Growing Fond of You, Mr Nian

Yan Su was shocked.

A minute ago, she learned she had a little brother. A few seconds ago, she met him.

She lowered her head to look at the little boy. He took after his mother. She looked more like her father.

God. She was expecting to meet her son, but now she learned she had such a young brother. Her parents were quite vigorous.

“Sister…” the little boy called her again. “I’ve seen you. Mom always looks at you on her phone. She said you’re my sister.”

“Yes, I am your sister.” Yan Su squatted, unsure whether to laugh or cry. Anyway, her little brother was a real cutie-pie.

“Tell me, little man, what’s your name?”

“Yan Jin,” he answered. “My name means ‘cautious.’ Daddy said I have to be cautious, not like my sister. She was lured away by a man.”

“Jin, where are you?” A middle-aged couple walked over from the courtyard.

“Mom, my sister came home.” Yan Jin held Yan Su’s hand and ran toward his parents.

Jiang Peiying and Yan Lv stopped short when they saw Yan Su. After a brief pause, Yan Lv said harshly to his daughter, “What are you doing here? You grew up and learned to run away from home. You already left. You shouldn’t have come back.”

“Mom, Dad, I’m sorry.” Hearing a familiar scolding from her father, Yan Su couldn’t help but let the tears flow. She took a step forward, knelt on the ground and said, “I made a mistake. I didn’t know what was right.”

“I’m surprised you are aware of that.” Yan Lv was so angry his face reddened. “I told you not to be with She Xiang, but you wouldn’t listen. You thought I was trying to tear you two apart, so you left us and ran off to be with him. How on earth did our family raise a daughter like you? How could you do that to us,” he yelled.

Yan Jin heard his father raising his voice and gave a start. He clutched Yan Lv’s hand tightly and said, “Daddy, please don’t be mad at my sister. Don’t you ask yourself why isn’t my sister coming home yet?”

“Shush up. Go away.” Yan Lv felt embarrassed.

“No, I’m not going away.” Yan Jin shook his little butt.

Seeing that, Yan Su was flooded by emotions. Her little brother whom she had never met before was trying to help her. Such was the power of blood.

“Dad, I wanted to come home not long after I left. I was always homesick. But… I was too young to persuade myself to come home. You didn’t like Shi Xiang, so I told myself I’d come home with him after he became a star. I wanted to prove it to you that I was right about him…”

“But, Shi Xiang became a star long ago, didn’t he? So why isn’t he with you now?” Yan Lv asked. “You worked so hard in bars to pay for your education, because of him. Isn’t it about time he married you?”

“Dad, how did you know…” Yan Su paused with a surprised look on her face. “Have you been watching me all this time?”

Yan Lv shot her a sympathetic glance. Jiang Peiying, her mother, said helplessly, “You are a girl, out there alone. How could your father not worry about you? Fortunately, you were able to build some fame. Now you’ve finally come home. You’ve done for much for Shi Xiang. It’s time for you two to get married, right?”

“We broke up,” Yan Su dropped her head and said.

“What?” Yan Lv was livid. “Didn’t the paparazzi find you two spending a night together out there alone? B*stard. He wasted so many years of yours and then abandoned you? Does he think that our family is a pushover?”
