for two days, let alone houses, not even a ghost.

He dared not stop easily, fearing that the mud pit in the shallows would suddenly rise, or be attacked by the lizard lion lurking in the swamp.

Cole's mud was caused by the floating wood-like water monster. After leaving the farmhouse, Cole rode wildly all the way and plunged into the neck swamp where the twilight was thick. He did not run much all night until the morning mist dispersed the beams of the Tyndall effect, and he stopped his horse to rest.

At that time, he was about to step on a rotten wood block to scoop some water to wash his face and refresh himself, but he met Lao Liu, TNND, the lizard lion pounced on him as soon as he opened his mouth.

This dog thing did not follow the morals of martial arts, so Cole mercifully sent it to see the gods. The meat was very dry and was not recommended for consumption.

Now when Cole saw the floating wood, he felt that it was a lizard lion.

No wonder many people are unwilling to leave their homes for a lifetime. This world is wild and remote and dangerous.

Occasionally, he would stop to rest for a while when he was tired, but Cole would never dare to fall asleep. He had not slept well for a long time.

Suddenly, there was a fire, like a dark star emitting a dim light in the moonless night sky. It's fire, there are people!

Cole instantly swept away his tiredness and thought to himself, "Someone is there, should I go over?"

Most of the people who sleep in the wilderness at night should be like Cole, either hired knights, wandering warriors, or merchants.

Don't underestimate people's greed. Even Theon Greyjoy coveted his sword, let alone these people. Maybe the silver deer in the bag is enough for them to be greedy.

Winter Night is just a sharp-looking steel sword, with an ordinary hilt and decoration. I really don't know why Theon would take action for it. Can't Winterfell find a better-looking sword than this?

He forgot that there is actually a Valyrian steel sword "Ice" in the Wolf family.

"Maurice, didn't you hear clearly? Help your master suck out the poison." The voice is not small, and there is no fear of attracting the surrounding lizard lions.

Why does this voice sound familiar? !

Cole led the horse up, and it was fate that Tyrion was lying on a wooden stake, half-unzipping his pants to reveal a white patch.

He wanted to go south to catch up with them, but he thought that he had been delayed in Winterfell for a while, and Tyrion might have crossed the Neck and returned to the south with his servants. He might even be captured by Wolf's mistress Catelyn Stark and taken to the Eyrie.

Hearing the noise, Yoren and guard Jack stood up suddenly and looked over. They saw a black shadow stepping out of the mist, and Cole's face appeared in their pupils again.

"Little Cole? How could it be you?" Yoren asked in disbelief.

The little devil Tyrion also turned his head and was overjoyed when he saw Cole, but soon frowned again, "Oh, Morris, can you be a little gentler."

Cole gave a smile, but his eyes were a little complicated. "Long time no see, everyone."

He led the horse to the fire and tied the horse under a short tree.

"What happened?" Cole looked at Tyrion lying down.

He seemed to feel a little ashamed, but his mouth was not less majestic, "Damn, you told me to be careful of the she-wolf, but I almost died in the mouth of the she-snake."

"Your prediction is not accurate at all, Cole."

The corners of Cole's mouth twitched slightly. He thought he was unlucky enough, but who knew that Tyrion's face was even darker.

"Lord Cole, in fact, it is just a non-venomous water snake." Morris explained on the side.

"You know shit" Tyrion was very angry, "It's a poisonous snake. I saw it bite people to death when I was a child."

Morris shut up obediently, and then continued to help Tyrion suck the drug, but the position was a bit awkward, just under the thigh.

"I almost became a eunuch."

Cole chuckled twice.

"Did the Starks kick you out?" Tyrion said jokingly, "I told you that those guys only welcome the Night's Watch."

Seeing Cole's strange expression, Tyrion's eyes widened instantly, "Were you really kicked out?"

"Almost."

"Hahaha, I'm really curious about how you got those Starks who care about shitty honor to kick you out." Tyrion thought for a moment and asked again, "I remember they asked you to be a cook, right? Did you pee in their wine?"

"You should really be eaten by Jon's direwolf." Cole looked like he wanted to hit someone.

"A bastard dare not touch the queen's brother. Oh, Maurice, can't you be a little gentler! When we return to Casterly Rock, I'll have someone throw you into the women's branch to learn what gentleness is from those women."

The squire Morris looked very aggrieved. He was already light enough, but how could he suck the venom without effort? Besides, it was just a non-venomous water snake.

"I will take you to the Westerlands, where no one will dare to touch you as long as you say "Lannister". Tyrion vowed.

Cole thought for a moment, maybe it would be a good choice to join the Lannisters, although Tyrion was not liked by his father, Lord Tywin.

"My hire is not low, Lannister." Cole said jokingly.

"I can pay double." Tyrion raised two fingers.

Cole held out his hand, "Then it's a pleasure to work with you. I promised you that I won't be your squire."

"Oh, Cole. You are just like those greedy hedge knights."

"Who says not?" Cole took out the biography of the tall Sir Duncan from his arms and read a line: "Hedge knights are the purest knights. Other knights may be loyal to their lords or plan for their territories, but we speak from our hearts and stick to our beliefs."

Tyrion took the book, "I was wondering where this book went. It turned out to be with you."

"The Night's Watch is actually the purest knight, Cole." Yoren said on the side.

"A group of thieves and rapists violated knights." Tyrion continued his words.
