Chapter 861: The Hidden Army

It wasn't hard to guess the purpose of Master Oscar's visit. He was simply representing the Temple and pressuring Allen to organize manpower to support the Drow as soon as possible.

The Oakwood Encampment had always had strong opinions about the Drow establishing themselves in the wilderness, but now, with the elven invasion, they were finally forced to reluctantly accept them under the threat of shared destruction.

Allen didn't directly answer Oscar's question, but instead invited him to fly towards the direction of Aolei Town together.

Seeing the thick smoke billowing and lingering over Aolei Town from afar, Oscar's brow furrowed, but he still suppressed his displeasure and coldly surveyed the scarred land from the sky.

As the production base for the Green Field Tribe's metal armor, weapons, and daily tools, the furnaces of Aolei Town had never been extinguished. The surrounding mines that could be found had been almost completely exhausted. Besides the large reserves of coal and iron ore, it was difficult to find other exploitable mines.

The destruction of nature caused by mining was self-evident. In the eyes of people like Oscar, it was definitely the root of all evil, but they also clearly understood that if the wilderness tribes wanted to develop and grow stronger, this kind of place was impossible to eliminate.

Allen's focus was different from Oscar's. He was more concerned with the rows of trucks parked in the town, some loaded with packages and boxes, and others empty.

The sound of hammers striking metal on anvils echoed through the sky. The dwarf artisan team promised had not yet arrived, but the two sets of standardized equipment blueprints they had promised had already been handed over to Olenzi and the others, and finally made their way to Aolei Town.

One of the two standardized equipment sets was designed to enhance defense and endurance, suitable for Shield Warrior classes, while the other was designed to increase strength, suitable for Berserkers, Strongmen, and other melee classes. The two sets of blueprints basically met the needs of the tribe.

To this end, the blacksmith masters of Aolei Town were currently working hard to learn the forging techniques of the two sets of equipment, and were working day and night to produce the two standardized sets in order to re-equip the Thorns Legion.

The materials allocated to the Thorns Ring in the southern human battlefield, the metal stockpiled by various member tribes, and the artisans were all gathered in Aolei Town, benefiting from the Green Field's light to learn the forging methods of these two sets of standardized armor. Therefore, Aolei Town was now overcrowded, and nearly a thousand sets of armor could be forged every day.

Allen still didn't linger as he passed through Aolei Town, and continued to lead Oscar south. The elven master, with a few strands of grey hair, wanted to ask several times, but swallowed the words back down each time.

It wasn't until they crossed a lush forest and arrived at a remote and hidden basin, seeing the endless tents and the tens of thousands of soldiers training hard under the scorching sun, that Oscar's worries and doubts were dispelled.

"Chieftain!"

"Master!"

Arbard, Shilan, and other experts sensed the approaching aura of a strong person from afar and came to greet them.

"You've worked hard."

"How is the army's training going?"

"The basic military formation transformations, coordination, and other tactical cooperation are no longer a problem, but it's hard to say how much effect they can have in actual combat."

"However, the overall quality of this batch of soldiers is good. Most of them are above level 7, and nearly one-tenth of them are advanced warriors. Based on their long-term experience in adventure teams, we have strengthened the training of small-scale team combat on the basis of military formation collaboration, which may be in the future…"

Arbard eloquently described his vision and plans for this army to Allen, and a rare look of excitement appeared in his eyes.

Although Allen didn't quite understand the military and tactical aspects, it didn't prevent him from listening with great interest as Arbard pointed to the constantly moving and changing army on the ground and explained the principles to him.

The elven druid master's face relaxed, and he was obviously very satisfied with the army that appeared in the remote valley. There was no need for Allen to explain anything further; the scene before him was enough to prove the North's true attitude.

"How many troops do you have here?"

After observing for a while, Oscar finally asked the specific question.

"There are currently 75,300 soldiers here, including the largest infantry corps, with a scale of 48,800 people, and an archer corps of 12,000…"

Arbard looked at Allen, and after receiving his tacit consent, he began to introduce the situation of this army to Oscar.

In order to cover their tracks, the warriors promised by the Raven's Claw and Snow Mist tribes, as well as the 30,000 permanent coalition soldiers, were all stationed at Nasir Fortress, which could give the elves the illusion that the Thorns Ring had begun to plan for preventing the invasion, but the troops were only enough to guard Nasir Fortress.

"When is your army going to depart north?"

After listening to Arbard's introduction, Oscar was both satisfied with the Thorns Ring's preparations and also felt a sense of urgency, and continued to question Allen.

"According to the information we have collected, the elven army will launch a general offensive against the Drow Federation in at most half a month."

"Based on the strength comparison between the two sides, it is highly likely that the main force of the Drow at Cold Wind Ridge will not be able to hold the city, and the losses may be significant."

"If the Drow army is defeated, then the difficulty of defending the Northern Territory will also increase. Although the city defenses of Catoer Canyon Fortress are far stronger than those of Cold Wind Ridge, it is not certain that you can do better than the Drow in resisting the elven army."

"Then I would like to ask Master, even if my Northern Territory sends troops now to deal with the main force of the elves together with the Drow, what would be the best outcome?"

Allen turned his head and looked at Oscar sincerely, asking a question in return.

"This…"

Oscar hesitated, not knowing how to answer for a moment.

"Let me say it."

Allen smiled frankly. This elven master was still too kind, hoping that he would send troops but unable to lie.

"Even with the addition of our Northern Territory army, unless we joined forces with the Drow when the elven vanguard first arrived and wiped them out, or at least severely damaged their main force, the elven army after joining forces with subsequent reinforcements would be enough to confront the combined army of our two sides head-on."

"The alliance's reinforcements will take at least half a year to arrive. During this time, my Northern Territory will face the elven army and their continuous reinforcements together with the Drow."

"How many brave warriors do you think my Northern Territory tribes can afford to sacrifice?"

"As the leader of the Northern Territory, I have a responsibility to consider the interests of these brave warriors and the tribal leaders who trust me, and to join forces with the Drow on the premise of maximizing the benefits of the Thorns Ring."

“It's not that I don't want to send troops, but the time for us to send troops hasn't arrived yet. However, I also guarantee to you, Master, that when the time comes to send troops, my Northland warriors will definitely not delay or be stingy with their lives!”

“.”

Oscar hesitated, the words of persuasion reaching his lips, only to be swallowed back down. Allen's sincere attitude and clear understanding of reality made him unsure of what else he could say to change Allen's mind.

“Alas!”

“Then can you give me a rough estimate of when you will send troops? That way, I can give Mistress Pennylane and the others an explanation.”

After a long sigh, Oscar reluctantly made his lowest request.

“I'm very sorry, Master, but the timing of sending troops is not up to us, but rather depends on the actions of the Drow Matrons themselves.”

Allen smiled slightly, his eyes wise and profound.

“You can convey our current situation and my words to Mistress Pennylane and the others. I believe they should understand what I want to say.”

Now is the time to reveal something to the Drow, lest they think the Northland is really watching with cold eyes and lose heart.

Although the Thorns' Ring has always maintained a distance from the Drow, in Allen's view, the existence of the Drow itself is the Northland's first strong line of defense, and also a powerful aid to the Northland when the elves turn to the wilderness in the future. Naturally, their wings cannot be broken at this time.

“But please remind them to keep this information confidential!”

“I'm not a fool, and neither are they!”

A heavy weight in Oscar's heart finally lifted by half. After seeing the Northland's assembled coalition with his own eyes, he no longer doubted the Green Field and other tribes' decision to resist.

Oscar quickly left, but Allen continued to linger here, telling Alvard and the others about the situation of the elven army that he had observed and analyzed, while waiting for them to report their marching plan to him.

Allen ultimately told Oscar a benevolent lie. His visit to Alvard this time was actually to urge them to go north, just as Oscar and the Drow who asked Oscar to put pressure on them were worried that the Drow would be unable to withstand the elven army, Allen and the high-ranking members of the Thorns' Ring also held a pessimistic attitude towards the final battle between the elves and the Drow.

Therefore, the urgency of sending troops was felt not only by Oscar and the Drow who asked Oscar to exert pressure, but also by Allen and his people. However, they could never show it to outsiders.

“Now, does our army have the strength to fight?”

“As long as the timing is right, I am confident that I can give the elves a hard time in the first battle!”

“However, the situation on the battlefield is unpredictable. Our legion is indeed weaker than the elven army in overall strength. Even if we achieve a surprising effect, the final result still depends on the Drow army!”

“Mm!”

Allen did not deny the gap between their armies, nodding: “However, you must also speed up your training. You must go north in half a month at most. By then, it should be the time for the elves and the Drow to start a full-scale decisive battle.”

“You must also plan the route to the north in advance. The purpose of our legion's secrecy is to catch the elves off guard, so as to offset the large gap in strength between us.”

“Understood!”

“In two days, the first batch of standardized armor from Auro Town will be delivered. You should find someone to prepare for the handover, and prioritize arming the elite warriors. Don't overly consider the interests of my Green Field native warriors!”

“After all, this is the first time we have assembled a large army to fight. We must be as fair and just as possible, and not allow members of other tribes to have grievances because of some trivial matters.”

“Understood.”

Allen had done everything he could think of to help the tribe and the team. Next, it was up to them. Allen, who was always a busybody, supervised and inspected the army again. Seeing the sea of people composed of spirited and agile Northland lads surging under his feet, his heart was somewhat turbulent.

These are not only the outstanding warriors of the various tribes in the Northland, but also an important cornerstone of Allen's vision for the future map of the Northland, and the fruit of his long-planned efforts.

Regardless of the final outcome of this war, the Thorns' Ring will begin to move towards cooperation and integration. Even if the leaders of the various tribes struggle and resist, the general trend of integration has already begun and cannot be reversed.

The more he thought about it, the more invigorated he became. Infected by his mood, his powerful will transformed into a breeze, spreading around him.

The breeze swept across the lush green branches, causing them to rustle and sway; the breeze blew across the ground, and suddenly, the chirping of insects came from the empty land.

The ubiquitous natural energy, attracted by Allen's overflowing spirit, lingered around his body, echoing the circulation route of the anger in Allen's body, pushing away the air blocking his path. Unconsciously, Allen's flying speed was two levels faster than usual.

“Eh?”

When Auro Town, with its billowing smoke, appeared in front of him, Allen regained his senses, and at the same time, he felt something was wrong, but after a self-examination, he could not find any clues.

After failing to find anything wrong, Allen did not continue to waste time, and plunged towards the ground.

“Chieftain!”

The town chief of Auro Town was a strong earth gnome named Felo, and another gray dwarf vice town chief, Caesar. Several subordinates followed behind them, cautiously greeting him.

“Mm!”

Allen had only a few dealings with these new generation of managers, and many of them knew him, but he did not know these younger generations.

“How much of the equipment made in the town is ready? Are the materials and fuel still sufficient?”

“Reporting to the Chieftain, so far, we have made a total of 5,300 sets of defense armor and 13,200 sets of strength armor.”

“The materials and fuel are sufficient, but there are not enough blacksmiths. Our tribe has a professional blacksmith town, and there are many blacksmiths, but there are too few blacksmiths from other tribes, and there is no way to create more equipment in a short time.”

“That is your problem. If you don't have enough manpower, go to Orenzi. I only want to see results.”

“There is still half a month left. I want to see the remaining 30,000 sets of equipment.”

“. Chieftain . ”

Felo originally wanted to argue, but when he saw Allen's majestic eyes, he no longer had the confidence to argue.

“Yes! We will definitely overcome the difficulties!”

The gray dwarf named Caesar interjected in time, nodding repeatedly in agreement.

Allen casually glanced at the clever gray dwarf, his dissatisfied expression eased a little, nodded, and continued to walk into the town. Felo and Caesar hurriedly followed, not daring to be negligent in the slightest.
