Hogwarts: I am the White Demon King

#42 - Chapter 42 The Warm-hearted Man is Cedric

As the gentle morning breeze swept through the Great Hall, the owls hooted, beginning their busy day of delivering letters.

Charlie, sporting dark circles under his eyes, sat at the Gryffindor table, burying himself in his breakfast.

Hearing the owls arrive, he merely glanced up before returning to his food, his mind elsewhere.

Quidditch completely occupied his thoughts.

He wanted to lead his team to train harder and wash away their previous disgrace!

As for other trivial matters, they didn't even register.

Suddenly, Wood sat down beside him with a copy of *The Daily Prophet*.

With a worried expression, he said to Charlie, "Charlie, take a look at this."

Charlie glanced over and immediately felt a surge of anger.

The front page of *The Daily Prophet* bore a large headline: *'Sebastian Swaan: Corrupting the Youth'*—by Rita Skeeter.

Charlie was already feeling frustrated, and after seeing this report, he lost his appetite completely.

Without bothering to wipe his mouth, he picked up the newspaper and began to read it carefully.

【Sebastian Swaan, once the most dazzling Quidditch star in the world, came to Hogwarts to become a professor for the sake of prestige.】

【He knows nothing about teaching and is simply misleading students; yesterday's game results are the best proof.】

【In light of this situation, the author urges everyone to reflect on whether Professor Swaan is deliberately hiding his abilities, or whether he is simply incompetent as a teacher.】

【What was Dumbledore thinking, allowing such an incompetent person to be a professor?】

【The author can't help but suspect that there is an unknown shady deal between Sebastian and Dumbledore.】

【There is ample evidence to suggest that Professor Swaan brought a wide variety of alchemical items to Hogwarts before the start of the school year.】

......

......

The more Charlie read, the angrier he became; his fists were clenched tightly, and he was on the verge of exploding.

That vile woman!

How dare she?

How could she write such things about Professor Swaan!

She even attacked the Muggle Studies class that the professor was in charge of, saying that the professor couldn't even teach such a simple class and only knew how to take the young wizards to the Muggle world to play!

【This is not only frivolous, but also a sign of the decline of wizards!】

The glaring words repeatedly stimulated Charlie's eyes, agitating his nerves.

Charlie's chest heaved violently, and his eyes turned red with extreme anger.

He gripped *The Daily Prophet* tightly in his hand, his knuckles turning white from the excessive force, as if he was about to tear the newspaper to shreds in the next second!

Just then, the discussions of the young wizards entered his ears, like adding fuel to the fire, making the raging anger in his heart even more intense.

"The newspaper makes a good point! Professor Swaan is in charge of the project, so he should be responsible for yesterday's failure!"

"Is Professor Swaan even competent?"

"Well, I think Professor Swaan is very good at playing Quidditch himself, but he may not be very good at teaching."

"It's hard to say, Professor Swaan is a great Seeker, winning every game in two minutes, but he may not understand the other positions."

"I strongly agree with the views on Muggle Studies. Professor Swaan's approach is a betrayal of pure-blood heritage! Taking students to the Muggle world every day—what good can come of that!"

Hearing this, Charlie could no longer suppress the anger in his heart, and he suddenly stood up, ready to scold these nonsensical young wizards.

However, someone was one step ahead of him.

Marcus from Slytherin, his face extremely gloomy, raised his fist and slammed it hard on the solid dining table.

"Thump!"

The loud noise instantly drowned out the young wizards' discussions, attracting everyone's attention.

Marcus suddenly stood up and lunged at a Slytherin student not far from him.

He grabbed the student's collar with both hands and dragged him out of his seat.

Marcus, his face flushed, glared at him and roared, "Is that thing on your shoulders just for decoration? Or did a troll eat your brain?"

"Don't you have your own thoughts? Do you just believe everything you read in the newspaper!"

"If I publish an article in the newspaper tomorrow saying you're useless, does that mean you really are useless?"

"I'm warning you, if I hear you say one more bad thing about Professor Swaan, I guarantee you'll spend the next week in the hospital wing!"

The young wizard who was grabbed by the collar was not convinced, and he raised his head and said resentfully:

"I think what the newspaper says is completely correct. Professor Swaan is letting down the pure-blood heritage!"

"Taking students to the Muggle world every day—that's a disgrace!"

The veins on Marcus's forehead bulged, and he raised his fist, about to smash it hard into the face of the young wizard who had uttered those wild words!

Before Marcus's fist could land on the young wizard's face, the two were separated by a spell flying from afar.

"Marcus, for assaulting a classmate, Slytherin loses three points."

Accompanied by a distinctive voice, Snape's figure appeared at the entrance of the Great Hall.

He strode towards Marcus and the other student, and because he was walking so fast, his black wizard's robe seemed to be lifted by an invisible force, billowing behind him.

Snape first glanced at Marcus expressionlessly, then turned his head and stared at the other Slytherin student with his hollow eyes.

He opened his mouth and said slowly and deliberately, "McNeil, for insulting a professor, Slytherin loses another 20 points!"

"Congratulations, Mr. McNeil, you have just earned yourself two months of detention!"

"I think we won't have to worry about running out of Flobberworm mucus for a long time to come!"

After punishing the two young wizards who caused the chaos, Snape turned around.

He said to the students watching the commotion, "What are you still looking at? Don't you have classes this morning?"

"If anyone is late to my class, they will be processing Flobberworms with Mr. McNeil."

......

......

It wasn't until Snape's figure disappeared at the entrance of the Great Hall that the students relaxed, whispering to each other and continuing to discuss the topic just now.

Charlie couldn't stand the atmosphere in the Great Hall any longer.

He said hello to his teammates from the other houses, then took Wood and went outside the Great Hall.

After a while, everyone gathered outside the Great Hall.

Unlike in the past, the group didn't look high-spirited at all.

They all had their heads lowered, with embarrassed expressions on their faces!

Among them, Cedric's head was almost drooping to his chest.

Charlie looked around and then said in a deep voice, "Everyone has read today's newspaper, right?"

Before he could finish speaking, Charlie was interrupted by Marcus.

"This report is complete nonsense, utter lies, not a single word is believable!"

"Of course I know the newspaper is full of nonsense," Charlie said with concern. "I'm just thinking."

"We were all extremely angry when we saw the newspaper, what about the professor?"

Cedric suddenly raised his head: "I think the professor must be even more angry!"

"He taught us so many Quidditch skills, but yesterday's game was a complete disaster."

"And now he's being misunderstood and slandered."

"If I were the professor, I would definitely be heartbroken!"

"Should we go and apologize to the professor? That way he might feel a little better."

Charlie nodded, affirming, "You're right, Cedric."

"Let's go find the professor now!"
