Harry doesn't want to be a wizard, he just wants to be a superhero
#98 - In the same room!
Ron looked at Harry and Hermione with envy. He had to spend this Christmas at Hogwarts.
Originally, he could have gone home for the holidays, but who would have thought that the Weasley parents suddenly decided to go to Romania to visit his second eldest brother, Charlie.
Helpless, he and his twin brothers could only stay at Hogwarts.
Ron curled his lip and said sourly, "I really envy you guys. Now that's great, everyone's leaving. I'm definitely going to be lonely as hell for the next few days."
Ron muttered, while staring at Harry expectantly, his eyes filled with barely concealed anticipation.
Obviously, he wanted to go back with Harry. He had always been curious about the Muggle world, and those novel gadgets seemed to have magic, scratching his heart with curiosity, just hoping to follow Harry to see what they were all about.
But Harry seemed not to see Ron's expectant gaze, completely ignoring him.
Normally, it wouldn't matter if Ron followed him, but this time the situation was different. If Ron went back with him, would he still be able to do his experiments?
Moreover, he not only planned to do experiments during this holiday, but also planned to take a trip to Knockturn Alley.
In that infamous alley, there were many notorious dark wizards. In Harry's eyes, these dark wizards were simply excellent 'magical materials'!
As experimental consumables, they had immeasurable value for Harry's research and experiments!
Harry was kind, yes, but this kindness had clear boundaries, only given to those who were upright and good.
Under the careful guidance of the Supreme Sorcerer, Harry already knew the distinction between good and evil. He would never be soft-hearted towards evildoers, let alone release a shred of kindness.
What was that saying? Kindness to the enemy is cruelty to oneself!
That day, as soon as Potions class ended, Harry, as usual, pestered Snape, asking him questions about potions.
As he understood Snape more and more, Harry's perception of him became better and better, and he discovered that he was truly a treasure!
Snape was a Potions Master who would never be stuck in his ways, and his thinking was never bound by tradition.
Over the past few decades, he had accumulated a large number of novel ideas about potions.
Some of these ideas were realized by him, while others could not be realized due to current limitations. Snape recorded them in detail and preserved them properly.
These precious ideas could bring Harry a lot of inspiration, and each time he learned a new idea, it could bring him brand new sparks of thought.
Not only that, Snape's profound and extensive knowledge could also supplement Harry's potion system, filling in gaps and omissions.
When Harry walked out of the dungeon classroom, he found Ron, Hermione, and Hagrid together, and Ron seemed to have a conflict with Malfoy.
Malfoy glanced at Ron dismissively, with a mocking smile on his lips, and turned to Goyle and Crabbe, saying, "I really feel sorry for some people who have to spend Christmas at Hogwarts because their families don't want them!"
Everyone could hear that Malfoy's words were directed at Ron. Goyle and Crabbe also laughed wantonly, raising their voices and laughing loudly without any scruples.
Finally, Malfoy didn't hide it at all, swaggering up to Ron, and seeing him helping Hagrid drag a fir tree, he couldn't help but mock:
"Oh, isn't this the poor boy Weasley? Could you please move aside and not block the aisle?"
Before he could finish speaking, he seemed to suddenly think of something even worse, and a sly smile appeared on his face:
"Oh, I see, are you trying to earn some pocket money? Let me think, you probably hope to guard the game reserve after graduating from Hogwarts, after all, Hagrid's hut is much better than your original home!"
They were all young people, at the height of their vigor, how could Ron endure being mocked by Malfoy to his face without responding?
In an instant, anger clouded his mind, and regardless of the consequences, his head heated up, and he pounced on Malfoy.
Just at this moment, Snape and Harry walked down the stairs, and this chaotic scene instantly fell into their eyes.
Snape didn't hesitate for even a second, almost reflexively, he unhesitatingly sided with Malfoy.
He twisted his face and scolded, "Weasley!"
Ron was frightened by the sudden roar of the greasy-haired bat, and his hand released Malfoy's chest like it was electrocuted.
Turning his head, he saw Snape's disgusted eyes under his hooked nose, and he was immediately terrified, his face turning white and red.
Hagrid hurriedly poked his shaggy head out from behind the fir tree, anxiously standing up for Ron: "Malfoy provoked him first, Malfoy insulted his family just now."
"In any case, laying hands on someone is against the rules, Hagrid." Snape didn't even lift his eyelids, and said in a smooth voice, "Gryffindor loses five points!"
Winning this conflict, Malfoy didn't have the slightest joy of victory.
He inadvertently raised his eyes and found Harry next to Snape staring at him intently, his eyes meaningful, making Malfoy's heart palpitate.
The reason why he mocked Ron just now was because Harry was not present. If Harry had been there at the time, he wouldn't have dared to be so presumptuous even if he had ten times the courage.
Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle left, and Ron stood in place, staring at Malfoy's back, gritting his teeth and saying, "I must teach him a lesson. One day, I will let him know how powerful I am!"
Harry quietly watched all of this from the side, not intending to interfere in Ron and Malfoy's childish game; Ron needed to handle this himself.
Harry was currently contemplating another matter: he planned to confront Malfoy before the Christmas holidays and ask if he needed a loan.
The holiday would give Malfoy some time to think.
"Alright, cheer up, it's almost Christmas," Hagrid patted Ron on the shoulder, comforting him. "Guess what I found, come with me to the Great Hall, it's amazing!"
So, Harry, Hermione, and Ron followed Hagrid to the Great Hall.
Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick were there, busy putting up Christmas decorations.
Seeing Hagrid, Professor McGonagall said with delight: "Ah, Hagrid, you've brought in the last tree, can you put it in that corner over there?"
"Of course!"
The Great Hall at this moment was beautiful and magnificent, captivating everyone's attention.
On the ceiling, holly and mistletoe intertwined, meticulously woven into layers of festoons, cascading down like green waterfalls.
Around the Great Hall, twelve tall Christmas trees stood majestically, some covered with glittering little icicles, shimmering like stars in the candlelight.
Others were adorned with hundreds of colorful candles of varying thicknesses, emitting a warm and gentle glow.
"How many days until the holiday?" Hagrid suddenly asked.
"Only one day," Hermione replied.
The others turned their gaze to Professor Flitwick, the short dueling master, who was standing on a chair, using his wand to spray out strings of golden bubbles.
These bubbles, illuminated by the magical lights, resembled flowing gems, floating upwards, drifting, and finally gently landing on the branches of the newly arrived Christmas tree.
After dinner, Harry temporarily parted ways with Hermione, left the library, and headed to the dungeons of the castle to find Malfoy.
The Slytherin common room was located in the dungeons of Hogwarts Castle, near the lake, connected to the outside world by a narrow, waterlogged passage.
This unique location gave the common room a mysterious and tranquil atmosphere, in keeping with the Slytherin House's character.
Harry stood behind a wall that seemed ordinary, but concealed a secret passage leading to the Slytherin common room.
He waited there quietly, and before long, a familiar figure appeared.
The moment Pansy saw Harry, her eyes lit up, and she trotted over with light steps, stopping in front of Harry, her eyes full of anticipation, her voice filled with unconcealed joy: "Harry, did you come to see me?"
Harry naturally wouldn't bluntly pour cold water on her; instead, he said vaguely, "Yes, that's right. Can I ask you a favor? Call Malfoy out, and tell him Harry Potter is looking for him."
As a member of Slytherin, Pansy was perceptive and could easily understand the meaning behind Harry's words.
She was a little disappointed that Harry wasn't looking for her, but she nodded and went into the common room to find Malfoy.
She realized that she simply couldn't refuse Harry's request.
Before long, a slight rustling sound came from the passage, and Malfoy, crouching low and shrinking, poked his head out of the hidden passage, cautiously looking left and right.
Goyle and Crabbe were the same, almost glued to Malfoy's back, looking even more timid than Malfoy.
They had to know that this time they were facing the formidable 'Lightning Lord'!
Seeing how timid they were, Harry shook his head helplessly and took the initiative to step forward.
But the moment they looked up and saw Harry, they subconsciously took a step back, wanting to escape back to the common room.
This immediately caused several black lines to appear on Harry's forehead, and he used telekinesis to pull Malfoy out, throwing Goyle and Crabbe back, leaving a sentence: "I'll chat with him alone for a while, I'll return him to you later."
Behind him, Goyle and Crabbe fell to the ground, their faces pale with fright, scrambling to get up while wailing loudly, constantly calling Malfoy's name.
Their miserable voices made it seem as if Malfoy would disappear forever and never return.
Harry didn't bother with them, grabbed Malfoy, and went straight to a secluded classroom.
After closing the door, a gentle smile appeared on his face, and he slowly spoke to Malfoy, who was pale with fright and trembling all over:
"Malfoy, you certainly don't want your mother to be looked down upon by other pure-blood families because you're too useless, do you?"
The next day, at five o'clock in the afternoon, snowflakes continued to fall, adorning Hogsmeade Station in silver.
Inside Hogsmeade Station, Ron and Hagrid stood side by side, waving goodbye to Harry.
Harry also waved back, boarding the Hogwarts Express with Hermione, heading to London.
Unlike the beginning of the term, there were fewer young wizards returning home for Christmas this time, and the carriages seemed particularly empty.
There were many empty compartments on the train, and Harry and Hermione occupied one alone, effectively sharing a room…
