Harry Potter and the Legend of the Temple
Chapter 19 Dreamland
In the land of northern England surrounded by mountains, there is an inconspicuous small village.
There is a group of strangely dressed people here. Under the scorching sun in broad daylight, each one is wearing a black cloak and a pitch-black hat. Everyone behaves with their heads down and never talks to others.
In that era when wizards were persecuted, anyone found to have traces of using magic would be bullied and suppressed by Muggles, considered to be freaks and demons, and would be burned at the stake.
As a result, the living space for wizards became increasingly narrow, and that village became the only wizard tribe within a few hundred miles.
Although the atmosphere in this village is terrifyingly depressing, the famous Issa Tavern in the village has become a holy place for wizards to let themselves go.
The bartender Jacob's daily job is to help customers pour wine, chat, and listen to their nonsense. All kinds of people come to Isa Tavern every day. Some tourists stop by to ask for a drink and talk about some of their experiences. Some locals also often come to the pub to chat about trivial matters.
Jacob listened quietly, and sometimes echoed a few words. In fact, what these people needed was just an audience, and they just used this as an outlet to vent their emotions.
But among this group of people, there is one of the most peculiar ones. He comes to Isa's Tavern every day. He doesn't say anything and looks extremely slovenly. After entering, he sits down on the right side of the door and asks for a glass of the strongest whiskey.
Jacob didn't dare to ask more questions, because such people were either vicious masters or hidden devils. They had more or less experienced great changes in life and became a little inhumane and forced by life.
However, he learned from other people that this man was a down-and-out nobleman in the nearby valley, and his family lived in a large castle. However, it was said that his biological sister fell in love with a Muggle, which led to a family tragedy.
People who were originally optimistic and cheerful about life became resentful of the world, especially Muggles.
Jacob sighed, they are all poor people tortured by life.
On this day, a traveler who had traveled a lot was welcomed into the tavern. He had a cheerful face and was hospitable. As soon as he entered the door, he snapped his fingers at Jacob.
"Have a shot of tequila, buddy." The traveler greeted Jacob.
"Where do you come from, buddy?" Jacob looked at him like this and couldn't help but be a little curious.
"The Gorvik Valley in the north." He pointed to the north, "Muggles have been very restless recently, and we are not at peace there either."
"That's far enough." Jacob poured a glass of wine and pushed it to the man, "But why did you come here?"
"Hey, forget it." He drank a glass of tequila in one gulp, leaned closer to Jacob and said, "Have you heard of the Temple?"
"What about the stuff Merlin left behind? Everyone knows this, right?" Jacob wiped the glass goblet and pointed at the wizards sitting there chatting.
"I can assure you that half of these people are here for this. This matter has been spreading a lot recently, saying that there is a lost key to the temple near us."
Jacob looked at the man's eyes and said blankly: "You don't really believe this, do you?"
"It's better to believe that it exists than to believe that it doesn't exist." He said and raised his eyebrows. This person has never lacked adventurous spirit. Since there is news, why not give it a try.
"Oh, this news has been circulating for three months, and I haven't seen anyone succeed." Jacob shook his head.
"Then how do you know I won't succeed?" He stared at Jacob with a smile. The bartender saw an unyielding desire to win in his eyes, like a sleeping lion.
"Then I'll give you a little challenge first to see how good you are." Jacob leaned forward and pointed one finger at the sloppy man drinking by the window.
"This guy hasn't spoken since he came to my store. If you can get him to talk, I will believe you."
Jacob naturally had his confidence, because someone had talked to him before, but he was either ignored or frightened away by his murderous eyes.
"Come on, man, three galleons, this money is yours if you don't ask." He took out three shining gold coins and threw them on the table.
"Five galleons, this is my week's salary." Jacob said with a naive smile.
"Then another shot of tequila."
The man drank another glass of high-purity wine and walked towards the direction where the man was drinking.
"Hey, man. It's a nice day. Can you please let me sit here?"
Seeing that the other party didn't answer, the traveler sat down directly in front of him.
Jacob shook his head and continued to clean his glass. If the man was so easy to talk to, he wouldn't have so many things to do.
"I know why you don't speak. Although I have heard about your tragic story, you are afraid that everyone will find out that you are a snake, right?" The traveler lowered his voice and said it in a voice that only the two of them could hear.
The sloppy man paused and looked up at the traveler for the first time, with a hint of disbelief in his eyes. Only then did the traveler notice his green eyes.
Snakes are known as unlucky creatures among wizards, and as a snake-talker he is naturally shunned by others, including his own family. He was fostered by others since he was a child, until after the tragedy, he came back as the only survivor in the family to inherit the family business.
So he hated Muggles because the only sister he liked was killed, but he also hated his own family, but in the end he was allowed to inherit the family business. What an irony.
However, what surprised him was that this young man was still so friendly to him since he already knew that he was a snake. Looking at the friendly smile of the traveler, he felt a trace of true love for the first time.
"Be a friend. Even if you are a snake-tongued person, it doesn't matter. I can see that you are a kind person." The traveler extended a hand in a friendly manner.
At this time, everyone in the tavern became quiet and looked at the situation over there.
The person under the black robe hesitated for a moment, paused for a long time, and finally stretched out his seemingly dry hand from under the robe and took hold of the other person.
"Hello, let me introduce myself again. My name is Godric, Godric Gryffindor." The young man named Gryffindor had a smile on his face.
"Slytherin, Salazar Slytherin." The young man in black robe finally spoke, and the tavern couldn't help but burst into warm applause. Even the bartender Jacob couldn't help but admire the traveler's charisma.
Five galleons is not a bad thing, if you can make a friend.
"To Gryffindor and Slytherin, I bought this round of drinks." Jacob raised his glass high, as if he had become a witness to history.
"Here's to Gryffindor and Slytherin!" voices echoed in the tavern.
