Harry Potter and the Candy Factory
#7 - go home
The sun was setting.
By the time Harry returned to the Dursleys' doorstep, the sun, which had still been casting its last rays, had completely sunk below the horizon.
The color of the sky dimmed, turning into a blurred darkness.
"Huff," he stood at the door, gazing at the wooden door painted with white paint, and couldn't help but take a deep breath.
He patted his cheeks, causing the joy that had appeared on his face to dissipate, and then changed back to the same dejection and embarrassment as before.

As for the chocolate that Charlie had handed him at the end, it was stuffed into his pants pocket.
Moreover, he had deliberately widened the already wrinkled pocket a little, so that a corner of the chocolate wrapper could be faintly exposed.
After Harry was busy for a while, confirming that everything was ready, he finally twisted the handle of the wooden door.
"Creak, creak…"
The old wooden door was slowly pushed open by him with a piercing sound.
The warm orange light shone on him through the gradually opening door.
Compared with the dark and hazy environment outside, it seemed like a completely different world…
However, for Harry, it was quite the opposite.
If he really could, he would rather wander aimlessly on the dark streets than enter this house and face three mean and hateful faces.
"I'm back…"
Just like every night like this, Harry drooped his head and said in a voice that only he could hear.
And everything was just as Harry had expected.
The Dursley family had finished dinner early, and at this moment his uncle was nestled on the sofa, leisurely reading an evening newspaper.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, he glanced at Harry sideways and then made a few "hum hum" nasal sounds.
"Hum hum, close the door, boy.
You're bringing in the cold air."
The thick mustache under his big nose trembled as he spoke, like a fat caterpillar crawling on it.
His cousin Dudley looked at Harry, who looked embarrassed, and also showed a triumphant smile.
Obviously, seeing Harry in this state would undoubtedly make him very happy.
Because from childhood to adulthood, teasing this cousin, who had always been called a "little rascal" by his parents, was one of his great hobbies.
"Is there any dinner?"
Harry asked as usual.
"Dinner! ?"
Sure enough, hearing Harry's words, his aunt, who had been sitting quietly by the coffee table sipping a cup of hot tea, suddenly widened her eyes.
Staring at Harry Potter, her voice suddenly raised several octaves.
Her voice was shrill, and coupled with her eyes that were staring at Harry, not concealing her hatred, and her slightly hooked nose.
In Harry's eyes, she looked just like the most classic witch in fairy tales.
"Coming back at this hour, it's already merciful enough that I didn't confine you in the cupboard under the stairs for a week.
And you, you actually have the nerve to ask me if there's any dinner! ?"
"Hum hum…" Hearing his wife's words, Uncle Dursley finally deigned to look at Harry properly.
His eyes were also filled with undisguised disgust, and he said
"What a greedy little rascal…"
Harry lowered his head slightly, drooping his eyelids, his hands clenched into fists, and said nothing.
Like a wooden puppet standing there, he let the other party insult him.
… …
"Humph."
Before long, the aunt and uncle, who had been belittling and scolding Harry, finally let out a breath of turbid air with a satisfied snort, as if they had completed their daily routine.
Then, they said indifferently
"Don't stand there, go wash the dishes!
Then go back to your cupboard under the stairs."
After speaking, looking at Harry walking towards the sink, she seemed to think of something again and quickly added.
"You better not fool around, you know, boy.
If I find that your bowls are not washed clean, you still won't have dinner tomorrow!"
"I know."
Standing in front of the sink, with his back to the three of them, Harry nodded obediently on the surface, honestly agreeing, but couldn't help but curl his lips.
While Harry was washing the dishes, he carefully turned his head and glanced at the family of three sitting happily together on the sofa.
At this moment, their appearance was completely different from when they faced Harry.
No matter how others looked at it, they would only nod in relief at this scene, and would not think that this was actually a family with four people.
When the last bowl was taken out of the sink by Harry.
He shook the water droplets on his hands, and then, as usual, obeyed his aunt and uncle's orders and obediently walked back to the cupboard under the stairs where he lived.
The only difference was that Harry
This time, he didn't choose to stay away from Dudley, who was staring at him intently, but deliberately walked past him.
Sure enough, just as he had expected.
Perhaps Dudley was truly hopelessly stupid in learning and other aspects.
But when it came to how to find food… Harry could firmly believe that absolutely no one had such a talent like him!
Almost in the instant that Harry walked past him, Dudley's nose twitched, as if he had smelled something familiar.
Then his eyes widened and he searched Harry's body before finally landing on his wrinkled and widened pocket.
At this moment, Dudley was so agile that he didn't seem like a fat man at all.
He suddenly jumped up from the sofa and let out a shrill scream like an air raid siren.
"Dad!! Mom!!! Harry Potter has chocolate in his pocket!! It's Charlie's hazelnut chocolate!!! This guy stole a hazelnut chocolate!!!"
Hearing his son's cry, Harry didn't know if it was his imagination.
He seemed to see a faint light in the eyes of the couple, with a bit of joy on the corners of their mouths.
That expression seemed to be saying, great, we can scold him again.
… … … … … … … … … … …
There was no need to say more about what happened after that. The Dursley couple determined that Harry had stolen the chocolate.
Perhaps it was from a store, perhaps it was from someone, or perhaps it was the snacks that their precious son had hidden…
But none of this mattered anymore. What mattered was that they had to teach this "thief" a good lesson.
After another chaotic commotion…
Uncle Dursley grabbed Harry like he was carrying a chick, and then threw him into the cupboard under the stairs.
"Bang!!!"
With his thick arm slamming the cupboard door shut.
The cupboard shook three times directly, and the dust clinging to it fell rustling down.
Harry lay in his little nest, looking out through the cracks in the cupboard.
Although he was still embarrassed, at this moment, he couldn't help but show a smile on his face.
