Green Monster Epic

#464 - New Neighbors

The lengthy negotiations couldn't be concluded in just a day or two. Fortunately, the Drow's team wasn't far from Green Lake Town, and a Legendary powerhouse could travel back and forth in a day.

However, it was tough on Druid Master Oscar, who had to travel between Green Lake and Blade Mountain every few days, bringing back the Drow's revised terms and Allen's concessions. It took more than half a month for the two sides to finally reach a consensus.

During this time, the horns of war sounded again from Nasir Fortress in the east. Under the strong demand of Regina, the chief priest of the Koryma City-State, the angry Drow Legion once again marched from Bonn City and launched a frenzied slaughter with Snow Midge and the Raven's Claw tribe, who were already prepared for battle, outside the city.

In the end, after losing more than half of their vanguard, the Wilderness Coalition decisively abandoned their position and retreated in an orderly manner towards Nasir Fortress. The large area of territory they had recovered was once again in the hands of the Drow.

However, Nasir Fortress quickly responded. Under the strong demands of the representatives of the major tribes of the Thorns Ring team, a new round of meetings, after fierce debate and compromise, decided to send troops north again, to resist the attacking Drow in the wilderness more than a hundred miles north of the fortress.

Allen's Green Field Tribe army received instructions from Chief Allen to withdraw from Nasir Fortress before the war began and return to the Green Field Plain, thus avoiding this厮杀决斗.

Allen was well aware that there was no need for their tribe to participate in this matter again. They had already done what they should do and fulfilled their obligations in the past two years.

"...Ted and his people will send a team over in a couple of days to sign the contract with you, so get ready!"

Oscar's originally bright eyes now showed a hint of bitterness when he looked directly at Allen. He had never realized when dealing with him before that this Gnoll, Allen, could be so stubborn and persistent. For this last condition, Oscar had racked his brains and exhausted his arguments, but he still couldn't change Allen's mind.

"...Don't worry, Master, I've been prepared for a long time. I've even had people clean up the settlement area I've chosen for them in advance."

Allen sat calmly opposite Oscar, smiling as he took out a detailed map of the Green Field Plain and pointed to a place on it to introduce it to Oscar.

"This place is called Gravel Beach, and it used to be occupied by a tribe of Ogres called the Lava Tribe, but now it's desolate."

"Next to the beach is a tributary of the Muddy Water Creek, so there's no problem with drinking water at all. Further east is the branch of the Cartol Mountains, so hunting resources are also available."

"..."

Soon, a Drow envoy team of a dozen people, led by Ted, appeared in front of the west gate of Green Lake Town. Looking at the orderly town, Ted and the others revealed complex emotions in their eyes.

If the only recognized civilizations in the Fayman World were the four major civilized nations located on two continents, then in the Underdark, including the Endless Abyss, the Drow were also instilled from an early age with the idea that they were a powerful civilized entity.

But when they saw this town existing in the wilderness, felt the vibrant atmosphere of this town, and saw the architectural planning far beyond this era, it seemed that their Underdark city-states seemed more like backward rural areas.

Around Green Lake, countless Goblin children cheered and waved unsharpened weapons tailored for them, doing basic combat training in a disciplined manner under the guidance of several Goblin teachers.

Extending outwards, in the aqueducts paved with bluestone, the gurgling stream water drawn from the Muddy Water Creek and Green Lake flowed slowly until it disappeared into the neat fields around. A gentle breeze caressed the newly eared Morning Light Wheat and Oats in the fields, rustling in the wind, the green waves stretching as far as the eye could see.

Even a dim figure in the team was greatly shaken at this moment. The body, which was originally constantly communicating with the Shadow Plane, suddenly revealed its original appearance from the Shadow Plane with the fluctuation of emotions. It was Kirill, the demigod of the Ranger Church.

The Green Field Plain's reputation in the wilderness is gradually growing, but there are still very few strong people who have actually been to this land. The plain is too remote, and there are not many resources worth exploiting. Without benefits, no one is willing to patronize it, which has ultimately contributed to the rise of the Green Field Tribe.

Kirill himself had never been to the Green Field Plain. Seeing this unique town at this time naturally made his eyes light up, and he understood to some extent why the Oak Council thought so highly of this Gnoll.

"Welcome, everyone, you've had a long journey!"

Allen, along with the older generation of Stoneborn and Treeborn tribe elders, as well as dozens of outstanding members of the new generation, stood formidably in front of the west gate, wearing exquisite armor, to welcome Ted and his people.

On the left were the young and strong Goblin warriors led by Terek, all of whom were level 15 high-level pinnacle existences, while on the right were Eric and his human companions, as well as several mixed-race companions, whose strength was also above the high-level, everyone full of energy and fighting spirit, their eyes sharp and full of fighting spirit.

"Chief Allen, we meet again."

Ted quickly regained his composure and turned to look at Allen, with a warm smile on his face.

"Thank you for agreeing to let my suffering people temporarily live in the Green Field Plain. From now on, we will all be neighbors."

"Let's talk about these polite words after we sign the contract."

Allen also smiled faintly, not too close but not too cold.

"At that time, I hope we can all get along peacefully."

"I believe we can all get along peacefully!"

Ted made a sincere promise.

At the top of the mountain in the town, Allen's stone castle now had a few more traces of weathering left behind, and some green plants climbed up the crevices on the stone walls, revealing vigorous vitality. In the square, there were sparsely populated Goblin warriors stripped naked, leaving only a coarse linen loincloth, leaping and jumping in the wide square, or simply in pairs, tearing at each other.

No adult Goblins put down their work because of the arrival of this group of Drow, but some young Goblin cubs occasionally ran over, looking curiously at this group of dark-skinned, handsome Drow.

The furnishings in the stone castle were as simple as ever, except for a few more potted green plants and flowers, the rest of the complicated and gorgeous objects were basically invisible.

In the spacious living room, servants had already prepared various snacks and refreshments to entertain the guests, while Lena, the original mistress of the stone castle, had left the castle first to play outside the town.

"...Confirm with both of you one last time whether you agree to allow your respective clansmen to study and live in the other's clan, with an annual quota of 100 people. During this period, the leaders of both sides must not hide their precious inheritances and knowledge, and the learners must not privately write or store the knowledge and inheritance of the other's clan..."

"...During the temporary residence of the Dark Elf clan in Gravel Beach, the Green Field Tribe shall provide the necessary basic materials and food at market prices, and shall not maliciously increase prices..."

In order to have more opportunities for the tribe's clansmen to come into contact with new knowledge and new inheritance, Allen gave up many material compensations in this long negotiation. In the eyes of some people, perhaps Allen's choice was very stupid, because he simply did not know how many knowledge books and inheritances from the surface world this team of Drow brought with them, and whether it was worth paying too much for it.

But in Allen's eyes, money and magical props were certainly attractive, but only knowledge and inheritance were the cornerstone of the tribe's strength.

"I have no problem."

"I represent the Dark Elves and recognize this contract."

"Very good, then you two can sign your names on this contract."

At Allen's level, magical contracts were no longer their first choice, because they did not want their souls to be targeted by the demons in the Endless Abyss, so this time they only used ordinary parchment.

However, with Legendary Druid Oscar of the Oak Council and Demigod Kirill of the Ranger Church witnessing and supervising from the sidelines, the binding force of the contract may not be weaker than that of a magical contract.

Oscar breathed a long sigh of relief only after Allen and Ted, the leaders representing the two medium-sized forces, had signed their full names on the last stroke of the tan parchment.

"Congratulations to you, you will be neighbors from now on, let's get along well!!"
