“I have one now.” Mo Liuxi explained, “My parents divorced when they were much younger due to a misunderstanding. My mother brought me overseas after that, and when we came back, they got back together again. You must know my father, Xu Zhengxuan from An City. His court case made the headlines everywhere—he was wrongfully sent to prison.”

“Oh, so you are Xu Zhengxuan’s son.” Yan Lv wasn’t as harsh on him anymore.

They all hated Xu Zhengxuan in the past, but after he cleared his name, they realized that everything was a misunderstanding.

Xu Zhengxuan was a principal involved in the art scene. The Xu family was also well known as educators.

“Yes, that’s right.” Mo Liuxi noticed that Yan Lv’s expression had changed so he quickly added, “My father is a professor in Xia City now.”

It was obvious that Yan Lv had a good impression of Xu Zhengxuan.

“Your father went through a lot. Back in the day, he was the principal at the academy,” Yan Lu remarked.

“Yeah.” Mo Liuxi nodded his head. “Thank goodness my dad is a simple man who’s easily satisfied. Although his position is a little lower now, he is happy with the current state of things, given how much he had gone through. He is happy that our family has reunited and we’re all happy and healthy together. He still doesn’t know about Yan Su’s child—he only knows that I’ve found a girlfriend. He did ask me to bring her home so that we can get married but I thought it would be better to ask for your permission first.”

Jiang Peiying was relieved to know that his family seemed to be okay with everything and that Mo Liuxi was treating them with a lot of respect. She said, “Sounds like you are planning to get married this year…”

“I wish I could marry her right now, but of course I will need your blessing and Susu’s consent. Honestly, I don’t want to wait too long ’cause I’m afraid of losing Susu,” said Mo Liuxi as he looked at Yan Su lovingly.

Yan Su was speechless.

She had goosebumps all over.

Jiang Peiying looked at her daughter and noticed that she wasn’t moved at all. She thought that her daughter must be heartless… either that or she was still not completely over Shi Xiang.

She felt sympathetic towards Mo Liuxi.

It is humbling to love someone unconditionally.

“Well, no matter what, you are still Yan Yan’s father. It’s freezing cold outside, come on in,” Jiang Peiying said.

Yan Lv nodded his head and grunted, “Come on in.”

Mo Liuxi walked inside with all his luggage. When Yan Su tried to help, he said, “I’ll do the heavy lifting. Go in and get warm, don’t catch a cold out here.”

Yan Su let him be since he was so eager to showoff.

Yan Jin walked over to Mo Liuxi and gave him a big thumbs up, “Xixi, your boot-licking skills are amazing.”

He waddled off after that.

Mo Liuxi tried his best not to kick his *ss.

When he was done bringing in all the luggage, an old lady was sitting in the living room. She looked like she was in her eighties and Yan Su introduced him to her, “Granny, this is my boyfriend, Mo Liuxi.”

“Oh.” The old lady squinted her eyes to look at Mo Liuxi, “He looks like a good looking fella. When did you get a divorce?”

Mo Liuxi kept quiet.

Yan Su explained, “My grandma is getting old so she gets a little confused sometimes. She always mistakes me for my cousin.”

She turned and explained to her grandmother, “I am Susu!”

“Oh, Susu, didn’t you elope with a man?” Granny Yan smiled and held her hands, “You’re home now? Is this Shi Xiang whom your father has talked about?”

Mo Liuxi’s awkward silence intensified.

He had a feeling that he wouldn’t have a pleasant conversation with Granny Yan.
