Harry Potter and the Legend of the Temple

Chapter 358 Quidditch Trials (Part 1)

The atmosphere the next day was not much better than the previous day.

Harry was still in a gloomy mood, and people would always point fingers at him when walking on the castle road.

Hermione and Ron had an argument about the house elf hat. It was a cloth hat that Hermione stayed up all night to make, but Ron thought it was a dirty, broken bag.

In short, a crisis of trust began to appear throughout the school, and most students were unwilling to come into contact with Harry's group, not to mention that there was even more severe academic pressure for them in fifth grade.

The O.W.Ls school year is extremely important for any student wizard, and the school's teachers also proved this. Professor McGonagall was more strict than usual in class. She spent a whole hour teaching the students to use the disappearing spell, and the effect was obvious. Among the Gryffindor students, only Hermione succeeded in making the snails disappear on the table.

Professor Flitwick's class wasn't that easy either. After a whole class of Charms exercises, he gave them the most Charms homework ever, which made Harry already impatient. Becoming more irritable.

While the fifth grade students were "suffering", Louis and the others were studying herbalism in the greenhouse.

Professor Sprouni was wearing what appeared to be tattered cloth clothes and a cloth hat. She looked naturally optimistic and gave people a sense of reassurance. As the Head of House of Hufflepuff, she is a pure Hufflepuff, always compassionate and tolerant, and a witch with a sense of justice.

In fact, for herbalism, Louis, who knew the basics of potions class, was already familiar with the knowledge of herbal medicine. Sprouni's lectures are also quite lively. She often asks students to cultivate a magic plant by themselves.

"Babo tubers, you need to know about it," Professor Sprouni explained, pointing to a very ugly mass on the table.

That thing didn't look like a plant, but a bunch of big black slugs. It looked extremely disgusting. The Ravenclaw girls who were in class with the Gryffindors all avoided it. Only Luna curiously stepped forward to look at the group of different gadgets.

"Does anyone know what this baba tuber is used for?"

"Wiggins, I heard from Professor Snape that your grades in Potions class are very good, and your knowledge of Herbology must be no problem."

Lewis did not expect that Professor Sprouni would directly ask him to answer by name, so he could only reply:

"The juice inside the baba tubers has great medicinal value. If I remember correctly, it can treat stubborn acne."

"That's right. He is indeed a potion genius. Five points for Gryffindor."

Sprouni was very happy, and she clapped her hands to everyone, focusing everyone's attention again.

"What we have to do today is to squeeze out the juice from the baba tubers. Everyone wears gloves."

A pair of nylon gloves is placed in front of each person's desk.

"Please note that the sap from Babo tubers is extremely corrosive and will cause unpredictable damage to the skin if it accidentally touches the skin."

The students' hands that wanted to move suddenly stopped, especially the girls, who were a little afraid of this.

"As long as you're careful, you'll be fine." Strawney rolled up her sleeves, "Just like this."

She carefully squeezed a pustule open, and the juice inside immediately flowed out like a flood. Seeing the bulging pustule burst, Lewis felt a sense of relief from the bottom of his heart for some reason.

The students from both colleges did so, and for a moment, a joyful cracking sound came from the greenhouse.

After the herbal medicine class, Strawney walked towards the school hospital with a large bucket of yellow juice in her hand, a proud smile on her face.

. . . . . .

Time passed so quickly, and Harry and the others had not yet recovered from the mountains and seas of homework in the first week. It was already Friday, the day of tryouts for the Gryffindor Quidditch team.

This day is also the only day Harry can be happy. Quidditch is the only thing he can escape from reality. In the past few days, not only has he been under academic pressure, but he has also been under a lot of pressure in life.

But soon, reality poured cold water on him again. Lucalis found him during dinner in the evening and said that Umbridge's confinement had been moved forward and was rescheduled to tonight.

"What? How could she do this?"

Angelina was so angry after getting the news that she kicked the wooden cabinet door in the Quidditch lounge hard, making a loud noise.

Fred and George, both on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, seemed to have never seen Angelina so angry.

If the confinement time is set for Friday early in the morning, there is still a possibility of maneuvering. The temporary change of time was obviously targeting them, and could even be said to be deliberately targeting Harry.

But Angelina had no choice but to get angry. Time was running out, and Harry had to miss the Quidditch selection.

"Okay, Angelina, it's important." Chaser Arya Spinnet comforted, and several people were about to walk out with brooms.

"Huh? By the way, where is Wiggins?"

Angelina looked around and seemed not to notice the presence of their substitute.

"Louis said he was going to borrow a broom and would come back later." George replied.

"Okay, let's go out first."

The weather outside was not very good and the wind was a bit strong at night, but this did not affect the large number of people who signed up.

Louis arrived at the venue five minutes after they came out. He never expected that so many people would come to sign up for the Quidditch selection.

This is twice as many substitutes as he had previously selected.

There were many students sitting in the audience. Louis glanced at the stage, and after seeing Astoria's figure, he walked towards the stage.

Sitting with Astoria was the captain of Ravenclaw, Cho Chang.

"Don't you need to go downstairs?"

Astoria felt a little strange when she saw Lewis coming.

"It's not my turn yet." Louis sat down next to her, "But it's you, Qiu. As the captain of Ravenclaw, why do you come to see me for the Gryffindor selection?"

"Why aren't you welcome? Are you afraid that I will know all your details?" Qiu Zhang teased, "Don't worry, it was Angelina who asked me to come."

"Just as a friend, come and see."

"So what do you think?"

"There are indeed some capable people among these, but it depends on Angelina's ability to discern pearls."

Qiu Zhang has a unique vision, and she can already tell something about the candidates even before they show their strength.

"But isn't that your friend? Is he here too?"

Louis followed her pointing and saw Ron Weasley's figure among the crowd.

Sure enough, Ron was honest about not caring about Ron's body, but Lewis was worried about Ron's mental state.

Angelina whistled, and the candidates immediately fell silent. She explained the purpose and process of the selection to everyone, and then divided them into groups and the selection officially began.

The first round of selection was hosted by Arya Spinnet and Katie Bell. Under the bombardment of the two chasers, they almost threw twenty balls to each selector. Soon, the results were divided. Out of the pros and cons.

Only three people successfully resisted eighteen balls or more, including Ron Weasley. Although there were many dangers, one ball almost passed through his fingers.

"It seems like your friend is quite capable." Qiu Zhang praised, "However, we are still far from becoming the starting goalkeeper."

"You don't believe it? I believe he can do it." Lewis smiled.

"Okay, it's my turn."

He stood up from his position, let go of the hand that had been holding Astoria, waved at them, and walked straight down.

"What is he doing in the Quidditch lounge? Does he have a broom too?"

Astoria didn't answer her, and after a while, Louis came out carrying an extremely delicate broom.

"Astoria, you are so skillful." Qiu Zhang shook his head helplessly, not knowing whether to be jealous or envious for a moment.

"Senior, what's mine belongs to him, but I feel that the broom can perform at its best in his hands." Astoria said, with a happy smile on her face.
