Harry Potter and the Candy Factory

#51 - Dursley's Three Views Are Shattered

Hagrid's cake was huge, several times larger than a normal cake, something Harry couldn't possibly finish in a short time.

So, Harry just symbolically cut himself a piece with a knife and then left the rest aside.

It must be said that Hagrid's cake was quite good; at least, compared to its unremarkable appearance, the taste was amazing.

Harry sat on the sofa, close to Hagrid, eating the cake in his hand while occasionally turning his head to listen to Hagrid's slowly unfolding story.

"Hogwarts is the best magic school in all of Europe... no, the whole world."

Hagrid leaned back on the sofa, his eyes shining, and he seemed to share in the glory of Hogwarts, unconsciously straightening his back.

He turned his head and suddenly, as if remembering something, said to Harry with a smile,

"Your parents, James and Lily, graduated from Hogwarts! James was a very talented student and left quite a few achievements at Hogwarts. If you're sorted into Gryffindor, you can still see the trophies he won as a Seeker!"

Harry listened intently, his eyes wide, his mouth slightly open, and he even forgot to eat the cake in his hand.

"So, Mr. Charlie also graduated from Gryffindor?"

Almost unconsciously, he murmured to Hagrid.

"Mr. Charlie?" Hagrid frowned, scratching his head strangely.

"Which Charlie are you talking about? Charlie Weasley?"

"No."

Hearing this unfamiliar name, Harry shook his head decisively and said seriously,

"Mr. Charlie Black!"

"Charlie Black!?"

Hearing this name, Hagrid's voice suddenly and unconsciously rose several decibels.

The booming sound startled Harry, who was sitting next to him.

He stared wide-eyed, his eyebrows raised, looking at Hagrid in disbelief.

"How do you know Charlie Black!?"

"Shouldn't I know?" Harry scratched his head, seemingly not understanding why Hagrid would react so strongly to a name.

"Of course!" Hagrid nodded decisively. "You shouldn't know that name! At least... you shouldn't know that Charlie Black is a wizard before you go to school!!"

"Charlie Black is a wizard!?"

As the two were talking, Dursley, who had long been forgotten, suddenly cried out in surprise.

The mustache under his nose trembled, and he hurriedly interrupted the conversation, asking,

"The Charlie Black you're talking about... is he the founder of the Charlie's Candy Company!?"

Dudley, as a fanatic of Charlie's Chocolate, was arguably the biggest consumer on Privet Drive, so his father, Dursley, was naturally familiar with the name.

He had even seen the name in the latest issue of *The Times*, which he had subscribed to a month ago.

At the time, the newspaper's reporter praised this excellent and young entrepreneur and his candy as "the pride of Britain"...

"Yes... that's him."

Hagrid turned his head and glanced at Dursley, who was squatting beside him. Although he found it a bit strange, he patiently nodded and replied truthfully, considering that the other man had been well-behaved since he had come in.

Instantly, Dursley's face turned ugly.

With a "thump," his butt hit the ground again.

But this time, it wasn't a vase that was broken, but his worldview of more than thirty years.

...How many wizards are there!? If even such a famous entrepreneur is a wizard... then who else is?

Could the Prime Minister be one? Could the ministers be? Or... the Queen!? What if the Queen is also a wizard!!!!?

It's over. The world is over. This world has been ruled by wizards.

Hagrid didn't pay much attention to Dursley's ugly state at the moment, because he was more concerned about the details of how Harry had come into contact with Charlie Black.

Suddenly, Hagrid remembered what Harry had just said to him.

He quickly turned his head and continued to ask Harry,

"So... when you said 'also' gave you a cake, you meant... that before me, Charlie Black also came to give you a cake!?"

Harry thought for a moment and shook his head. "Charlie didn't give me the cake."

Hagrid felt a little relieved, but before he could catch his breath, Harry's next words, which he hadn't finished, almost made him choke.

"Dobby gave me the cake."

"Dobby?"

Who is Dobby again!!!!?

Hagrid suddenly choked, unable to stop himself from roaring inwardly.

"Dobby is a house-elf... uh, he told me he was a servant of the Malfoy family."

Hagrid's heart was completely unsettled at this moment... This was completely different from what Dumbledore had told him when he came!?

He seemed to feel for the first time that even without drinking, his head was still a mess.

He sat there, crashed for a while, and then Hagrid took a deep breath and muttered to himself,

"It looks like things have become a bit strange..."

His voice now showed a hint of fatigue as he spoke and stood up.

"I think we should leave as soon as possible and report these things to Headmaster Dumbledore."

Seeing him get up, Harry obediently stood up with him, following him honestly.

After hesitating for a while, he continued,

"Actually, I still want to hear you tell me what Mr. Charlie was like at the school."

"Uh... this..."

Hagrid paused and looked back at Harry hesitantly.

Logically speaking, Harry shouldn't know these things, but when Hagrid lowered his head and his eyes met those twinkling eyes, he was completely defeated.

"Although I would love to tell you about Charlie Black, unfortunately, I don't know him very well. I only know that he wasn't a very well-behaved student..."

As he spoke, he spread his hands helplessly and walked towards the door.

"When you get to Hogwarts, you can ask Filch. He should be the faculty member who had the most contact with Charlie Black in the entire school."

"Okay." Harry nodded ignorantly. Although Hagrid's answer didn't satisfy him very much, he decided to suppress the questions in his heart.

Because he knew that once he arrived at that magic school called Hogwarts, all the questions would probably be answered.

"Before we leave, can I go back to the house and pack my things first?"

Harry looked at Hagrid, who had sat back on the motorcycle, and asked the last question.
