The show director didn’t respond. Director Li said with an unhappy tone, “I think we should stick with the plan. Don’t always make changes. Our Liuxi is a handsome boy so the audience won’t care if he’s good at singing or not. Seeing his face will be enough. If you really think he’s singing is not good enough, just let him dance.”

On hearing that, Yan Su wanted to laugh. Director Li was turning more and more like Mo Liuxi.

The director thought for a moment and said, “Let him dance then. Yan Su will sing alone. I’ll find him a dancing teacher. It might be a little difficult, though.”

Mo Liuxi frowned, thought for a moment, then nodded. Soon later, Mo Liuxi was guided to another room to learn how to dance.

Yan Su went to see him after the rehearsal. He was learning to dance with clumsy moves. His body was stiff and robotic, and that made the dancing teacher shake his head.

“You guys go home.” Director Li sighed. “I think it’ll at least take him a day. I don’t get it. Why wouldn’t he sing together with Yang Ziqian? And why did he refuse to do the lip-synching? He’s not a professional singer. Even if people found out about it, they wouldn’t say anything.”

Cheng Sheng and Yang Zixian both raised their eyebrows and glanced at Yan Su knowingly.

“Eh-hem.” Director Li coughed. “There’s no need to wait.”

The others had work to do, including Yan Su. She said goodbye to Mo Liuxi and left. When she got home at 10:00 p.m., Mo Liuxi was still not there.

She called him and heard music through the phone. “Are you still practicing?”

“Yeah.” Mo Liuxi gasped. “Don’t wait up. I won’t be back until about midnight.”

How could Yan Su possibly sleep? After all, Mo Liuxi worked so hard because he wanted to perform together with her.

At midnight, she sat on the couch and heard a noise from next door. He didn’t come to her side.

She waited for a while, yet, he didn’t come.

She couldn’t describe how she felt. She was not a slow-minded person. Girls were always more sensitive than guys. Recently, she and Mo Liuxi made peace, but still, they didn’t feel right. They weren’t as close to each other as they used to be. Before, Mo Liuxi would come straight to her place and try everything to stay in her room for the night.

She hesitated briefly, then stood up to knock on his door.

The door wasn’t answered immediately. Before she turned and left, it was opened. Mo Liuxi’s hair was moist, and his upper body was bare. He was wearing thin pajama pants. Obviously, he put the pants on in haste, because they were worn inside out.

“Why are you still up?” Mo Liuxi raised his eyebrows with surprise.

Yan Su lowered her head awkwardly and said, “How’s the dancing going?”

“Fine.” Mo Liuxi murmured. He was a little frustrated.

He was a proud person, but recently he also got frustrated. He couldn’t sing well and couldn’t dance well either. The dancing teacher criticized him for his robotic moves.

Yan Su noticed the look on his face. She could tell how he felt because she used to learn dancing when she was little. For people who never learned how to dance, it could be very hard. For the gifted dancers, learning a new movement might only take a few hours. However, he spent a whole afternoon and a whole evening. It proved one thing—he was not good at dancing.

“Liuxi, the director is right. You’re not a star, so you don’t need to be a professional dancer or singer…” said Yan Su with hesitation. “You don’t need to compare yourself with Shi Xiang. In my eyes, you’re better than him.”

There was something that he didn’t speak out loud, but that didn’t mean she doesn’t understand how he felt.

Mo Liuxi blinked, then pulled her straight into his arms and said, “Aren’t you coaxing me?”
