Green Monster Epic

#596 - Dazzling

The deep, dark chamber entrance stretched downwards, its depth unknown. Even at the speed of a legendary powerhouse like Alan, it took nearly half a magic hour to finally reach the end.

The Bonecleaver was held constantly in front, its wide blade acting as a sturdy shield – a slight advantage of heavy weaponry. Sporadic traps were triggered along the way, but the Bonecleaver easily deflected them. Other than that, no other surprises occurred.

Perhaps the numerous traps and mechanisms originally set up in this secret chamber passage, hidden for countless years, had mostly decayed over the long years. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been so easy for Alan to reach the final location of this secret chamber before him.

Why did he have this feeling?

The scene unfolding before Alan was simply too shocking. Even Alan, with his self-proclaimed strong heart, couldn't help but breathe rapidly.

Piles upon piles of golden coins, reaching heights of over ten meters, towered before Alan. Occasionally, strange glimmers emerged from the ocean of coins, reflections from precious jewels like rubies, sapphires, and starlight diamonds.

Next to the mountains of gold were huge oak boxes, stacked to form walls, enclosing the coins. At the top of the oak box walls, some of the boxes were open, revealing their contents: weapons covered in rust. Judging by the intricate carvings, still faintly visible on their surfaces, each piece must have been a priceless magical weapon in its prime!

Deep inside the secret chamber were dozens of obsidian altars, covered with countless inheritance crystals familiar to Alan, as well as seven or eight pieces of various equipment shimmering with faint magical energy.

The wealth Alan saw before him, without even a careful count, was definitely several times, perhaps even ten times, greater than the entire Green Field Tribe possessed.

Rumble!

The ground shook once more, and the stacked coins rattled as they shifted, falling from higher to lower points. Some even landed at Alan's feet, glittering dazzlingly.

Bending down, he picked up a gold coin from the ground, feeling its real, cold touch. Alan was overjoyed, but also troubled. With his power alone, there was no way he could carry away so much wealth. And if he gave up exploring the ruins this time, it might not be easy to enter this ruin again.

Wait, how did he enter this ruin this time?

Suddenly, a question popped into Alan's mind. He began to ponder, but the more he thought, the more confused he became. He was completely unaware of how he had entered this ruin before, as if that part of his memory had been erased.

Before Alan could delve into the problem, however, the vast underground space trembled violently. Cracks began to appear on the ceiling and walls, and countless gravel fell from above. At the same time, the intermittent tremors seemed to become more intense this time, with no sign of stopping.

The coins clattered and rolled down the gold mountains everywhere. The neatly stacked oak boxes were now teetering, on the verge of collapse.

Seeing this scene, Alan didn't have time to think about the problem. He wished he could split himself into several people. He immediately plunged into the tall piles of gold, frantically picking out the precious jewels.

Many of the food and sundries stored in his dimensional bag were discarded, and even many low-value equipment and materials were ruthlessly abandoned to make more room for more valuable jewels and coins.

Alan had only one thought in his mind: why didn't he bring more dimensional bags? That way, he wouldn't have to watch the enormous wealth before him without being able to take it away!

The dimensional bag was quickly filled, but the wealth before him showed no sign of decreasing. Gravel fell from the ceiling more and more frequently, and the ground shook more violently. Alan looked at the treasures on the ground with regret, and finally set his sights on the obsidian display stands in the innermost part of the secret chamber.

Buzz!

Alan quickly moved to the depths of the secret chamber, his large hand reaching directly for the nearest display stand. On the mirror-like surface of the obsidian stand stood a gorgeous, grass-green longbow. More than a dozen dazzling gems were inlaid on the bow, along with intricate and mysterious carvings. A slender, crystal-clear bowstring connected the two ends of the longbow, and occasionally a natural breeze would appear and disappear, surrounding the longbow. It was clear that it was no ordinary item.

However, to Alan's surprise, before his powerful hand could touch the longbow, it was blocked by an invisible protective force. Even if he exerted more strength, he could only squeeze in a few centimeters with difficulty.

"Eh!"

The obsidian display stand exuded a faint magical aura, indicating that the display stand itself was a rare magical item. After countless years of baptism, it could still exert a good effect, which shows its own grade.

Alan frowned, and soon made a decision. The Bonecleaver appeared in his hand again, and with a sweep, it brought up a strong wind pressure, slamming into the main part of the obsidian display stand.

Clang!

The tempered obsidian display stand made up for its fragility, so it easily withstood the Bonecleaver's fierce sweep, leaving only a shallow white mark at the point of impact.

"Hmph!"

Alan grunted, his hands bulged with veins, and the Bonecleaver was also raised high at the same time, then drew an arc behind Alan, turning into black lightning, resolutely falling again.

Clang!

Whether it was the tremor from the ground or the shock brought by Alan's full blow, there was a violent shaking on the ground, but when Alan looked up again at his target, the obsidian display stand, although leaving a deeper mark, still remained intact, with no sign of breaking.

Rumble!

Ding ding ding!

The ground shook desperately from side to side and up and down, and the coins rolled around in the secret chamber. The boxes stacked together finally did not escape the fate of collapsing too much. Countless dust with a decaying, old aura spread in the air, merging with the earthy dust in the cave.

Scanning the dozens of display stands, when Alan raised his hand again, the Bonecleaver in his hand had turned into a blazing fire sword, and with a three-wave mana method, collided with the obsidian display stand in front of him again.

With the change of his heart, the massive anger in Alan's body was now unconsciously converted into a higher form. Now, just a small amount of liquid anger infusion possessed the momentum and power that Alan used to show when gathering anger in the strongest furious state.

Boom!

This time, the Bonecleaver finally cut through the obsidian display stand in front of him, revealing the dozen layers of carvings and metal parts inside the display stand. At the same time, the longbow that was originally floating on the display stand also fell to the ground and was grabbed by Alan in his hand.

The rubble falling from above in the secret chamber of the cave grew larger and larger, and the cracks on the surrounding walls became increasingly wide. Allen knew that it wouldn't be long before this place would be completely buried. He looked longingly at the golden treasures scattered across the floor, and the dazzling and magnificent powerful equipment on the obsidian display stand. When Allen refocused, his eyes were filled with determination. With a final stomp, he quickly climbed back up the way he came, towards the tunnel.

The journey in had taken half a magic hour, but on the return trip, Allen gave it his all. Yet, it still took him even longer than before. The perilousness of the journey was such that he was almost knocked back to the ground by piles of falling rocks several times.

Fortunately, Allen's strength was sufficient. He endured the pain and impact of countless falling rocks, managing to escape before the vertical tunnel was blocked and collapsed.

The temple above ground was also unsafe. The main structure of the ancient temple was now teetering. The colorful glazed tiles on the dome were the first to be damaged, falling to the ground and shattering into countless tiny particles. Cracks also appeared in the off-white marble pillars, spreading into countless dust.

Rumble!

Thump!!!

The collapse of the secret chamber's tunnel finally occurred, but it was only a few minutes after Allen had climbed out. The heavy throne next to the tunnel tilted and fell, landing right in the position of the collapsed pit. Seeing this scene, Allen couldn't help but feel a sense of lingering fear. If he had been blinded by the treasures in the chamber, he would probably have become a lonely ghost buried underground, never to see the sun again.

Not only was the temple collapsing, but the shaking from the depths of the earth was even more violent. The undulation of the ground was so great that Allen was forced to use the levitation ability of a legendary powerhouse. Huge cracks bloomed on the ground, constantly extending, tearing, and dividing the area into countless sections. As the cracks continued to expand, many areas were simply swallowed by the abyss created by the tearing, forming bottomless black holes.

Seeing the temple collapse, and the throne made entirely of gold also showing signs of being swallowed by the abyss, Allen gritted his teeth, grabbed a corner of the throne, and did his best to drag it into the void, while also dodging the boulders falling from the surrounding ruins of the temple.

Boom!!! Rumble!!!

The massive mountain collapsed before Allen's eyes. The white mist that enveloped the peak also slowly drifted away into the distance with this earthquake. When the white mist and yellow dust gradually dissipated, the hobgoblin, his face covered in veins and his forehead dripping with sweat, slowly descended towards the doomsday-like ground, dragging the heavy throne.

The throne, made entirely of gold, was far heavier than Allen had imagined. Although it looked to be just over two meters in diameter, and had many openwork designs, its actual weight exceeded 100,000 pounds. Such a huge weight, held in the void for a long time, was truly overwhelming, even for someone as strong as Allen.

The earth was hideous and terrifying, with huge ravines filled with countless rubble, extending towards the distant and desolate wilderness. The main body of the mountain had disappeared silently, as if it had never existed. And along with it, the magnificent temple that originally belonged to the Goddess Mansa had also vanished. Now, apart from the golden throne that Allen was dragging, it would probably be difficult to find any evidence of its existence.

The sky was also tearing apart. The azure blue sky was covered with black lightning, revealing the true face of the boundless starry sky after space was torn apart. Clouds were swallowed before Allen's eyes, and the air in the ruins was rapidly leaking, flowing into the endless starry sky through the torn spatial cracks.

Allen's expression became solemn. It was clear that the space of this ruin was collapsing. If he couldn't find a way out before the ruin completely collapsed, then he would likely drift in the endless starry sky along with this ruin.

Of course, before that, Allen would probably already be dead. No matter how powerful a legend was, he hadn't yet escaped the characteristics of a Feyman creature. He still needed to breathe and absorb energy...

Whoosh!!!

With a release of his large hands, the throne that Allen had held for a long time fell rapidly towards the ground with a whistling sound. In this situation, Allen was not blinded by greed, and simply and decisively abandoned this wealth that was seriously hindering him.

Boom!!!

The heavy throne landed on the ground, making a dull thud. However, for Allen, who had already made a decision, the discarded throne was no longer worth a second glance.

At this moment, so-called wealth was useless in the face of a life-and-death crisis.

Having gotten rid of the burden, Allen's speed increased to the extreme, trying to retrace his steps in the direction he had come from, as that direction had the highest probability of having an exit.

However, when he looked around to find landmarks and directions, he couldn't help but be stunned. The huge ravines crisscrossing the ground, the undulating and fractured hills, where were the landmarks he had memorized?

As for the so-called direction, in the dim and gloomy sky at this time, apart from the unknown blue light everywhere, where could he see the sun and stars?

Come to think of it, it seemed that he had never seen the sunrise or sunset since entering this ruin!

Black lightning began to spread across the sky. Occasionally, grass and leaves swept up from the ground by the strong wind would be silently cut into several pieces, or even crushed into powder, upon touching these black lightning.

Allen needed to be very careful, dodging the rampant black lightning while searching for possible passages around him. The situation was extremely critical.

The air in the sky was obviously decreasing. This could be judged from the fact that the resistance he encountered during flight had decreased by several percent. Moreover, Allen clearly felt that the height of the sky was shrinking, because the black lightning in the high altitude was as dense as a spider web, constantly reaching down, compressing Allen's space for movement.

The ravines beneath him also began to deform. The earth was making a roaring and rubbing sound after being squeezed, which brought about the tearing of the ground.

After searching for a long time, he didn't find any trace of an escape route. Only the increasingly dangerous natural environment remained. Allen was now somewhat desperate. He never thought that this adventure would ultimately lead him into a dead end. If he had known this, perhaps he wouldn't have participated in it.

However, there was no regret medicine for many things. Allen didn't have the ability to predict the future. Since things had developed to this point, he only felt a slight annoyance in his heart for a few seconds, and then he cheered up again and made a decision in his heart.

Since he couldn't find a way out, then he would create one himself. For so many years, Allen had long been accustomed to relying on his own strength and calculations to control his destiny in his own hands!

The Bone Cleaver suddenly appeared in his hand, and raging energy flames quickly spread across the sword. Allen's entire person suddenly became taller and stronger, his eyes solemn and firm, staring straight at the spatial rift that had just been torn apart in front of him.

"Ha!!!"

The strongest Open Sky Strike was launched swiftly and decisively. The raging flames carried Allen and slammed into the oscillating and distorted space in front of him.
