Hogwarts: I am the White Demon King

#263 - Chapter 263: Exhausted Hermione

Under the guidance of many professors, more and more students were able to cast corporeal Patronuses.

The Patronus Charm was difficult, which instead activated the students' competitive spirit. They were all holding their breath, as if they would be left behind if they couldn't cast a Patronus.

Affected by this, the learning atmosphere in the school became unusually strong, and every corner of the school seemed to be filled with the atmosphere of hard work.

Students no longer joked and played around as easily as they used to, but instead focused on their studies.

The dueling club became a popular place for students to show and improve their magical abilities, and it was filled with young wizards practicing various spells every day.

In the corridors, groups of two or three figures discussing course content could be seen everywhere.

And the library was even more packed. Between the bookshelves, rows of students bowed their heads and buried themselves in books, and from time to time, there was a soft sound of pages turning and whispered discussions.

The third-year wizards, facing increasing pressure from their heavy coursework, worked even harder.

Although everyone was working hard, if you were to say who was the most diligent, without a doubt, Hermione Granger was the undisputed leader.

In fact, perhaps not only in the third year, but throughout the entire school, Hermione's diligence was almost unmatched.

Because she had signed up for too many classes, she was as busy as a spinning top every day, with hardly a moment to catch her breath.

In order to solve the problem of time conflicts between various courses, Professor McGonagall had specially applied for a Time-Turner for her at the beginning of the semester, so that she could attend courses that were taking place at the same time.

Even so, her time was still so tight that it was suffocating.

Whether in the classroom, library, dueling club, or corridor, people could always see her hurrying figure, carrying heavy textbooks, rushing to the next class, or writing furiously in a corner.

In just over two months, Hermione's body and spirit were clearly beginning to suffer.

The rosy complexion on her face was gone, replaced by a paleness.

Her originally fluffy curly hair now often hung messily over her shoulders, and coupled with her heavy dark circles, she looked extremely haggard.

Today's Muggle Studies class was not a practical lesson, but a lesson in the classroom to learn some basic Muggle life knowledge.

Listening to the professor's explanation, Hermione rubbed her temples from time to time, trying to keep herself awake.

However, due to being too tired, she would occasionally lose focus due to lack of energy, and her eyes would wander between the pages, appearing particularly weak and empty.

The bell rang for the end of class, and Hermione packed her bag. Just as she was about to leave with Ron, she heard the professor's voice from the podium.

"Miss Granger, please stay behind for a moment."

Crap!

It seemed that the professor had noticed Hermione dozing off just now.

Ron looked at Hermione, his eyes full of worry.

He had long noticed that something was wrong with her recently, and she looked exhausted every day.

However, every time he asked Hermione the reason, she would divert the topic with something else.

Leaving her with a look of concern, Ron followed the crowd out of the classroom.

At this moment, Hermione was extremely nervous. She sat anxiously in her seat, waiting for the professor's reprimand.

"Miss Granger, you look too tired. Have a bottle of Pepper-Up Potion first."

Looking at the potion in front of her, Hermione raised her head in surprise.

She originally thought that she would be reprimanded and deducted points by the professor, but she didn't expect to receive the professor's concern.

Looking at the professor's gentle eyes, her tense shoulders relaxed slightly, and she picked up the potion and drank it.

"Professor Slughorn, thank you for the potion. I feel much better."

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have dozed off in class."

Sebastian smiled slightly, "Don't worry, I know the reason for your fatigue, so I won't be harsh on you."

"But to be honest, you are indeed pushing yourself too hard."

"It's not worth it to exhaust your body for the sake of studying. You need to rest well."

"But, Professor," Hermione said with a troubled expression, "My schedule is too full. I have twelve classes to take. There's not enough time to study, and I really can't spare any time to rest."

Twelve classes!

Sebastian was stunned for a moment, and suddenly realized that he had not specifically understood Hermione's course selection this year.

He just subconsciously felt, based on the impression in the original book, that the little girl had still chosen ten or eleven courses.

No wonder she couldn't spare any time to rest. This intensity was killing her.

He looked at Hermione, his voice softening a little again.

"Can you talk about how you are studying so many courses? As a professor, maybe I can give you some advice."

Hermione frowned and told him about her study methods in detail.

Sebastian became a listener, patiently listening to every word Hermione said.

After understanding Hermione's biggest problem, he asked, "Miss Granger, I've noticed that you put a lot of effort into every class, and there's no distinction between primary and secondary when studying."

"Are you planning to get an O (Outstanding) in every subject?"

"Of course," Hermione said without hesitation, "Since I've put in the effort, of course I have to get excellent grades."

"Not only that, but I also plan to learn from Percy and get O.W.L. certificates in twelve exams with excellent grades."

Sebastian couldn't help but shake his head and said with a smile, "Miss Granger, you may have some misunderstandings about Percy's grades."

"Although he got twelve certificates, not every subject was Outstanding."

"What's more, although you both chose twelve courses, your situations are different."

Different?

Hermione frowned in confusion.

She and Percy only had two different elective courses, but how big could the difference be?

Looking at Hermione's expression, Sebastian knew what she was wondering.

From the perspective of courses, the only difference between her and Percy was in Divination and Alchemy.

However, Divination was a well-known easy course. You only needed to make up some terrifying remarks during the exam to get the professor's favor and get a high score.

The difficulty of Alchemy was much greater, and you had to invest a lot of time to learn this course well.

What's more, Percy divided the courses into different levels during the learning process.

As far as Sebastian knew, he never spent too much time on Divination and Muggle Studies.

And Hermione?

She spent a lot of time on every course.

Not only that, but she also liked to memorize all the content in the textbook word for word, which further increased her study burden.

Under various differences, she would naturally be overwhelmed by the heavy study tasks.

Sebastian explained the differences to Hermione in detail, and after the little girl understood, he continued.

"Miss Granger, I've noticed that you've been using the Time-Turner to study."

"That won't work. You need to learn to use it to be lazy."
